"Overral i enjoyed my stay because of the location of the hotel was really central to Northampton and close the the station. The hotel gave good parking and the room was large and value for money. The staff in the hotel had no customer service training and were rude at every occassion!" (97287435)

I liked the size of the room, and the view! and the location of the hotel.

In the room, the wall paper was peeling off the walls, the bathroom was uninviting and the TV was showing the incorrect time. The staff in the hotel had no customer service and tried to charge us for another night, when we pre-arranged with the hotel for a later check out time! No one was available when ringing down to reception.

There was a drawer full of tea making facilities with biscuits. The bed was large and comfy with fresh smelling laundry. The hotel bar served us till 2am which is always appreciated. A thoroughly enjoyable stay." (97407248)

"THE STAFF WERE VERY HELPFUL, ALTHOUGH WE WERE DISSAPPOINTED TO FIND THAT THE RESTAURANT WAS CLOSED AS THERE WAS A PRIVATE FUNCTION ON, ESPECIALLY AS I MADE A PHONE CALL TO THE HOTEL DURING THAT WEEK TO CHECK IF WE COULD BOOK A MEAL, AND WAS TOLD TO BOOK ON CHECKING IN: AT CHECK IN WE WERE GIVEN A MENU TO LOOK AT BUT ONLY WHEN WE WENT TO BOOK WERE WE TOLD THE RESTAURANT WAS CLOSED: WE THEN DID NOT HAVE MUCH TIME TO MAKE ALTERNATIVE ARRANGEMENTS - WE FELT THIS WAS BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WE ENDED UP HAVE ROOM SERVICE WHICH WAS A GOOD MEAL BUT NOT WHAT WE HAD PLANNED WHEN WE BOOKED THE HOTEL;" (99666648)

  • 5/10 Doreen ( Group of adult friends)

The mattress seemed to slope to one side when you laid on it. The wallpaper in the room was peeling off the walls. The unit which had the t.v on was falling to bits, you could't get the drawers to shut. The curtains were not wide enough to close properly. The room felt and looked scruffy.

When I called reception to ask how to do this, as the instructions did not work, they said they would send soemone up, no one came in the end, that is poor service, for what was quite a pricy room that did not include breakfast." Room a bit too warm, no immediately obvious way of turning down the heating

  • 3/10 Claire ( Group of adult friends)

    from Sunderland , United Kingdom;GB  on  November 1, 2006

The check in process was a farce. I had booked multiple rooms for my group over the interet, but instead o me being able to check in with the 1 booking reference I had, each individual person had to check in seperately, and ad all been booked in by their firs names! The internt booking reference I had meant nothing to the hotel, and it took us over an hour to sort everything out. The hotel also smells.

"Hotel could do with modern air-conditioning & and a good modernisation in the guest rooms (old style 1960s decor), restaurant too hot, drinks at the bar too expensive (£2.50 for tea!! - it's only hot water & a tea bag after all!) But a well run place - convenienantly located in the centre of town." (99006115)

    from Broseley , United Kingdom;GB  on  September 15, 2006

The staff were friendly and service was prompt

I feel the room could do with a make over and have a more modern feel. There was a lot of mechanical noise from the building which kept me up half the night

  • 9/10 Rita ( Family with young children)

    from Birmingham , United Kingdom;GB  on  September 1, 2006

"The Buckingham Suite where the Wedding Reception was held was fantastic. The hotel staff tried very hard to please at all times, they managed to arrange it so that all of our party were in close vicinty in terms of rooms. It would be useful to have known how far we were from the town centre and what useful shops, sites there were within walking distance eg bank, cashpoint local restuarants, as it was we went walkabout the morning after our stay and found these to be in abundance. I liked the hotel overall, I just was not too impressed with the qulaity of the room decor - as stated before they needed a good clean and a makeover - probably in the bright colours that now adorn the front of the hotel -rather than bland/safe beige." (3304710598)

Good car parking - not rushed by staff; really helpful staff also

The rooms need to be updated. They look quite tired and old and could use a makeover.
