None Digusting Hotel Room They do have better, this one stinks , I would NOT let my DOG stay in there, and I don't have a DOG! Steer Clear of this doss house! looks good on the outside but the rooms are lousy, just view the bulding from the back & side and you will see its a hole! leave it, Birmingham has better to offer..........a park Bench would be healthier

ITs Just terrible and utterly depressing. Leave it don't stay here its a health risk!

"Great for an overnight stop as shopping at the Bullring. Can highly recommend the nearby Lychee Garden restaurant for their fantastic buffet." (107164165)

Staff friendly and free parking. Good location.

    No bad points.

  • 8/10 Vicky ( Same sex couple)

"It was practicle for what we needed it for, but it did feel as though they felt that they didn't have to give us a well presented room because we had booked it at £36 for payment at booking, which, in my view is unacceptable. No matter what price a person pays or how long they are staying, the very best of standards should be given at all times, no exceptions." (107818625)

It was a very cosy hotel with a nice atmosphere.

There was Mold around the bath as well as cigerette ash ,some of the panelling lifting from the side of the bath. The bathroom floor had not been cleaned. Only one towel supplied for two guests ( which was stained ) T.V wasn't tuned in propperly... even BBC1 was like looking through a snowy window.

"As it was our honeymoon it just wasn't what we expected and were bitterly disappointed with everything, our honeymoon wasn't even acknowledged by any member of staff." (107747820)

    food was good

leisure facilities inadequate. Staff were not friendly and all of them gave the impression that we were just a statistic and we had to be looked after and not that it was a pleasure to serve us

"Not a good experience. Grossly overpriced for quality of accommodation, which is more like a hostel than a hotel." (107132021)

Hotel was dirty and smelly, apart from the reception area which had clearly been renovated at the expense of the rest of the hotel.

"Adequate hotel but definitely not "Quality". " (107198720)

Availability of gym/ fitness facitities (although gym very small) Attractive bar/ restaurant facilities

Room decor and facilities outdated especially bathroom. Horrible fluorescent tubes as main lighting in room gave harsh and stark utilitarian ambience. Gym too small - only room for one person to effectively do a free weights workout.

"Just needed somewhere to sleep - would not book for a business or family trip." (107218643)

Price & location. Receptionist offered room in quiet area of hotel.

Shaving point not working in bathroom. No morning paper despite earlier email request when booking over the web. Staff looked very pressured. Only 2 reception staff doubling as room service. 5 minute wait while receptionist took external call (after initiating booking in procedure with me). Security cameras at front of building did not cover all of car park - worrying when coupled with police signs saying thieves operated in the area. Very hard bed mattress. No soap in bath soap dispenser.

"Some rooms have been refurbished. Ours had very obviously not been and this did spoil out stay. Would only stay again if I was guaranteed a better room." (107272379)

Reception staff were excellent and handled our complaints with paitence and sympathy. Public areas were clean and looked as though they had been re-furbished

Room sub-standard - bath dirty with a dead wasp in it, material on chair torn and worn, kettle and hairdryer old, pillows hard, banging went on all night and an orchestra rehearsal in a neighbouring building woke us at 8.00 am.

The windows were kept open the whole time and it wasn't even that hot outside-around 20c. The room was in birmingham, don't know if other people have complained about this, but it was very uncomfortable." (97470764)

Clean. Efficient and friendly staff. Good facilities. Bar well equipped and, for a hotel, reasonably priced.

Breakfast buffet expensive for what it was. Many items had been kept warm for a long time and were hard and tasteless

"The worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Room had an awful smell and was not clean." (107107810)

The room was very dirty, toilet did not flush properly, sink got blocked staight away when water was turned on. I would not recomend anyone to stay at this hotel, it has to by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed at and will be making a complaint. The room is in drastic need for improvments. The room also had a awful smell which mean't we had to leave the window open.

"Practical location - around 5-10 mins from where I was appearing that evening. Good parking, enjoyed using the leisure facilities ( although I must say that even these were a little "shabby" -the hotel is in need of some decorating/money spent on upkeep I would say!) But very disappointing bathroom facilities - and the bed wasn't very wide: I was staying alone in a double bed but if there had been 2 of us it would have been a bit small.." (97685688)

extremely helpful desk staff - very quick response when I needed local directions. Most helpful & prompt & much appreciated.

Toilet seat broken! Shower broken! Peeling paint in bathroom, pretty unsightly (I wouldn't have been pleased if I'd paid top whack for the room - I'd have demanded a change of room or some money back as it wasn't "quality" as the hotel name implies!!)

"Apart from the Bedroom the Hotel was good. It looked clean and tidy and the Staff there were very helpful. I would stay at this Hotel again but not in the same sort of room. " (97044613)

The staff were very helpful. Check in was a very quick process and they had the room ready for me by 11.00am which impressed me.

The bedroom that i was in was poor. The shower kept leaking over the bath and the Hairdryer didn't work. The bed was uncomfortable as well.

Efficent. Good barman. Very pretty girls in the swimming pool.

Internet booking multiple rooms only allows selecting smoking for all rooms, and should be on an individual room basis.

clean & roomy apart from the bathroom

The bathroom-it was very clean & had all normal facilities but apart from 1 small shelf which was already full no where to put anything in fact the spare toilet roll & sanitary towel bags were placed on the pedal bin by the maid ready to fly in the air when the pedal was pressed

from Stamford , GB  on  April 30, 2008

"The reception area was untidy. Our room was extremely hot through out the evening and following morning which meant we had to sleep with the window open so the noise from traffic was unbareable! the room had not been cleaned properly as there was dusk everywhere, muck on the carpet and mud on the walls! the shower and bath looked very unclean and the room smelt when we checked in so we had to open the windows to let it air! another thing was that the door handle was falling off. All in all, not a good hotel." (97118420)

from Sandown , GB  on  February 11, 2008

"This hotel was easy to find and there was plenty of (free)parking. Downstairs couldn't be faulted with friendly, helpful staff and good clean facilities. The rooms were a little dated with peeling wallpaper and shabby bathroom fittings however they were clean and tidy. I would stay there again." (97458121)

The food was very good - both breakfast and dinner - and the staff very helpful and friendly. Although there were 'themed' dinners ie Indian, Italian etc., the basic menu was also available for those who prefered.

Although the radiators appeared to be off the room was very hot, to an extent where the windows needed to be open even overnight. The fact that the road was very busy 24/7 and therefore noisy made sleeping quite tricky.

"Generally fair but could be better if the points mentioned above could be addressed and improved upon." (97727823)

Affordable, accessible. Nice staff; they were obviously making great effort to keep us happy. Very responsive.

Two single beds (in the place of a twin bed in a double bedroom!); they kept sliding in opposite directions! The bath tub was broken on the side and there was no ironing board in the room. Breakfast also was a bit of a 'challenge'-there weren't enough tables for guests; we ended up sharing table with another (grumpy!) couple. The food was quite good though!

"By and large, the service was friendly and helpful. There was a sense of the hotel being a 'work in progress' insofar as being spruced up and modernised a bit, but on the right track. The Russian lady providing therapeutic massages was very very good, and really deserved much better facilities than being squeezed into the corner of the leisure centre office, with her workbench being a folded towel on the end of a semi-cleared desk. If she's given a chance, she could be a real asset to the hotel!" (97360247)

We stayed at the hotel in November last year and thought the dinner bed and breakfast package was such good value for money that we overlooked what was lacking in the room." (99496353)
