"Though some parts of the Hotel is need of updating, I think the helpfulness of the staff and the facilities on offer e.g. the generous breakfast etc. more than make up for any shortfall. I think the Hotel is very good value comparing with some other accommodations we have stayed at before in the area." (97028219)
The two young men at the Reception that day were absoloutely wonderful, kind and could not have been more helpful - thank you.
Nothing major.

"Pratt's Hotel feels roomy and friendly. It felt a more expensive hotel than it was. We really enjoyed staying there and the location is absolutely brilliant. It is about 1 minute from Poultney Bridge and 5 mins from all of the town centre. The only downside of this is that there is no car park - so if you stay several days - beware! The scroungers of Bath council will sting you for loads of money in the car park directly opposite (if I remember rightly about £10 - 12 per weekday and £4 for Sundays. (AND they charge on Bank Holidays!). This is not the fault of the Hotel of course. The only thing which I would perhaps suggest is that they could possibly consider getting some kind of deal with the Council to have car park permits which may work out a bit cheaper. They may have already looked into this already! Nonetheless - if you want to stay in the town centre - this is a great hotel and we recommend it highly." (99497719)

"Great location, quiet. Sloping floor and bed, so we didn't sleep well. Hot water was scalding and couldn't even out temperature in shower. Overall, a nice hotel though and enjoyed the stay despite the two big negatives." (97733820)
Modern fixtures nice bathroom, good breakfast, Excellent location and quiet.
Since it is in a very old bldg, the floor sloped quite a bit, making the bed slope as well. Husband didn't sleep well. The hot water was scalding and of our three couples none of us was able to find a good balance of cold/hot water for a shower.

I thought the decor of the hotel room was very much in the keeping for the period of the hotel. For a single room I was pleasently surprised at the size of it. Staff were very helpful.

Warm welcome. Nicely decorated, spacious room and massive bathroom. Very comfortable bed. Free newspaper
Almost cold shower at 6am was a bit disappointing! Was charged £5 more than price quoted on booking and have no idea why. Was in a ruch at check-in and didn't notice

Location, breakfast upgrade to a suite
Room not ready on arrival at 3.15pm - no complimentary drink or tea or coffe offered. We had just driven for 7 hours and wanted to relax. We were left with the choice of leaving our bag and coming back later. We sat in the bar fo approx 1 hour and got no update during this time

"Firstly, I wish to say that, reception, room etc were perfectly adequate but for £60 BB per night should be. A column headed up to the standard expected would be useful We were a little dissappointed at breakfast - non availablity of a banana and dried fruit rather shrugged off and a cooked breakfast which arrived before the cereal had been eaten was initially placed on the side of the table. A request to take it back to the kitchen to keep hot was readily complied with - but early impressions do count. 360" (97553465)

"Very near the train station, no need for a taxi with wheeled luggage. Very central - about 5 mins walk to Bath Abbey,Roman Baths and shopping area. We were very impressed by the spacious comfortable lounges, perhaps a little shabby for some tastes - traditional decor. Best service we have received anywhere. Luggage minded after we had checked out,so we could enjoy more time in Bath until our train left. We are regular visitors to Bath and will stay here again." (97206679)
Spacious room and a proper bath. No plumbing noises from other rooms

Location in relation to town centre, public transportation.
Though hotel was clean interior has seen better days. Updating interior could easily make this 3 star hotel a 4-5 star hotel.

The room was dirty, the view was non-existent, every time the fire door closed the whole room shook, the bathroom belonged in a different century, the shower had mould growing up the wall and the shower head was broken. The room furniture was scruffy. There was no hot water one morning.

"The overall stay was enjoyable. The other family members had rooms not facing South Parade and consequently were undisturbed by the noise. The staff were excellent and the feel of the hotel was classy as a consequence. The rooms were very clean and well equipped and the restaurant and food were excellent. I would like to have been warned about the difficulty of car parking and been given more information about car parks in the city so that we could have driven straight to the very large Charlotte Street car park having found the recommended one opposite the hotel full and difficult to manouevre around. We relocated to the nearer car park later in the day but wasted quite a lot of time driving round the unfamiliar and congested city." (99343096)
Very good central location. Dinner and breakfast very high standard and staff particularly attentive.
Car parking was very difficult indeed although to be fair we did arrive early on Saturday afternoon. Selection of beers in the bar was poor and expensive. Our room faced South Parade and was very noisy until after 3am because of the taxi rank opposite. To be honest we barely slept.

the authenticity of the decor, furnishings and surroundings were accepted as the charm of staying in an 18th century hotel.
The general decor was in my view quite shabby however authentic, the shower was really challenging, the windows didn't close and the tv remote had dead batteries !!

