"The hotel was adequate for the purpose of our stay but if staying more than one night I would not use it as the bathroom facilities were not up to scratch. e.g. toilet seat was falling apart and gave the impression that it harboured a multitude of germlife. For a 1 night stay close to the Emirates it was ok." (97354261)

Close to Tube Station and Emirates Stadium.

    Bathroom facilities in poor condition.

"I detested every second and thoroughly recommend you remove this hotel from your site." (107215770)

The receptionist. He actually helped me find somewhere else on the second night and happily refunded my second night's fee as he'd had so many complaints by that point he had given up trying to defend the hotel.

The room, the bathroom, the shower that blocked and flooded the room. The breakfast which was laughable (toast and squash - yes that's a very weak orange squash).

bathroom had mould, tv couldnt be turned down as remote broken, only one pillow each. hole in wall, broken drawers...breakfast sparse and not 'continental' toast and sweaty cheese slices!!

On the whole the reception was ok. The people were nice

I thought the rooms needed a bit more, my bathroom was licking, the TV only had channels 1-5 & where the tele was could easily hit someone in the head. The cubicle for the shower was too tiny. I didn't quite like the fact that the breakfast was continental when we are in England.

    Location to facilities, breakfast.

No proper greeting on arrival staff member looked too tired to bother, damage to door frame resulting in door not properly closing, marks and bits on carpet. Noise from what sounded like the heating boiler all night. Mucus marks on wall at side of bed.

But there is good secure parking which is a bonus, so for our stay if was fine. If visiting teh Emirates again I would book to stay here just because of its location" (97665962)

The bathroom and bed were kept clean and clean linens everyday. Central location to the underground.

Filthy walls - looked like muddy water had been splashed all over them. You could not make phone calls from your room. The breakfast was toast, cheese (one choice only), jelly and tea or coffee.

"As already stated, check-in and check-out was efficient and at good/convenient times. Having booked it 2 weeks previously, we were surprised to be told on arrival that the only rooms left were at the back- as if we were too late in the day to get a front room (we got what was left over!). I would expect this if I had called that day, but when we booked there were lots of rooms left and when I booked and paid I would expect a specific room to be kept for me. Having said that, I was very pleased that we did get that room. It was extremely comfortable- LOVELY bed and bedding_, with good TV, etc and lovely and quiet. First hotel we have stayed in for years that has had enough coffee and tea for more than 1 cup each- EXCELLENT!! Also good bathroom, though I would look at the shower tray- shower was perfectly hot and powerful, but the tray filled too quickly. It did not flood but I'm not sure I'd trust it for a longer shower. I would definitely recommend you to anyone staying in London. Thanks very much." (97419746)

Very comfortable bed. Easy to check in and out at good times. Perfectly situated- also carpark is very useful and feels totally secure. Would definitely recommend to others.

Lovely, hot and powerful shower but shower basin filled up too quickly and could've flooded out....it did not, but I wouldn't trust it for a longer shower.

"Given the clues about the building, I think it used to be a Comfort Inn, but it's easy to see the quality has slipped a LOT. The breakfast room was down a flight of stairs, out a courtyard, through a parking lot, across a loading zone, into another part of the hotel, and down a flight of stairs. After all that, I'd hoped to find at least a basket of fruit, but the breakfast was stingy. Having said all the above, it's about was 60 pounds a night will get you in London." (97523997)

The bed was quite nice and the floors were very clean.

DON'T STAY HERE. The shower was completely covered in mould, the drain clogged and actually overflowed onto the floor, the ceilings were stained with water damage, the walls were in desperate need of a paint, the window casings were covered in mould, the telly did not work, and I had a terrible feeling I was being watched. The breakfast was meager at best (white bread, two kinds of cereal, instant coffee, and some sort of artificially flavoured orange drink). The hotel was also in a skeevy part of town, near Finsbury Station, and the staff spoke broken English and seemed resentful of having to wait on me at all.

The hotel is convenient in term of price. I would recommend the Penbury to people with short budget and to week-end travellers on Ryanair flights who will find the hotel on the way from/to Stanstead airp.

The bathroom smells; tiles, sink, taps are old and in bad conditions. The lamp above the bed is out of order, there's no bed side table and no mirror in the bedroom. The bright green color of the walls don't save you from dreary impression.

It is in a very good location, handy for the restaurants on Blackstock Road, Finsbury Park itself and the stop for the no. 29 bus to Trafalgar Square. It has secure parking and isn't in the congestion charging zone.

Two of the bedroom lights were broken. The windows had greasy hand prints all over them. The bedroom door had been broken and bodged together. Breakfast was a complete waste of time. In general this hotel felt like a bail hostel!" (97254274)

There were REALLY dodgy stains on the walls above the bed, on the bed frame and on the carpet, the TV was broken, the sink was so small you cudn't even get a small glass in it to fill it up with water, the window was completley barred up. i tried to get an extra sheet and pillows but was told the room they were in was locked and only the cleaners had a key. The breakfast was not continental, you have to pay for anything other than toast and cornflakes (sainsburys ones too!) the coffee machines were broken but i had to find the urn that was on offer. The location was excellant though, really easy to find, good off road parking, the tube was a 2 minute walk away... It was ok for one night but we won't be stopping there again!" (99928777)

The breakfast area was in another building away from the main hotel and wasn't of a standard that I was expecting. The continental breakfast on offer consisted of either Corn Flakes or Toast, and that was it. Overall though it was good value, comfortable and ideal if you just need somewhere to sleep short term."
