"Sort of OK but more attention to detail needed. E.g. The only form of light in the room operated from a switch near the door. No bedside lamp. Furniture piled behind a limp curtain in the entrance hall looked shoddy. Building work going on in the reception area. Oh dear, this makes it sound awful, which in some ways it was not. However the breakfasts....." (97489327)

    Clean spacious room

Breakfasts were a joke. Cramped verandah served as dining room with inadequate facilities for the staff to serve. It was understaffed. The choice was appalling - tea (which I asked for but it never arrived) or instant(!) coffee, cereal and toast. I felt sorry for the staff trying to work under such conditions. We left without finishing, we should have left as soon as we saw it!

Convenience to tube and busses. Pleasant view of Shepherds Bush Green.

An additional set of clean towels was not available during our four day stay

"Okay for the price, but not exceptional." (108057115)

It was secure, clean, comfortable and within easy reach of the Shepherds Bush Empire.

We were sent to the hotel next door because the Grantly was over-booked. We were not told why. In that establishment we were obliged to pay in cash, and the 'double bed' was actually just a large single.

all staff were friendly and polite and gave excellent service. hotel in prime location if using tube/bus to travel to inner london. staff allowed us to utilise their limited car parking bays even after we checked out.

room was not ready on our arrival at 2pm. however, staff prepared it within 30 mins

Very, very useful for gigs at the Empire. You could literally stumble home 15 secs after you left. Reasonable rates. Friendly staff.

Tiny room and possibly the smallest bathroom I've ever seen. Surcharge for paying by card.

"It was ideal for closeness for the gig but would consider other hotel options in the future." (97950194)

The hotel location was ideal as it was across the road from the Shepherds Bush Empire where we went to see a gig. It was very noisy but to be expected considering its central loaction.

Reception staff were not very friendly when we checked in and they asked for full payment up front which I was not happy about!! I have never been asked to pay for my stay before I have even seen my room. They were also working on upgrading the hotel at the time of the stay which caused additional noise within the hotel. The room was clean but very small, and the bathroom was tiny with half a toilet roll of hard paper!!!! They had tea and coffee cups but no kettle or tea/coffee condiments.

"The room was small and basic, but adequade for my one night stay. The bathroom however was very small and extremely cramped, hardly suitable for a regular size man and absolutely not recommended for a plus size person! My room had a refridgerator which was very dirty and smelly as well. Also the room was freezing cold during the night. The breakfast was good for what it was, nothing fancy, but good toast, tea and warm croissants." (97367938)

The location is good and the price is reasonable.

Room was not very clean and bathroom extremely small.

"The hotel was not up to standard. The bathroom was poor and the bedding and sheets were stained. There was construction going on in reception which also made the place look very untidy (we were not aware of this work prior to stay). We ended up only staying one night even though we booked for three. We moved to a neighbouring hotel for the duration of our stay after the first night." (97063226)

The staff was extremely helpful and went above and beyond to help us. The bathroom was very nice in our hotel room. Our favorite was the breakfast! We recieved toast, cereal, coffee, and the best orange juice we've ever had! The atmosphere was very nice.

The only thing we disliked was the stairs up to our room. The hotel did not have a lift.

Proximity to leisure amenities (Shepherds Bush Empire)

Some plug sockets in the room were loose and dangerous. The shower drain-away was blocked and could have flooded the bathroom floor. There was a leak in the hand-basin. I could not lock the latch on the room door.

As a place to spend the night after a gig at the Empire it was ok. The staff seemed friendly enough. The MAJOR plus for the hotel was the free parking." (97981237)

"There was no hurry to clean up the room from the previous occupants for our 2 pm check-in (March 6). When the room was ready for real occupancy later that afternoon, the trash hadn't been emptied, and the bathroom floor had not been cleaned for some time (faint urine smell in bathroom). Better on subsequent days. Heat difficult to control. Breakfast service was fine. My recommendation is weak, but it was overall OK for the circumstances. One person (owner? manager?) was quite attentive; the other at check-in was not as friendly or helpful." (97058972)

"While understood to be probably unfortunate in timing, where apparent problems existed relating to heating and the adjustment of it etc., no choice but to bear overwhelming heat through the night, sleeping ON the bed rather than in it. Along with having to have window open all night to add to this, sirens at sporadic intervals throughout and so on...and to think, we were located at 'peaceful' end of the complex! However, like I said, probably unfortunate and hope for better luck next time." (97716339)

such closeness to venue visiting, makes the convenience an obvious main advantage

"The Grantly is a fine budget Hotel. You dont get frills but what you do get is good value for a Hotel in London.I was attending a concert in the Shepherds Bush Empire and only staying one night. The Grantly was more than adequate for this purpose.I was very satisfied with my choice of the Grantly. My room was small but very good value for a London Hotel. The Empire is about a two minute walk from the Hotel and so its ideal for concert goers." (97090700)

The room was small but clean and as I was only staying one night this was more than adequate

Room was small but the price was very reasonable so I think that I got a very good price to compensate for this. This was fine by me.

The room was ok for our needs but cramped, the furniture was tired and the tv on its way out!We had been left 2 teabags and a lot of sugar, had to ask for coffee and milk. Bags of washing( clean) was piled outside our room,The windowns in our room could not be left open as they had no restrictor on them and someone could have climbed in. The service at breakfast was hopeless and would have been better self service that way we would have had service. This hotel needs a good overhaul and staff training" (97549243)

We were just a bit shocked at how small the room and bathroom were - on leaving the shower you have to fit between the shower door and WC which was interesting !!!. Should have guessed as the room rate was a little lower than the alternatives." (97834658)

The room was probably the smallest room that we have ever stayed in and the decoration looked tired

"The staff were very pleasant and the hotel was clean - the breakfast was basic but reasonable. Being able to park car at hotel was a must for us and so this was a great service to offer. The main downside was the size of the bathroom which I feel was bordering on the unsafe as it was so small and impossible to move around in without crouching and bending. That said the shower itself was fine with good supply of hot water. I would only stay here again if I needed to park a car during stay." (97196623)

Location for Olympia Exhibition Centre (a nice 15 min walk) and being able to park car securely on hotel location. Room was very clean.

Noisy at night - on busy main road - small room and double bed - a terribly small bathroom where one couldn't stand at the sink straight up without backs of legs pressing against toilet and arms touching shower door - it was clean though.

This hotel needs to get new mattresses immediately. No one shuodl avhe to pay tht money to sleep on such dismal mattresses with springs stickign up and hard as rocks.
