    "We're easily pleased." (107231610)

a very pleasant family run hotel, lots of helpful hints on how to access the town etc.

cleaning was only around the bed not under it, previous occupants litter still in bathroom. Bar closed on return to hotel in evening.

"Would definitely recommend and am planning to stay there again next year. " (97070674)

The staff were very friendly and helpful. It really made a difference to our stay. There was plenty of choice at breakfast which really helps when you have children with you. Nothing was too much trouble. When we went out in the evening the staff made sure we had taxi phone numbers and directions to town aswell as a list of restaurants.

"Glad we only booked one night." (108016914)

Never anyone on Reception Desk. Had to go through to kitchen. Cooked breakfast was one of the worst experienced in a Hotel. no seff respecting chef would serve fried eggs with yolks broken and underside cremated. Sausages were deep-fried and unappealing. Mushrooms and tomatoes out of tins? Shower in room 5 was pathetically small and water pressure non-existant.

"it was ok for what we wanted but glad didn't have to spend too much time there, they need to look at health and safety issues with more importantance . it did not spoil our weekend though and the staff tried there best, might use again and hope they have improved" (108091094)

it was somewhere to stay and the taxi service knew where it was. it was a plesent location and looked good

the toliet seat was broken and even though they said it was going to be fixed no effert was made to do it, the breakfast was very badly organised and over cooked, the showers would go cold if more than one room used them, mattress was uncomfortable

"The room we were given was not similar to the room pictured. We spend a miserable night and were so glad we had not booked more. This was the worst of our 19 nights on this vacation." (97277687)

The breakfast was fine and a "full English Breakfast". . .except the apricots had spoiled. The breakfast room was very pleasant. The service was fine. It was handy to be able to sit on the toilet and wash ones hands at the same time since the sink is in your lap. The walls were painted.

A 250 pound man could not possibly take a shower and wash his legs or lower half since it was so small. The room was VERY tasteless or very creative if they used items found in the rubbish. The curtains clashed with the walls. There was no room for walking or putting out ones suitcase. The lighting was poor. The staff was not informative about events in the area and seemed so mystified when we showed her how poor the directions were. We had spent over 2 hours trying to find the place using the directions. Luckily my husband who is a college graduate in geography, has extensively driven when traveling, and by luck found the place.

"as above in first box" (97777016)

the accommodation was clean and tidy the staff were friendly and helpful.there was a good choice for breakfast and plenty of it.the hotel was just 15min walk away from centre which was good because we could see surrounding area of bath aswell as the centre and after a good walk around the centre we could have a peaceful sleep. the info we got from the hotel was good and we visited a few places on way home and they were described correctly. we would use this hotel again.

only snag was there was no lager on tap.

"Overall the hotel seems great. I opted for a four poster bed, as I thought it would be like the one in the photos, but unfortunately it was a metal frame one that took up far too much of the room. I would have been more content with a regular double bed in the room, as the four poster didn't leave much room for moving about. Also, the bathroom smelled very strongly of paint, but that was not a huge concern. Not that I was displeased with my stay, on the contrary, it was a nice, family run hotel where the owners were very friendly and accommodating... I just think that the room we were in needs to lose it's delusions of grandeur!!" (97053611)

Very friendly and helpful staff, nice location, great breakfast!

The room we were in was nicely decorated but far too narrow. Not nearly enough room to fit a four poster in my opinion. If it had been a regular double bed, then it wouldn't have felt nearly as cramped.

"I would recommend this hotel to other people but I would point out to them that it is situated more than 15 minutes (as described) from the town centre. They would also have to be reasonably fit to walk back to the hotel, as it is a very steep climb back up from the city centre. Taxis or buses would have to used." (97761758)

Clean and value for money. Good location. Nice staff...friendly atmosphere.

If I had to say a slight negative it would be that the decor was a little dated but this did not affect the enjoyment of our stay.

Could do with a small refurbishment, shower worked O.K but watch the very hot water & pipes! Poor TV reception. Generally O.K." (99087071)

Quiet hotel with pleasant staff. Decent sized room fairly close to Bath centre. Free car parking.

"Due to flooding we arrived very late after the closure of reception but we telephoned in advance to make arrangements for access which was done. However there was no information in our room about the hotel for example breakfast time. We arrived for breakfast at 0940 but breakfast had finished at 0930, we asked for coffee and a cold pot was served to us but nothing else was offered - not even toast - we managed to get some cereal before it was all removed. Not a good start to the day. This hotel is not good value." (97214961)

    Extra Garden Room - Location

Poor standard of cleaning, lack of attention to customer care eg toilet paper not replenished, dirty cups not cleaned, no information in the room regarding the hotel eg time of breakfast. Towels not changed even though we left them out as requested. General sloppiness regarding service - they seemed to think that they were busy and we should excuse them for their lack of provision.

Lovely character property, in quiet location, easy walking distance to city centre. Easy driving access in and out of city - good directions.

Disappointed that the hotel interior did not match the exterior - didn't quite live up to expectations of a 'period property'.

"The Wentworth House Hotel was a very well run, efficient hotel. The staff were excellent, very polite and helpful. The room was of good quality, if a little small. The bed was enourmous and very comfortable, even the standard rooms have canopied beds. The breakfast was generally very good, with a large selection of cereal and fruit, along with the option of a cooked breakfast. We did not eat dinner at the hotel, so cannot comment on the standard of the evening meals. The walk into town took around 15-20 minutes, though I would recommend getting a taxi back if returning at night. The hotel was undergoing maintainance / painting while we were staying but this did not effect us in any way. Overall, a very pleasant stay and would recommend it to anyone visiting Bath" (99376717)

The owner and staff were very friendly and helpful.

The standard room was quite small, but did have a very large canopied bed in it.

Staff/Owners were extremely friendly and welcoming. The place is very cute and beautiful gardens. Unfortunately our stay was rained out so we didn't get a chance to make the most of the facilities.

We seemed to have a room below the kitchen I think. Lots of noise from footsteps quite early in the morning. Either than or the people above us should go out at 6am for a run rather than run around the bed :)

"The hotel is well located within walking distance of the town centre. (We chose it because it had car parking, which is scarce in Bath.) It is a bit shabby and much of the furnishing has seen better days. Our room had a four poster bed which was a bit of a gimmick that we paid extra for! It would have been better to have a decent shower and fresh tomatoes/mushrooms with breakfast." (99076426)
