Rooms are variable - we often stay at this hotel and when given one of the better rooms the value for money is good - occasionally one ends up in a cramped and/or noisy one, but location is good and there is some parking available.

"Hotel was dissapointing given the cost. " (107175249)

Was central for our visit and close to facilities, Retuarants etc . On a bus route, and close to a station.

The hotel had a tired feeling about it, the lifts took forever to come, we used the stairs most times. Breakfast was poor, not very hot, toast was not fresh, coffee was stewed in the pots.

Good clean rooms and nicely presented hotel - easy check in with friendly staff.

"Comparing the good with the bad, I would still side with all things good. It is a great value and fantastic location. Frankly, I only refreshed & rested in my room - my time was spent exploring London. It is a very short walk to the Chalk Farm tube and to the Roundhouse / Camden Town - where I saw all of the My Bloody Valentine shows. It is in a quiet neighborhood and easily accessible to quaint bakeries, beautiful parks, traditional pubs, and ample groceries. Bus lines stop out front. It is a safe, relatively clean, & friendly hotel - if you have high expectations then keep surfing for options that better serve those requirements. I came here for the value & location and was pleasantly surprised by services that were excellent. I will visit again and have already recommended them to my friends. A truly great value in a great location." (97189430)

It the ease & comfort of booking my reservation online. Staff were very friendly & extremely accommodating. Uncommonly trustworthy & honest room service. Fantastic Hampstead location, reasonably quiet, and terrific value. Great balcony with eastern city views. Plentiful storage, outlets, and linens.

My room could stand to be updated with new or shampooed carpet, bed covering, blanket, drapes, & chair. Stains were bountiful but I easily worked around them with self-consciousness, towels, and/or removal - not a terrible compromise, I think. Balcony door wasn't secure - would open on its own with any headwind - I secured it with cord. All complaints were indicative of heavy use and are understandable to me but I can see where some could find it objectionable, if not concerning and/or mildly repulsive. However, it is a great value and you should reflect on that before complaining - there are no promises of five star accommodations here.

"The hotel was very well located and in an emergency are lack of other hotels I can see why people would stay there, however I found it to be over priced with poor service." (108077899)

The Staff where quite friendly and helpfull, the room had a good view of the city, and the bathroom had everything that I needed.

I had serious issues with the cleanliness of the room, there was quite a worrying looking stain on the duvet cover, the room was very outdated and a little smelly, there was a spider in the shower, and the TV had very poor reception.

"Disappointed with general standard of hotel for the price paid." (97466937)

    1. Staff command of English in some cases not good 2. Staff level of customer service unsatisfactory 3. Hotel offered room service but breakfast ordered arrived half hour late - too late - and in any case was missing at least half of items ordered! Second morning it arrived 20 minutes early when I was in the shower! 4. Hotel rooms very warm - no air conditioning 5. Beds uncomfortable: mattresses need replacing and sheets barely fitted properly

Good location, nice to have a drink on terrace. Bathroom was clean.

Absolutely no air conditioning, decor and furniture very dated- although cotton sheets were clean didnt like the flowered throw over the top of bed. Also, could not shut the top window very noisy and windows and surrounds looked dirty.

The hotel is very clean and the personel really gentle. There always one person staying at the reception, so that you can return at the hotel even during night. The only bad thing is about some persons of the cleaning staff, doing stupid things in the corridor." (97161626)

"I was confused when we booked in as we were asked to pay for the room and I thought that when I gave my credit card details on line that the booking confirmation was my receipt of payment and that the money had been taken. I do not remember reading that giving my credit card details was only achieving booking my room. What happens to these details after our stay?(See above for my main reveiw.)It was a nice touch to have the free news papers for guests. The guys appreciated the T.V. in the bar for the football. This hotel in an ideal base for a couple of nights stop over but not suitable for a longer stay." (97360992)

Quick friendly check in. good lift. Our room was adequate for our stay and the beds we reasonably comfortable. There were extra blankets and pillows in the wardrobe which was useful. It was nice to have a large coffe table and a T.V. Nice view over london from our large bedroom window.

A bit old fashioned decor/furniture. Waitor in restaurant is not friendly and told us that we were not allowed to sit at the table we chose in an empty restaurant because it was a lunch time table!! H e was very efficient but lacked a welcoming smile and demeanor(I felt like a naughty school girl and my mum thought she was in an episode of Faulty Towers!!)The only diffence was that it had 2 glasses on it. The lighting in this hotel is drab. The hotel lacks atmoshere it felt like a ghost town a bit on the creapy side.. Bar staff efficient. The restaurant was freezing cold in the evening we had to keep our jackets on to eat our supper. The chips were so dry I got indigestion. Our room was a bit drafty but was warm enough. Our kettle did not work properly and there was insufficient milk supplies for 2 people.

We have stayed here before and the rooms are very variable - if you are lucky its good value, if not its pretty awful" (97297051)

On this occasion the room was large but and well equiped except for absence of a minibar

Suited my needs - the room and bathroom were warm and comfortable. Reception were quick to order me a taxi which arrived 10 minutes early, which was better than late!

The Continental breakfast was a huge disapointment. The waiter in charge was unsmiling and disinterested. At first only small rolls were on offer. These were dry and uneatable. When some croissants appeared they were flat, cold and equally uneatable. No-one came to ask how things were.

clean, in a safe area with good public transport and restaurants cafes nearby. near to where I was attending a course. other guests on my floor were drunk and noisy on one night of my stay and had kept me awake for almost an hour. "The meal we had on our first night was totally sub standard, the soup has a thick skin on it, the bread rolls supplied was frozen, the salmon was served with Tartar sauce. We ordered a half bottle of Chablisand was serves with a full bottle, the waitress has little training in opening wine and in fact she did not serve it. The restaurant manager deducted £3.50 for 1 of our first courses as he knew it was sub standard. To top it all we were asked could we hurry up and leave as they were due to close the restuarant !!" (97114754)

The location was ideal for my needs on this particular visit, relocating my daughter back to drama school.

With a good location it is such a shame that the restuarant was so poor, also on returning back from a day out I was unable to order a drink at the bar and charge it to my room. Also we stayed on an extra night and were constantly badgered to make payment, it felt like total mistrust on the hotels part.

The heating during the winter night was also not adequate. The room service menu might have improved --- the tray charge practically doubled the charge of menu items. But overall very good indeed." More specifically when a friend had a specific problem he needed help with, the receptionist was very unwilling at first to help, she had to be persuaded into action. However, because we were only staying for one night, and it was fairly cheap for London standards it suited our purpose well- the rooms were basic but clean and functional, if a little dated!" The room and bathroom were clean and tidy, with plenty of closet space for clothes and suitcases

The room was very cold even though the radiator was on full. This is something that needs to be addressed especially in winter. Our bathroom sink also appeared to be blocked.