"Attractive hotel in a typical Bath Georgian terrace; very close to the town centre and river. It's a large and rambling hotel, obviously created out of what were originally three or four separate houses. The public rooms are elegantly decorated, but our room on the top floor was showing signs of wear - not surprising in a building of this age. Parking is in a public car park across the road; this seems to be pretty full on match days." (99890018)

"We had a great time largely because of the convenient position of the hotel and enjoyed leaving the car and walking everywhere. Staff kindly let us eat dinner, even though we arrived in the dining room 10 minutes before they technically closed at 21.30. There was no hassle to finish quickly and dining room staff were great! food good." (99850914)
Very convenient to all Bath's best attractions. town centre, shops, Abbey, Spa all within a few minutes walk. Parking directly opposite,
Fairly tired and basic room, in drab colours. shower tiling tacky and old. could do with a revamp at this price.

Our accomodation was very convenient to the centre, staff were extemely friendly & helpfull, warm, clean & food was excellent. We could not fault this hotel in any way in fact it was much more homelike than so many modern hotels. Will definately return & will look out for other hotels within this company when travelling. Many thanks.
My only dislike was the airconditioning in the bathroom did not function & I omitted to inform the staff on duty oterwise I have no fault whatsoever & neither has my travelling companions.

"It's a well-positioned hotel, very convenient for visitors to Bath, and offering comfortable traditional accommodation at rates which are good value for money. The staff want to make your stay enjoyable; and I watched them deal with a variety of foreigners, many with poor English, with patience, consideration, and a determination to meet their Guests' expectations. Rooms are homely not elegant, but the beds are comfortable, and you have everything you need, to a good standard. Breakfast was generous, and good; and overall we were impressed. Any complaints ? Only one : if you don't know how to cook Black Pudding, it's probably better not to have it on the menu. (Not everyone likes black pudding crisps, after all !) That apart, we recommend it; and will go back." (3305256609)
Friendly and helpful staff, eager to please.
Lack of general maintenance - though nothing serious; paint touch-ups and the like - lowered the overall standard a little.

"I enjoyed my stay in this hotel. There were many positive aspects to the stay, in particular the friendliness of the staff and the great location. The breakfast was good and the room itself was satisfactory, with an excellent (and huge) bathroom. Overall the hotel was good value for money. However, there are two things that could have been improved. Firstly, the bed was a bit small, and in particular the mattress was quite old and lumpy. In addition, there was a problem with the mechanism on the door outside our room which meant that instead of closing quietly it banged quite noisily each time someone went through it. This was not typical of the doors in the hotel but because it was so close to our room it did disturb us. Aside from these two issues our stay was perfect." (3305193705)

"The location of the hotel is great - very easy access to station and all the attractions of Bath. Car parking however is a nightmare, and the nearest car park was full the whole time we were there, so we had to park further away in a not very secure park. The layout of the public rooms was very individual, and if I had had time, I would have loved to relax with a good book there for several hours." (3305236196)
Old world charm, did not feel like part of a chain of hotels. Characterful, and friendly staff. Comfortable bed - good to find a hotel with single rooms at single prices.
The decor was tired, the room smelt smoky and the ensuite needed an overhaul - the plugholes were dirty and the fan did not work.

"There is a nightclub near the hotel which runs well into the early hours of the morning making it very difficult to get to sleep on some nights ( very noisy). The Post office depot is opposite the hotel meaning that you are woken up at 4am by the post men beginning to sort out the post (Monday to Saturday). No air conditioning so you cannot close the windows. The breakfast was OK but nothing special with not very many choices. The hotel itself looked fairly rundown and certainly needs to be updated very soon ( especially the carpets which were unclean and tatty and the beds were extremely old), The shower didn't work properly and there was no ventilation in the toilet." "Large hotel with excellent breakfast and first rate location in the centre of Bath. Public areas were in need of refurbishment, especially the corridors. Room furniture was old but clean and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom shower curtain was difficult to manage and the shower head was low for a tall person. My husband is 6ft 1! However, clean and well suppied. Needed extra shelf space in bathroom to store toiletries for overnight traveller. Lovely towels and plenty of them. Glasses to drink out of would have been useful. Hairdryer weak! Overall, though, good. TIP: when feeding meter of opposite car park, remember the hours between 7pm and 8am are free. Thus if you pay for 6 hours starting at 4pm that lasts until 11am the following day! Not bad then, about 7 pound." (97353141)
Location was excellent; breakfast very good. Room was clean with a very comfortable bed.
Hotel suffered a little from shabby gentility in the public areas but very clean in rooms.
