This family-run, country hotel is located in the middle of the beautiful Albtal valley, just a short journey from Karlsruhe.

The picturesque town of Marxzell is conveniently located for exploring the Northern Black Forest and also offers excellent transport links to Karlsruhe.

Messengers used to spend the night in this former millhouse, to recover from the toils of their journeys. The hotel remains true to this long-standing tradition of offering hospitality to passing guests, and now combines modern comfort with the feeling of being in a bygone age.

The restaurant serves up a colourful buffet of fresh salads, vegetables and diverse starters. Enjoy the aroma of freshly baked bread drifting through the room as you take a seat by the window and look out at the surrounding scenery. Treat yourself to one of the many fine dishes from the local Baden area, and savour one of the fine wines from our well-stocked cellar.

The Carl-Benz-Stube has been in operation since 1933. It offers you culinary treats between 12:00 and 24:00 each day, and is the ideal spot for a sociable get-together.

• Cancellations: If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged. If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged.

Directions

Arriving by public transport:

The local train stop 'Karlsruhe-Bad Herrenalb' is just a few minutes’ walk away from the hotel. Karlsruhe is an important hub for German high-speed Intercity trains. From Karlsruhe railway station, take a taxi or public transport in the direction of Ettlingen or Bad Herrenalb to get to Marxzell.

Arriving by car:

On the A5 motorway, take the 'Karlsruhe-Ettlingen' exit and go towards Bad Herrenalb

On the A8 motorway from Stuttgart, take the 'Karlsbad' exit, and go towards Bad Herrenalb via Waldbronn and Busenbach.
