This unique and charming hotel is a former convent dating back to the 17th century, lovingly renovated and set within the stunning grounds of a 7 thousand acre working farm.
Now a comfortable and inviting hotel, the restoration of the convent has not compromised any of the original style or character of the building. The attractive grounds offer guests an enticing outdoor pool with sun loungers, rolling lawns and within the estate it has its own reservoir and bird park, dairy farm, bull-ring, stables, pasture lands and interestingly an activity centre offering adventure sports.
All the rooms have been carefully decorated with antique pieces of furniture. The hotel building also houses typical Andalusian interior courtyards, which are small oasis’ where you can sit coolly and quietly out of the sun.
Gerena is situated 23 km from the city of Seville and 35 km from the airport.

Area Information
El Esparragal is a working farm with a surface area over 7 thousand acres. The building is a 17th century Jerome convent and from the ancient Tartessians to the modern Andalusian, El Esparragal has been inhabited by Romans, Visigoths, Muslims and Christians.
Why not take a guided tour of the estate. The paths that link every hamlet, the ruins of ancient villages, the convent, the hot baths, the mills and the mines reveal the way in which each historic civilization learnt to profit from this land. In the company of a qualified guide, you can visit the pure Spanish horse breed, Retinto bulls, the dairy farm (which produces 14 thousand litres of milk daily), as well as the Mediterranean forest (with 14 thousand hectares devoted to game), the mill, the Roman baths and a horse carriage museum.
Other activities available are hunting, horse riding, fishing, mountain biking and walking.
