"The pictures on the web site were very misleading. My room was an orange box with a wet room in a cupboard! None of the staff spoke good english and everything seemed to b e too much of an effort for them even when I asked for more tea and milk. The park out side the hotel seemed to attract various drunks and drug adicts that spent most of the night shouting and swearing at each other!" (97681980)
Location
Size and colour of the room. Not enough tea and coffee etc. Staff spoke poor english and weren't very helpful everything seemed to be an effort!

"Absolute rubbish. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone." (97467320)
The fact that you had to check in at a different hotel to get to yours. There was only 4 breakfast tables, when the hotel had at least 12 rooms, so when we went for breakfast (which was part of our package), we were told to wait, or leave. The rooms were tiny, very misleading from the online photographs. The rooms were overly hot, even with the window open and the fan on full. The staff were very rude.

"This hotel,in my opinion, completely misrepresents itself as a boutique hotel. It is nothing of the sort. My room was tiny and poorly equipped, the staff were far from friendly, breakfast was awful. I would personally never use this hotel again. It offers poor value for money." (97996339)
Everything. The room was tiny, no more than 9 x7 for a double room! It was poorly equipped, the 'traditional oak flooring' most likely came from B&Q, the receptionist was rude. I was under the impression that the hotel was paid for as the website had asked for card details. The receptionist basically told me to pay up in cash there and then or leave. Fortunately as it turned out it wasn't paid I only needed to stay for one night rather than the two I had booked. The breakfast was inadequate and poor quality. I will never use this hotel again.

"Nice last hotel with quiet and clean room. Parking available free on street from 18.30 to 08.30." (108060605)
Clean facilities. Recently modernised.
Redirected to hotel across street to check in. Then given key and redirected to hotel next door. No word on where to go or what time for breakfast. No one around at last hotel and no one around at reception of second or first hotels when checking out.

The location of the hotel is only steps away from Kings Cross Tube Station.
I had booked at the Albion Hotel and, upon my arrival, was moved to the Excelsior Hotel (the reason given: no rooms available, even though I had booked one online and received confirmation of my booking). I was told the Excelsior was one of the adjacent hotels owned by the Hotel Group and had identical rooms, etc, to the Albion. To me, this was unsettling; even if the rooms are identical, I had booked a room in the Albion and that was where I should have been placed. To iron my clothing, I had to take them from the Excelsior Hotel to the Melbourne; to have my continental breakfast, I had to walk from the Excelsior Hotel to the Albion Hotel--both of these activities involed going outside in the rain from one hotel to the next. This was such a bother.

"For an overnight stay in a handy location this hotel was all you could ask for - I would definately stay here again" (97979332)
The hotel and romms were extremely clean and well furnished. Although the bathroom was more of a wetroom it was clean and had everything you needed.
Breakfast was poor with bad service - in the end I left and went out to get breakfast

"Good value, clean and quite hotel would stay again no problem." (97721475)
Chose hotel as was convenient for visiting the Emirates stadium in North London,we were impressed with the location in relation to the underground and how quite it was for being in the centre of the city.
The hotel reception and dining area was situated in a seperate building to the rooms we were allocated, but wasnt very far away so not a serious problem really.

"The hotel, which could actually be one of 3 or 4 buildings in the square, offers good value for the budget traveler. It is close to St Pancras station and the tube and includes a minimalist breakfast. The room was clean, recently renovated with updated furnishings and the shower was hot with good water flow. Downside is infiltrating noise through the walls, doors and windows, earplugs recommended for sleeping." (97698959)
The room was clean and recent renovations to the building were evident. Included breakfast was adequate.
Paper thin walls between the rooms, lack of a lift.

We reserved a quad room (2 adults and 2 children) the room was certainly a lot larger than other quad rooms we've stayed in. The room was clean and there was also a kettle to make a cup of tea.
The shower was very small and all the bathroom floor ended up in a pool of water. The breakfast room is too small, people had to queue and wait to get a table and the breakfast wasn't really worth the bother.

"See above. We didn't really spend long in the room as we were out all day and most of the evening. So it was adequate for our needs. The rooms do seem expensive for the standard, but we realise you have to pay much more for a London hotel." (97662231)
Internal decor was nice, halls and landing clean. tea, coffe and hair dryer and tv. Location was quiet.
We found several live bed bugs. Not good for a hotel. Also the breakfast was very poor with virtually no choice.

Overall clean (apart from the shower head) and central for Kings Cross
The 'en-suite' facilities in the single rooms were a joke, a shower head that was filthy and practically over the toilet (wet room style, you could wash yourself whilst sat on the loo!) and a sink with 2 cold taps and no plug. The single beds were almost child size, 2' 6 wide, not the standard 3', very disappointed.

"I would not recommend this hotel for a single woman to stay, as it was very worrying being taken into 3 different hotels late at night. Plus I was pregnent and nobody offered to carry my bags between the various hotels or even up the 2 flights of stairs. Didn't know where to go for the breakfast which was included in the price as I was so disorientated from the evening, so ended up buying that later on in the morning elsewhere." (99615506)
Clean, Tidy and had its own ensuite facility
Checking in process. Arrived at the hotel only to be told that I had to check in in another hotel, then once that was done I was taken to another hotel, which as far as I was aware was not Albion Place

"Checking in at a different hotel is a bit of a pain - booking confirmation didn't mention this at all. Didn't end up staying at Albion House, but a sister hotel instead as there was a room there which was vacant and I was told it was nicer. Not a bad experience - worth it if you just want a room to crash in and aren't too fussy about the overall experience. Tiny single rooms wouldn't be good for large or tall people!" (97283873)
Clean, warm, central location.
Tiny room, even tinier bathroom. Couldn't turn up the TV volume - seemed to have been fixed at a whisper, maybe because the walls are thin!

It was also 2 minutes walk from the nearest underground but on a quiet street. I had to pay the money on check-in which I did not like but luckily the room was adequate." (97430944)

Close to Kings Cross station
Confusing check-in process: check-in at one hotel only to be roomed in another; breakfast over the road at a third hotel. TV in room not working. Room cold and noisy. Breakfast reasonable and washing facilities also.

Great location. Certain aspects of the interior were nice
My room was in the basement, and when guests in adjoining room had their window open I could hear every movement and word they said. It was a triple occupancy room so they noise levels meant I didn't get much peace.

"The location is excellent, near to facilities but tucked away down a quiet street. The room had been fairly recently refurbished and was clean and comfortable. Within the room everything was OK, though small, we had plenty of room. However, the hotel is actually a number of hotels (at least three, that we visited) on the same street. We had to go to one for reception, our room was in another, and breakfast was served in a third. Breakfast was a joke, a tiny dining room (5 tables at most) serving up breakfast for all the people, from all the rooms in at least three hotels ... this meant, lots of standing around waiting before you could enjoy your tea/coffee and a slice of toast ... barely worth the wait. Overall, OK for what we wanted, however, we chose this over other hotels because breakfast was included, if that matters to you ... try elsewhere!" (99481212)

However they were installing a new lock on our room door which was a plus point. The receptionist could have welcomed us with a smile!" (97940773)
Refurbished room, breakfast was good
The shower design which was directly overhead and therefore very difficult for my wife to avoid getting her hair wet. Also the kettle would only work if you pressed down on it.
