    Good location, friendly staff, especially in restaurant bar and reception.

    "overall a very pleasant place and a lovely wedding venue. Wedding package was very attractive and food was hot and nicely presented. Disappointing that rooms could not be available before 3pm. wedding time and thought price was agreed at £60 not £70 as we were charged." (3304980419)

    room nicely decorated and modern as well as quite spacious

    room 24 was cold and heating was inadequate,had a damp and musty smell, breakfast was very slow to be served next morning.

    There did not appear to be an extractor fan in the bathroom

    "Excellent a very comfortable stay even though there was a wedding party there it was quiet and welcoming. The restaurant is very good and they make a real effort." (99764755)

    The staff were friendly and the hotel was clean and spacious.

    Some of the decor was out dated in the bedrooms but this is a minor point.

    Bedding was dirty, Kettle was faulty and cups were sticky, after a long journey i would loved to had a nice cup of tea. we were so unhappy about all of this that we didn’t even had breakfast in the hotel.

    Staff effiency and politeness. Food,staff and decor in restaurant were brilliant!

    Location was only drawback, but taxis arrived within 5 minutes.

    "My colleges had rooms facing the front on the first floor which seemed very nice ,i was on the ground floor in avery dark musty room with only one small window facing a hedge.On the bright side the staff all had a good sense of humour and looked after us very well and the food was of a high standard."     "Perfect - couldn't have asked for better for money. Surprisingly good value - wouldn't have expected so much for £30 per person per night.     checking in times. on the internet it said 2 but when we got there you said 3. we had a wedding there at 2.45 and that was the only reason we booked to stay there. had it said on the internet 3 we would not have booked .

    "Room was freezing cold. We did mention this when we checked out, the receptionist said he would have provided a heater if we had advised them of this the night before. We were at a wedding and the drink kept us warm!! It was the morning which was cold. In fairness to the hotel, it was the middle of winter and it was very cold outside." (2981808)

    Nice location and building.

    Bar not open at 9:45 p.m. Lots of noise from the function could be heard in Room 33.

    "I was lucky enough to be upgraded to an executive room which was upstairs in the old building. This was good as all standard rooms are in the courtyard, ie. ground floor. The room was excellent but had neither a shower nor a radio. I was very annoyed that someone started hammering on my door (just as I was getting into the bath!) and that I received no apology for this; it turned out that some prospective wedding customers were being shown 'round."     Lovely old building with many fine original features and very 'period' 1960s extensions. Superb staff. Good food.

    It was not clear at the time of booking that all except the executive rooms are ground floor. Dull bar selection (but real ale pubs within easy walking distance). Stingy tea/coffee tray

    "First impressions of the hotel were that of elegance and comfort. Check- in was warm and welcoming, the accommodation exceeded my expectations and dinner in the restaurant was sublime.     Only one fault was that I forgot to return the key but was prepared to sent it to them by special delivery We were 40mile from the hotel when the discovery was made but insisted we return the key by return to the hotel say they only had ONE KEY for the room?!!!! also threat us with cost of locksmith not good alright I made a mistake but surely there more than one for each room otherwise something is not right unhappy with that incident might give me second thoughts of returning

    A beautiful house that I would have liked to enjoy more - we arrived at almost midnight and left at 7.30 the next morning.

    The decor in our room was so dark - it drained any light away. I would have liked breakfast to been served earlier than 8.30am (I'm pregnant) but they did give us a discount to allow for our early start so were very fair.
