Standard of room furnishings were excellent. The size of TV also v good as they are normally tiny little things stuck high up on the wall!!The restaurant food was excellent.

When we tried to book for a further stay in the following week I had to repeat everything I had originally sent like addresses, telephone numbers etc etc. - surely this information can be found from your existing computer records.

room very clean and spacious. bathroom v. clean with plenty of towels. When I saw the size of a twin room as opposed to the double room we preferred the size of the beds ( i am married to a very loud snorer) so I asked to change rooms and was told it was no problem at all. Very Very good. At Breakfast they were very accommodating when I asked for seating for 10 (of which six were not staying at the hotel.

    took ages to check in

When we arrived at the hotel, there was no record of our booking. When they tried to call you, you were closed. Luckily they had a spare room, so we had to pay there and then. I will be checking my bank account to make sure you don't take the money aswell.

"Stayed here because it was the closest to the music venue we attended, otherwise it is too out of town to go to again." (97752654)

    Friendly staff. Smart hotel.

We arrived to a queue 20 people long and then 20 people behind us, due to a music concert being held near by. Only 1 receptionist was working. Restaurant changed menu of good selection food to a choice of just 3 of each course, wasn't a very impressive choice of food.

"Reasonably good value, excellent decor, lousy staff. Good for overnight, but I woudn't want to be here longer." (97959273)

The quality of the room decoration, and specifically the comfort of the bed, were excellent.

The place was under-staffed, and those who did respond were poorly informed. It took explaining it three times to get the woman behind the desk to understand that we wanted to order a pizza, and then 4 times for her to connect us without cutting us off!

"excellent and very comfortable as also a central location to places we wanted to visit" (97160395)

The staff were very friendly and helpful.Premier lodge is superior to other bargain hotels. At breakfast it was nice to be greeted by a member of staff with an infectious personality

We had an evening meal and one of the members was a little bit pushy but this is a minor criticism

The hotel was an extremely pleasant surprise. Britian is generally not good at hotels and especially not good at staff attitudes. Waters reach was excellent and the staff are almost personal friends. The food and service is also extremely good.

    Loose toilet sear mounting.

"all my viewa are above." (97482573)

It was close to the football ground. And as it was new years eve we had booked a meal just down the road. We stay at Premier Inns every 2 to four weeks.

I had requested a non smoking room but was told on arrival that there wasn't any available. There was no apology, it was more or less take it or leave it. Also we were told that parking after 12noon incurred a £10 charge which we thought was totally out of order. We sat in the foyer having a drink before the game on new years day only to find sat next to us were two men dealing selling football tickets to outsiders they were coming in and picking them up, there phones were going off all the time. I dont know wether the management new what was going on but the security men outside seemed to be part of the set up. We were goig to say something to the management but thought better off not to bother. I feel that our first stay at this hotel was very very dissapointing to say the least I feel we should have pursued this issue and asked for a refund. Next week we are staying at altricham and we never have any bother there Looking forward to your reply.

Very close to the football ground and theatre.

Unable to charge my phone as the plug sockets are above a fixed table which didn't leave enough clearance for the wire from the plug! Bar was not open early evening on the Saturday night. Heater went off when key card was out the wall, so therefore room was cold each time you got back to it.

"Good apart from the name change not being communicated" (99146057)

    Clean tidy room

The hotel had changed its name from The Golden Tulip to Premier Inn and the information had not been communicated in any way. As I, along with other guests, were unaware of this I found it difficult to locate and spent quite some time driving up and down the road looking for it!

  • 3/10 Daniel ( Young couple)

from Banbury , GB  on  December 30, 2007

"Firstly the name of the hotel has changed to 'The Premier Inn' from the 'Golden Tulip' and this made it harder to find as we were not informed of the change. Despite asking for a non-smoking room, the room we were given smelt very badly of smoke. The member of staff was then very rude in arranging another room. Overall, although some of the staff were very helpful, the majority of the staff were not welcoming at all and they made it feel like we were really putting them out by staying there rather than them welcoming us to stay at their hotel. We certainly would not stay with them again and would not recommend it to others." (97638727)

When we got to an adequate room it was clean and everything worked ok

We were first given a room which smelt very strongly of smoke despite requesting a non-smoking room. The member of staff was then very rude in sorting out another room.
