"This hotek would be excellent if the parking issues were sorted out, I think the reception staff would have been much better at dealing with guests if they didn't have to deal with difficult parking problems as well as do their job. I would stay at the hotel again if I am in the area but I would look around for one with guaranteed parking first." (107132360)

Standard of room was excelent, Dining room Staff and quality was very good. Good Location, and good value for money.

Parking facilities, and lack of windows in the Annex (very high thermostat setting made it unbearably hot for several hours)

Lovely garden, convenient location for transport links, and close to many good eateries.

Major refurbishment at the hotel made for a slightly off-putting start.

staff very friendly and tended promptly to our requirements

the room hadnt been serviced for our arrival. the room was very shoddy, old and tired furnishings and decor, and so hot and stuffy that we had to have the fan on most of the time. thought we were upgrading to a queensize room, but it turned out only to be very standard with two single beds pushed together.

Staff very accommodating and friendly. As a single female traveller I felt very safe in this hotel.

Cleanliness of shower curtain and mould around bath. Have stayed in two rooms both mattresses were not as comfortable as they could have been...thou are they ever?

There were crumbs all over the bed spread and all over the floor. Room very shabby.Bed sheet had large hole and bedside chair had an large brown stain on it.Couldn't get an invoice printed.

    "ok" (108007894)

In the right place for local shops, pubs and restaurants.

There was a lot of building work going on and my bed room was just above the building site. I was woken up every morning at 8.30am by drillings and hammering. i was not that impressed with that but when it is finished it will be a great new look for the hotel and would be happy to stay there again.

"Good. I'd definitely stay again, especially because of location and single room availability." (97376834)

Great location. Great to have access to a kitchen and lounge available with a single room rate. The cleaners were extremely thorough each day.

Just a small point but the phone broke in the room and then wasn't fixed -- though I admit I was too busy to keep pressing the issue -- so then couldn't call reception when light bulb blew etc.

the hotel was in a great location for a few drinks or a good meal with lots of choice, also some great pubs with good live music. There was a good mix of designer high street names there so plenty to spend your money on.easy access to the tube.

not many BUT.... To be honest the hotel was having some work done while we were there but it was no problem it could do with updating a bit, everything was fine but the showers are very old in the rooms. not bad really

"Comfortable for the shortness of my stay" (97095660)

You were only charged per items ordered for the cooked breakfast rather than an all-in one charge which I thought was excellent

There was no bedside table in the single room I stayed in because of the narrowness of the room. I compromised by putting the dressing table stool there although this blocked the door.

The hotel was clean, the staff helpful and polite. Breakfast was very good with a nice selection of food. The room itself was very roomy, comfortable and clean. There was a little bit of evidence of revamping the carpets and decor, but it was unobtrusive and the staff explained and made us aware of the fact.

On arrival my reservation hadn't been booked but your receptionist managed to locate a double room and turn it into a twin room for my friend and I. I suppose you could say that that was a good point but had you not have had a spare room then my weekend would have been totally ruined!

At breakfast one of your waitresses was inexcusably rude when we asked for a little more time to decide what we required for breakfast.

Continental breakfast (included in rack rate) was standard juice, cereal, toast and coffee but cooked breakfast items were available at very reasonable prices. The hotel is situated within easy walking distance of several tube stations (District Line); there are lots of restaurants nearby, and the Thames Path is a 5 minute stroll from the door. "I feel this hotel is only barely of 3* standard, and so NOT good value for money at c. £100 per night. Its location is the only reason I chose to stay there as Chiswick was my specific destination. A little investment in exterior improvement and redecoration of lobby areas, including better lighting to brighten the lobby areas which look dingy, would greatly improve this hotel." (97754003)

Location: Central Chiswick. Sitting room for hotel guests very comfortable. Internet access available. Room clean but see dilikes below...

Room was clean but very outdated decor. Window and curtains of room were filthy. Security in room (door and window) not adequate. Lobby and exterior of hotel in very bad need of refurbishment/redecoration. Very dark and dirty-looking.

I appreciate that this request could not be guaranteed but I thought there would be a good chance of being higher up and able to leave windows open all the time. The staff at the hotel were very pleasant and efficient and the general atmosphere congenial. I would recommend the hotel but advise anyone to make sure the room is one they want." (97833392)

Convenient location for underground rail links, local amenities (restaurants, etc). Friendly & helpful staff.

Room at front of building was a little bit too noisy, but I'm a light sleeper. Would recommend asking for a room at rear in preference. I had two disturbed nights out of five but slept fine the other three.

  • 10/10 Mary ( Mature couple)

from Ilford , GB  on  December 6, 2007

privacy and discretion overall. I liked the way staff handled check-in, occasionnally I book for my daughter and her husband; i like the facility of booking for visitors as opposed to bookers. I like the facility of booking a flat as opposed to a room. I like the opportunity of booking for members of my family as opposed to just for myself and my husband.

The only complaint I have is relatively minor - there was an excess of caffeine-free coffee as opposed to the regular variety.

"I liked the area. Very alive with lots of restaurants and pubs. If I had a car parking would have been a problem. I would suggest that they start serving breakfast earlier than 0700." (97460186)

Size of room and classis decor

The shower was absolutely horrible. Although not applicable to this trip, the lack of air conditioning would preclude me from staying there in the summer.

  • 8/10 Anonymous ( Young couple)

    on  September 26, 2007

"The hotel is nice and reasonably priced, but next time I book (if I need to stay at the same district again), i'd like to make sure about the beds and the shower, which needs replacement. But in general, I think the accomodation was nice and very friendly, which is very important in my opinion." (97588067)

well, it was nice, cosy, with good interrior design, nice friendly staff, polite, not intrusive, nice breakfast and the interrior is very warm, as I have already mentionned. I also definitely love the location.

the shower was a little bit old fassioned and we couldn't enjoy our tradition of taking shower together, every time I was in I had the feeling it was going to collapse, even when I was there myself (though I am very small and thin), so going there together was out of question at all, but the water was running well, so basically, it was sufficient. Also never got a chance to choose the bed though the site said there was a choice between twin rooms and kingsize beds,

"An excellent place for a family group for a short stay. Very helpful staff, beautiful gardens. If the question of diffiuclties with stairs had come up in the booking process, I am sure we could have been put on the ground floor and grandmother would not have needed to negotiate all those flights of stairs." (99076197)

We were accommodated together in the annexe, surprised by having a flat with full kitchen facilities all to ourselves, and given the choice of having our own breakfast in our flat or be served in the main hotel. The kitchen turned out to be equipped well enough that we could have most of our meals there - a great help! When there was an empty salt shaker in our flat, staff responded as promptly as if we had been in the main building. Very good!

We were upstairs, with three flights of stairs to negotiate and no option of a lift. This caused problems for our 93 year old grandmother, but the flexibility about kitchen arrangements meant she didn't have to negotiate the stairs too often.

"In general this hotel provided a lovely and pleasent stay. It is right on the main road which is a little noisy at night, but then you can't get away from that in the center of London. The breakfast was nice, although a limited choice if you didn't want to pay. I think a full english should have been available as part of the package not an extra." (99500804)

The hotel had a cosy and friendly atomsphere. Felt like a privatly run guest house.

The parking was VERY tight, although VERY convienient. The bed was a little old, as I sank in the middle where the springs had gone!!
