A former Drover's Inn dating back to the 18th century, the Achilty Hotel provides excellent food and accommodation. The owners Ethel and Christopher Slater and their staff look forward to giving you a warm Scottish welcome.

The Achilty Hotel is a 3 star aa Hotel, the hotel has 11 fully appointed en suite bedrooms, 2 restaurants and a lounge bar serving excellent Scottish food, with an emphasis on local produce from local suppliers to ensure a high quality of product. We are a great base for touring the highlands, taking in the beautiful scenery, wildlife and absorbing the historical points of interest in the area. Alternatively, you could just relax and enjoy the peace and quiet in the Wyvis lounge. In the lounge bar there is a good selection of local malt whiskies for you to try. Unfortunately the hotel does not have a lift.

Restaurants and Bars

We have two restaurants, the Grape and Grain and The Music Room - In the Grape and Grain we serve a bistro menu and in the Music room it is an a la carte menu. The food served in both our restaurants is the finest fresh local produce in the area and is cooked to order so dishes can be altered to your liking. We also cater for any special dietary needs - just let us know prior to your arrival. Also, all our desserts are homemade.

• Deposit: A fixed amount of GBP 25 per room will be charged on the day of booking and is non-refundable.
• Internet: Wireless internet is available in some hotel rooms and is free of charge.
• Pets: Pets are not allowed.
• Parking: Free Public parking is possible on site.
• Extra Charges: VAT is included. Service charge is included. City/tourist tax is not applicable.
• Children and extra beds: All children are welcome. One child or adult is charged 100 % of the room stay per night and person when using existing bedding. There is no capacity for extra beds/cots in the room.
• Cancellations: If cancelled up to 3 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged. If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.

Directions

Take the a9 north out of Inverness, at the Tore roundabout take the 2nd exit on your left, taking you on to the a835 Ullapool Road. Keep following this road until you get to Contin. Come right through the village and you will find us on the west side over the bridge on the right hand side. 27 km / 17 miles from Inverness. If you are taking the train, you would get the train to Dingwall and then take the number 27 bus to Contin, getting off at the last stop just outside the village and then a short walk over the bridge and you will see us on the right hand side. If taking the bus then take the no 27 bus from Inverness to Contin.
