close to wembley stadium for the game

receptionist on sat morn ( a,merican lady ) very unhelpful told lots of tales ie not knowing how to get to stadium but could find a taxi as the buses were on strike we lost count of the number of buses we saw perhaps she is on comission for a taxi firm also no pubs on the way to stadium again found one within 150 yards of hotel and lots more on route

Noisy Room, Windows not sealed even though supposedly double glazed - Lots of outside noises. Food in adjacent bar/restaurant - poor quality evening meal on Saturday (sent meal back, waited over 35 minutes for replacement - wife had finished her meal when mine arrived back !!)

  • 8/10 Steve ( Solo business traveller)

Comfortable Spacious room, staff very friendly

Breakfast should be included in the rate. Dodgy remote control for TV that is too low down.

    "Very nice." (99909701)

The hotel was completely welcoming, unfortunately I have a heart condition and was taken ill late at night. The hotel reception was efficient and called an ambulance straight away in a calm manner. We also checked our a nght early because of this and they were very gracious and helpful.

"Find the location excellent easy commute into the centre of London from Hanger Lane Tube excellent value for money. Security of car park with good car parking facilities is good. Special mention of the Staff running the breakfast service is superb. Only slight downside is the bar isn't open to residents for longer, is there a reason for this ? " (97165075)

"Overall very good, room nice and comfortable" (97736609)

Nice room with good decor. Very reasonably priced for London. Decent pub and restaurant next door.

Room and bathroom had not been cleaned properly, dirty areas in the toilet and hair from previous guests.

  • 8/10 Elizabeth ( Family with older children)

from Congleton , GB  on  June 4, 2008

We chose the hotel for its location. It was important to us to be very close to an underground station on the Central line but to avoid paying the high prices of central London. The Fox & Goose fit the bill. The room was large, clean and comfortable enough for an overnight stay. Can't fault the hotel staff -- both receptionists we dealt with were friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. The beer garden between the pub and the hotel was very pleasant.

The food at the pub was just OK, not the greatest but not the worst. Service was very friendly, however. It would be good to get the entry code to lift the car park barrier at checkout rather than driving up, realising you need a code and then having to park up and find a member of bar staff to tell you the code.

The cleanness, atmosphere and attitude of the staff.

There was a delay with check-in as the car park barrier was stuck.

close to road, so a bit noisy, hotel was being decorated at the time of our stay, so there was a smell of gloss paint in certain areas, breakfast not included in the price.

The location of the hotel is a little run down, and wasn't as close to Wembley Stadium as it said on the website (15 minute cab drive!)

  • 8/10 Vanessa ( Mature couple)

from Bracknell , GB  on  December 11, 2007

"Before arriving I was worried that it might be noisy, I thought the rooms would be in/above the pub. As the rooms are in a separate block at the back, this is not a problem at all so it would have been good if this was actually pointed out as it is a concern to many people. The staff were friendly and helpful. For its location it was very reasonably priced." (97024754)

It was clean and quiet. Although on the main road, the rooms are all well back from the road.

  • 9/10 James ( Mature couple)

"Really good stay, great hotel and excellent location for Wembley arena and stadium!" (97128958)

Very good value for money, clean rooms of a good size and good facilities both as a hotel; with bar and restaurant etc and as a room; sky, ensuite, internet etc...

Range of 'European' breakfast was a disappointment- was a bit limited!

  • 8/10 Linda ( Young couple)

"Good hotel in a good location for local transport and with a good restraunt positioned next door. Good value for money if you book far enough in advance." (97443513)

Well kept, easy to find and good sizes of room with good range of facility.

Staff at initial reception and check in was dis-interested and sullen.

"The directions to the fox and goose are easy to follow from hanger lane subway, but I don't know if I would have liked to walk from there in the dark, there are to many underpasses, we found it just as quick coming from Alperton subway station, come out the station turn right and then left onto hanger lane and less than a 10 min walk to the excellent Fox and Goose. Drinking in the bar was very well priced and the excellent food was very reasonable and filling, with a very quick turnaround from ordering to your food being placed on the table.would I stay here again, A very BIG YES" (99239313)

rooms were very comfortable, clean and warm, sky sports 1,2&3 on the tv. bathroom and shower/bath were spotless with towels changed every day, excellent

maybe just a coke machine next to the lift or stairs would have been nice, but its not really a dislike

  • 9/10 Pamela ( Mature couple)

from Rotherham , GB  on  November 7, 2007

"Perhaps the only thing I would suggest is that printed copies of the underground system could be available on booking or at the hotel marking where to get the tube from London to the hotel etc. We used the tube system several times over the three days of our time in London and once we knew where we needed to be it was a good way of getting around" (99850483)

The accommodation was clean and comfortable and the staff were very helpful. The meals were excellent.

  • 10/10 Elaine ( Family with older children)

from Bolton , GB  on  November 1, 2007

"This Hotel was very good, the staff was great and would help anyway they could. The rooms are clean and very comfortable, they was cleaned everyday. The food was really good could not fault it reasonably priced, but i felt the Breakfast was overpriced. The Bar was good the only down fall was that it shut at 10.30 on a Sunday, and being a Northerner we are used to them being open a bit longer. I would difinitley stay at this Hotel again the next time i am down London. I would also recommend this Hotel Excellent." (99664894)

Friendlieness of the staff, they was very helpful.

I thought that the Breakfast was over priced. £9.00 for full English, £6.00 for a quick breakfast which rose to £7.50 on the Monday.

"Our group came down to see England play at Wembley and we didnt know what to expect, as none of us had stayed in the area before and had heard the surrounding area had a bad reputation so we all gave a sigh of relief when we drove up to the hotel. The secure parking gave us all peace of mind especially when we saw it had cctv cameras, the reception area gave a good first impression and the staff were extremely helpfull. The rooms were very clean and tidy and the beds were very comfortable. The bar/resturaunt was fabulous, the food was delicous, and the surroundings were modern and contempary with a really relaxing, comfortable atmosphere a great place to mingle with the other football supporters after the match. I would definitely stay their again and we have recommended it to all our friends and family." (97565504)

The secure parking with CCTV gave us great peace of mind.

Tiny tiny issue - grouting in bathroom was a bit discoloured in one of the rooms where are friends were staying.

    Very clean. friendly staff.

Location. I did'nt know the area before I got there. Outside of the hotel there was very little to do in the immediate area.

  • 8/10 Paul ( Mature couple)

from Western australia , AU  on  October 4, 2007

"The location was brilliant for us, travelling to and from the midlands, with immediate access to the A40/M40. The staff were excellent, and any request made to them was acted upon in a friendly, efficient manner. We will certainly stay here again when we return to the UK. If we were pushed to complain about anything, the only thing we could think of was that the salad that accompanied our first meal showed distinct signs of age (brown lettuce), but it was absolutely the only time we found fault with the food, and in no way detracted from the pleasure of staying there. In terms of value for money, this hotel rates a good 8.5 or 9 out of 10." (97030941)

Good sized rooms (we had two stays, one night on arrival in UK and 3 nights before departure, so experienced two rooms), and all clean and well appointed

The only quibble was the amount of coffee supplied (and I know we could have requested more, but there should be a better supply on arrival) and also in many hotels these days you are offered the supply of a small carton of fresh milk, rather than the UHT capsules. But these are really, really minor quibbles
