Room is dated, bathroom needs replacing completely. My Wife is deaf so television needs to be updated to show teletext/subtitles.

Excellent staff. Very helpful and friendly. I left an expensive electric toothbrush at your hotel the week before and the lady on the front deck hounded housekeeping until they found it! Thank you.
The food was disappointing. I had steak twice, both were tuff, salad was not fresh.

"We chose this hotel before we had ever been to Manchester and when we travelled up to bring our son to the university we were pleased with the location. Creaking floors in newer extension of hotel. Could hear people walking on floor above. Not much soundproofing between floors.

smart rooms even if a little dated. bar and staff were good.
on line booking is misleading and needs up dating,I booked a smoking room only to be told on arrival that the hotel was non-smoking.morning paper was forgotten about. but when reminded,gave paper for free. breakfast was not very well served and it was cold.

"I would like to have been reassured that the hotel was quiet, well furnished and abobe the standards of the usual lodge accomodation we use for overnight stays when visiting student children. This hotel had character and the standards of decoration and service were good. The breakfast was particularly peaceful with a well spaced dining room and a buffet with a large variey of choice." The Hotel was better than I had expected for the area. Perfectly acceptable to stay in when visiting student children at University. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to other parents.

Breakfast was excellent. Location good for what I wanted.
Our twin bedroom was on the outside and we only got one hour's sleep due to the very loud noise outside all night. The room was also extremely stuffy so couldn't win - too hot to sleep but too noisy to open the window.

"We've stayed at the Willowbank many times, mainly because of its Convenient location. Rooms are on the small side. Breakfasts are good. On this occasion the bathroom could have been cleaner - a bit of grime around the bottom of the toilet. Unless you get a good deal it's not that cheap. But we will be back because of where it is. "From the moment we entered the hotel,we were made to feel very welcome.The concierge met us at the door,carried in our luggage to the reception and to our room.As we have never had the luxury of a concierge before,this was a very pleasant experience.The purpose of our visit was to go to Old Trafford(ManU),and the location of the hotel was ideal for this,just a short drive away.Also,we went into the city for a night out.To get to and from the city was very easy,as there is a bus service practically outside the hotel.We will definitely like to use the Willowbank again !!" "Although small, my room (97) was quiet and spotlessly clean. Staff were friendly and efficient. Breakfast - excellent cold breakfast choices (lots of choices of stewed fruit, nuts etc as well as cereals and pastries), though the hot breakfast buffet was not as good. Restaurant - pleasant evening meal, and they had made an effort to provide interesting vegetarian options. I would definitely stay here again." (97090549)

Room was modern, had tea/coffee facilities/ hairdryer and decent TV. comfortable bed.
Hotel check in was on the second floor. We had to carry our suitcases up two flights of stairs just to check in. Hotel has no elevator.

"Reception staff were very welcoming and helpful re transport arrangements etc. Restaurant staff were pleasant and polite - service was very good as was the food. The decor was smart and overall the atmosphere was relaxed and homely. Location-wise the hotel was first class close to the motorway and airport with good parking and a regular bus connection to Manchester centre." (97433937)
