"All in all a good stay, friendly staff, excellent breakfast and our evening meal in the bistro was nice too. Cleanliness good and a very comfortable 4 poster bed. Rooms a bit dated but staying in this part of the world, the room decor isn't that important." (99208873)
clean accomodation, comfortable bed, very friendly staff and excellent breakfast

"I was slightly apprehensive because of the availabilty and cheapness of the hotel on a Bank Holiday weekend when everywhere else appeared to be booked up but I was pleasantly surprised. We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay in a spacious, more than adaquate room. There was absolutely nothing we could fault except for the wine list (we were celebrating and wanted something special) the staff were lovely and very child friendly with my 6 year old. I would have been quite happy to have paid far more for the room we were given!" (99464374)
Very clean, very friendly, surprisingly cheap!
Very limited wine list.

"The accommodation was reasonable. It was a bit isolated but we did like the quiet. There were not many people there so there was no atmosphere in the Dining Room, but the food was good." (99304420)
It was very quiet. The Food was good. The accommodation was reasonably comfortable.
The bed in our first bedroom was very uncomfortable. It creaked everytime we turned over, so I did not sleep very well the first night, also the toilet leaked onto the floor. However, after complaining the next morning we were moved to another room where the bed was better.

The beds were awful; poor mattresses laying directly on slats. Worst beds ever. Bugs in room. Meals awful and overpriced

"The hotel is ok, the rooms clean and comfortable enough. We only stayed here for one night and I wouldn't like to stay much longer. There are many B&B's in the surrounding area which offer better value and quality then this hotel. Nothing wrong fundamentaly but it could do a little better and do with a face lift." (99674019)
The view, surrounding countryside and the staff
the hotel is a little worn out and grubby

Clean and convenient. We had a dog with usand being on the ground floor was a bonus.
Shower lacked oomph - apart from that fine

"The dampness and the grotty image gave the impression that everything was dirty. Smells were ineffectively masked by chemical air freshners - another health hazard. We had a young baby with us and I could not let him down on the floor at all. We would have refused to stay only we were on a stop over for the ferry at Holyhead and had arrived too late to start looking elsewhere as the children needed to sleep." (3305012028)
The location
The standard was grotty. The reception and rooms gave the general impression that they were dirty and overdue a make over. Everything was a big disappointment.

"The staff worked hard to make our stay enjoyable. They were very friendly. The rooms fairly cold at night. The hotel and grounds felt very safe and was nice and quiet at night. The breakfast was excellent, there were all options, from fruit and continental breakfasts, to full English. All in all I believe we had good value for our money." (3305138122)
The accommodation was very clean and the room was cleaned and polished evry day. The food in the Restaurant especially the lamb was very good. The staff never rushed you, we could have taken all night in the restaurant if we wanted.
The matress was quite lumpy.

"After initial disappointment, hotel not being what we had expected, overall it was fair value for money. Food was pretty good, plentiful and reasonably priced. Hotel is having a hard time competing with the large chains, and this shows in the somewhat run down appearance of the business; although attempts are being made to modernize. Staff were friendly and helpful." (3304104687)
Excellent location and friendly staff.
A bit of a let down after a 6 hour drive. Not what we expected for the price in a rural area.

"I would rate this as a reasonable stopover for business travellers. It is adequate for a one night stop. I would nor consider it as a holiday base. The staff were very pleasant and the food was generally good. The general location was ideal for the regional attractions. In general a very fair commercial hotel/motel." (3304880869)
Rooms and bathrooms were clean and tidy.Restaurant was reasonable for dinner, but very good for breakfast.
The reception was not attended (had to ring from reception to call someone to book us in) and generally had the air of a Motel rather than an hotel. Driveway could use some repair and care.

"The whole experience was unique. The quirkiness of the head waiter was endearing and at the same time amusing. This is in no way a criticism, more a compliment to the efforts he made, often without assistance, at a busy time for the hotel. The management were friendly and efficient and accommodating in terms of menu choice when apparently only the set menu was available." (3304707133)
The friendliness of staff and the uniqueness of the environment.
The establishment needs a bit of a makeover in parts given the fitting of the bedroom windows and the erratic behaviour of the central heating.

"Staff were very freindly. Rooms very clean and tidy. Not all rooms are allocated to the website. A telephone call would have been more beneficial in my case. I had two rooms in two nights, one with a very soft mattress. Double rooms were not of sufficient size to accommodate wardrobes. The clothes hanging space was covered by a hand drawn curtain. Bar prices were very competitive for a hotel." (3304754594)
Large car park, easy to find, taxi's readily available.
Only carvery available for Sunday night dinner.

"The good stuff first: The staff are absolutely outstanding; nice people and very helpful. Breakfasts were great and the bar/restaurant has a nice, if quirky, atmosphere - it's a pleasant place for a nightcap and the menu is reasonable. The niggles: The hotel is more 'Motel' than 'Hotel' and is a little shabby here and there. The so-called four-poster bed was just a tubular frame and lace cover around a regular divan, so not worth the extra cost. There were also problems with hot water and shower pressure while we were there, but that seems to have been just due to a central heating pump fault, so was probably just an unfortunate one-off. Minor problems aside, it was still a pleasant stay and the welcoming staff make up for a lot of the niggles." (3304102892)
Staff were wonderful - friendly and willing to go out of their way to be helpful.
So-called 4-poster bed was just a cheap frame. Hot water luke-warm at best for most of our stay.

"In general we were disappointed with the stay and if it had been for longer would have moved hotels. The problem with the heating was remedied on the second night but it could and should have been sorted on the first night if staff had been available (they were not). The hotel seems to have good potential but it is not at present being met." (3304364769)
It was in a convenient place near to where we wanted to be. There was plenty of parking albeit the drive was potholed. Breakfast was large and well prepared. The staff were friendly.
During a bitterly cold period the heating turned off at about 8:45 on the first night. This prevented my wife doing work on her family history project. The furniture was in a bad state of maintenance especially the four poster bed supports. The television was small with limited choice The grounds were in a poor state of repair especially the drive How to contact duty staff was not clearly indicated and they could not be contacted after 8:30 pm

Clean, reasonable value for money. easy to find, good location for access to Snowdonia and area.
Restaurant Food needs to be better to match literature. Staff training in restaurant was poor as food took too long to order and then to come when ordered. More focus on customer needed to improve service.

Our accommodation was adequate, warm and clean.
There were no wardrobe facilities in any of the rooms we booked, a headboard,a window and a chair were broken which made life difficult for my parents (they are both disabled)
