Norton House Hotel & Spa was originally built in 1840 and is today a fully refurbished yet traditional country retreat.

It is superbly located only 5 km (approximately 3 miles) from Edinburgh International Airport and 14.5 km (approximately 9 miles) from the bustling Edinburgh city centre. Whilst there you can visit Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Mile, Edinburgh Zoo and the Royal Botanical Gardens and Festival Theatre.

Pass the stone gatehouse and follow the long, tree-lined drive to the house, with pea hens skittering in front of the car. You will be in no doubt you have found a traditional country house retreat.

You haven't left the modern world that far behind. This imposing Victorian mansion set in 55 acres of verdant lawns, secluded parkland and meadows is just a short distance from the vibrant city of Edinburgh. Norton House itself offers the best of both worlds too. In the original manor, with its grand staircase and period furnishings, you'll be delighted by the quiet opulence of oak panelling, ornamental ceilings, deep-buttoned leather and rich brocades. Yet, moving further into the house, you'll discover rooms that give comfort a more contemporary look. Leather, mirrors, satins and silk are used to create a style that's much more modern but no less sumptuous. But if the decor is varied, the hospitality you're offered will be entirely uniform and totally genuine. It will set the tone for your entire stay and create an atmosphere that will quickly make you feel completely at home. It is a feeling that is fuelled by fine wines and award-winning cuisine, as well as the comforts provided by the luxurious rooms.

Norton House Hotel & Spa is pleased to inform you that the brand new luxurious Spa & Health Club is now open, providing the ultimate in pure indulgence with an extensive range of treatments. The new Health Club provides the latest fitness equipment, as well as a fantastic group exercise studio, swimming pool, hydrotherapy pool, steam room and sauna. Use of the Spa facilities is complimentary to residents of the hotel, excluding treatments. We do recommend any treatments be booked in advance of arrival.

In Ushers, you'll enjoy fine dining in quiet, refined surroundings, selecting from a menu that offers a superbly balanced choice of traditional dishes with a contemporary twist. In the Glass Lounge brasserie, you'll enjoy dishes which, like the restaurant, have a livelier more vibrant style. They're modern dishes with a rustic Mediterranean influence.

Directions

From Edinburgh take the A8 past the airport. The hotel is half a mile further along on the left. From Glasgow follow the M8 to Junction 2, which is signposted Edinburgh Airport. Follow the signs for the airport and pass the Highland Showground (A8), where you will see the signs for the hotel.
