Just very old fashioned and in need of a refurb, alos the gym was a waste of time with 1bike and 1 treadmil no weights

The rooms were warm & stuffy, the beds hard. The 24hr bar was a nightmare. The person on duty showed little or no customer service in fact ripped us off for £23 for 4 drinks. Appeared iritated discpite the bar area being full did not want to serve anyone. One of our party filled ii the room questionair though doubtful any action will be taken.

"I would like to have known that the bulk of the accommodation was not in the main body of the hotel. I did not like having to walk out the back to my room, up a dirty stairwell into a dirty room,it reeked of smoke and the bedspreads and carpets were dirty. Having asked for another room we were given a very nice room, there was no comaprison, but I feel we should not have had to ask for a better room, they should all be of the same standard. The staff were excellent and handled the situation very professionally." (97060502)

the convenience of being near a tube station.

The initial room we were given was absolutely dreadful, it reeked of smoke and the bedspreads and carpets were dirty.

    Centrally located for my business

The attached restaraunt is a local indian, hence the smell within the hotel. in fairness we did eat in the hotel due to time constraints and whislt we did not have indian food, the food was quite good.

I had to go and demand clean sheets which i then put on myself. however cheap a hotel is, you expect clean sheets!!" (97132128)

  • 7/10 Janet ( Young couple)

it was comfortable and ideal for a one night stay.

being woken up at 8am by cleaners trying to get into the room and the fact that they kept coming back. as check out was not until 11am they were a little over zealous and when we were leaving they had piles of laundry behind the doors to the stairs making them hard to push open and anybody coming down the stairs from the floors above would have to climb over this.

The fact there are still some places in this country, where you can find accomadation with smoking facilities. It's nice to relax and enjoy a cigarette, and not be made to feel like an outcast.

One small gripe, the shower!. Not powerful enough, and the water temperature kept adjusting itself (too hot/too cold).

"The hotel is basic and in room facilities are quite poor. The good thing about the hotel is it is cheap and with good travel links into Central London. If you are looking for somewhere cheap to stay and you dont expect too much then this hotel is fine, anything other than this though and you may be disappointed." (99375479)

facilities are basic and some damp in our room. bathroom small and evidence of dampness.

"Accomodation is very basic the room was dimly lit and not particulary well appointed, the staff were very helpful." (99662730)

    Location

Distance from reception to annexe rooms and the fact there is no lift would be a problem for the less mobile.

  • 9/10 Anonymous ( Solo leisure traveller)

"It's a great location if the hotels around Wembley are too expensive or fully booked as Wembley Park is 2 tube stops away and the bus station is next to Harrow on the Hill tube station. Overall, a nice hotel for what I paid and I'd go back!" (99255264)

One receptionist was excellent! She was friendly and very helpful. So was the porter! It was a few minutes walk from the tube and the location was excellent for local shops, restaurants & cafes. Room decor was tasteful and the whole hotel from what I saw was very clean.

The bathroom could of done with a refurb' but passable and it was tiny so mind your elbows! Some of the other staff needed to learn from the weekend receptionist about the nice difference a smile makes!

  • 2/10 James ( Group of work colleagues)

"Check-in was a mess. I booked for 5 of us, and the hotel decided to change the names on the reservations so could not find some of the rooms - we all arrived seperately. The rooms allocated, out the back in a different bulding were old tired and smelling of smoke. Moved to the main block but it stank of curry. A tired old hotel. Staff tried hard, but couldn't make up for the age of the property and it's state." (99485519)

nothing...smokey smelling non smoking room. Hotel STANK of the Indian restaurant atached

    everything..ols saggy beds, smelly rooms.

"The room was pleasant , the staff were very good although when I booked in , in the early hours the porter seemed to have difficulty with speaking english and took some time to book in , The overall atmosphere of the entrance to rooms could do with attention , as gave a Hostel impression rather than a hotel, especially for the cost per night ." (99790178)

    Good food courteous staff

The location of the room , it was situated on a busy road with lots of traffic noise

  • 7/10 Anonymous ( Solo business traveller)

Single room was small but adequate, too many stairs to climb as their were no lifts

  • 9/10 Carol-anne ( Solo leisure traveller)

from Ash , GB  on  May 22, 2007

"I would like to have known that there was not a lift and that there were quite a few stairs to nigotiate. The 100's started on the second floor, not the first. I was not able to check in until 2pm on the day of my arrival, but as i checked out at 10.30am, people were being allowed in their room. It was not explained to me that if I paid by Switch I would not be able to order the films. I was not going to come all the way back from room 111 to use another card. You should have a pay as you leave for Switch users also." (99832533)

It was clean and had everything you wanted close to hand

The people next door were noisy and doors were slamming most of the night

"The hotel is in a good location but is in need of a refurbishmenrt. The traffic is really noisy at the front of the hotel so ask for a room that backs on to St. John's Road. I had to change rooms at midnight due to a noisey boiler that sounded like I was in the engine room of the QE2!and ended up in a room at the front of the hotel!" (99100990)

The hotel is near the Town Centre and Car Parking was readily avaialable

The hotel needs a refurbishment. The wall lights were dusty and had not been cleaned for some time. There is very noisy traffic at the front of the Hotel at night

"I have stayed at this hotel before so I knew what to expect. I would prefer not to have stayed in the annexed, but this didn't spoil my evening. The receptionist was very helpful and friendly and I would certainly book again." (99601180)

Clean, reasonably quiet (despite being sited by roadside), comfortable and centrally located

Bathroom, particularly the sink, although pristine was very small.

  • 5/10 Angela ( Young couple)

    from Guisborough , United Kingdom;GB  on  March 3, 2007

"On checking into the hotel we were served by a receptionist who barely acknowledged or spoke to us. Payment was taken at that time when it should have been taken on check-out. This resulted in the receptionist on duty the following morning trying to take a second payment. On arrival we were simply told our room number and given no indication of where the room was actually located. Very disappointing and poor customer service." (99084658)

    Location and cleanliness

    The poor customer service.

"On the whole it was good but i must say it is a rather noisy place to stay" (99512890)

It was close to the shopping centre and in a good location

I fealt that the rooms were very noisy. I had this continuous dropping noise. Like water dropping which was really irratating and the walls are so thin that i could hear the person in the next room snooring.

"Hotel room ok, but noise from water pipes and next door room made for a disturbed night. Sound insulation very poor. Checking out the member of staff had not been told what was agreed by the checking in member of staff and tried to overcharge." (99177516)

    Clean and tidy.

No fridge, sink small, soap dispenser empty.

"The cleaning job was good. But I did not have a good night's sleep throughout my stay. Partly due to the quality of the bed, but mostly about the banging radiator." (99878612)

It's very convenient, since it's very close to my relative's home.

    1. Bed too small (the only option is a double bed) and too soft; 2. Bathroom has this constant urine smell; 3. the radiator makes this banging noise eventually, no matter how you adjust the temperature knob; 4. Morning call service was completely NOT RELIABLE (I needed a 7:30 call one day but it never came. Then I needed a 6:30 calll another day but it came at 5:30. The hotel blamed it on the new upgraded system, but we complaint 2 times. They should have figured a way to make sure that the same problem doesn't happen twice).
