"Only 1 night stay but could have been more enjoyable if the hotel was up to standard." (97412739)
Excellent breakfast and staff
Shower all but unusable and room in general bad state of repair. Hotel is pretty rundown and in need of refurbishment. Both lifts being upgraded at the same time was very inconvenient.

We had to use the service lift and behind the scenes was very unclean and messy which is not what residents want to see, the room was ok but by some venting system which meant that there was constant noise throughout the night. The breakfast was very poor in standard

Convenient
The bed was very unconfortable! it has given my husband a bad back The room was very shabby and decor and facilities appeared to be untouched and cared for due to mould found in the bathroom and on chairs within the room.

Very poor standard of room for price, no windows and the room smelled of damp, shower constantly dripped, no remote control for TV and bed was tiny.

"A bit expensive but nice hotel, good food. Because the room was greatly over 30 degrees, we feel you should consider giving us a refund because we were promised that after complaining about the heat straight away (3 PM) it was still as hot at 9AM the next morning, so nothing was done to recify the situation." (97477555)
Nice hotel, nice restaurant.
Heating problem, room(s) too hot, promised to be fixed and was not.

"As we booked your hotel without knowing the area we were pleasently surprised to find it very central and overall a good place to stay. In fact we would not consider any other hotel if we were returning to Manchester, Thank You." (97565003)
Overal it was a good experience and would not hesitate to recommened the hotel to friends. It was all round very well presented and could not find fault.
Only complaint I would have would be the handling of food, in particular bread without the use of gloves.

"For an overnight or short break this hotel is in the center of all the local ammentities. Just a short walk from the MEN and shops.Could have done with knowing where the long stay car park was before we aroved as we had to pay £3.60 in the short stay car park for 15 mins whilst we checked in. Although i could of asked befor my arrival this info would be worth knowing before hand. Staff were friendly and helpful." (97289381)
good overall condition of room very tidy and clean. Staff were very helpful and went out of there way to ensure we were happy. The day we stayed there were issues with the water supply due to works but this did n0t effect our stay and we were kept informed of the progress. Food was excellent and very reasonably priced.
bathroom was a bit outdated and decor could do with some attention.

"good hotel overall, the staff very helpful, had a small problem with the key card.they had ongoing water work's outside which affected the air con, would off liked to have been offered a room with a window.excellent buffet breakfast, loads of choice for all tastes." (97357527)
the room was large,a decent sized double bed, very warm due to the air con not working, out of the hotel's hand's this ,outside water repairs.
the shower's could do with updating, hard to control the mixer, went cold then red hot .

"No water on Saturday due to work outside the hotel - general cleanliness of room bad - wall paper split and damaged - bathroom was not a superior bathroom - bath discoloured and hydro bath not working - smoke alarm with no cover in room - general room fitments old and damaged. As it is a city center hotel the management seem to think that all this can be discounted." (97850419)
Had a good nights sleep dispite all the faults.
I booked a suite and according to the hotel this is a superior room ! Bath dirty and sides broken. Light fittings that did not fit or work. Remote on TV broke drawers that would not close general decoration poor to say that it was a superior room or suite. Breakfast was fine but not worth £10 per head luckily when we booked in this was included when we paid as a sweetener - many people were complaining.

"In general the hotel is good, staff were nice, roo was big enough,it's located in a very good area of Manchester it's great to have this on-line reservation, but the room without window should be given to the people with a warning." (97789240)
The big room with good bathroom and fairly clean. the tea service in the room icluded coffe and hot chocolate was excellent.
My room was one without window, actually I didn't know it when I did check in and reserve on-line, this is the worst part of my staying in the hotel, actually I had noghtmares about rthis room after my travel, since 2004 because of my job I was in many hotels in all around the world but it was the first one withj no window. very bad experience!!!

"Over all our stay was great all the staff were so helpfull and polite , our room was adequate for our stay and need`s . The hotel was clean but in need of few repiar`s that did not impair our stay in anyway , the hotel has many rooms with and without windows as it said on the website , as we booked a double room we got a window that looked out on the rooftop`s and had remnants of left over work material`s , the aircon was great and come in handy , over all i wasnt disspleased with the hotel just a few point`s that were brought up between myself and my partner ." Central location. Proximity to transport links and shops.
The fact that i got no breakfast included in room price. Room was small. The lack of fitted controllable heating. I had a portable radiator in the cupboard which to be fair did heat the room up eventually. And the lack of hotel parking. Had to carry luggage to nearby shopping mall.

"Bath tap would not turn off - running constantly. Toilet flush didn't work properly, and when it did, it took 1/2 an hour for the cistern to dribble to full again. Room was far too hot and the supposed air condioning didn't work. Two out of six of the lights in the main room did't work. Very loud and disruptive sound coming from within or behind the wall in the corner of the room near the head of the bed - ALL NIGHT." (97873228)

"Not good. The hotel is very dated and in need of rennovation, also although it stated on the website that the hotel had a gym/pool you had to pay to use them which was not mentioned before booking. The room service food was inedible and over priced, and my room was in need of a decent clean. I will say that the staff we all very friendly and professional." (97731995)

"Reception and dining staff were very welcoming and efficient. The leisure facilities were very good, the opening time was late at 9am saturday morning and 10am on Sunday. I personally prefer to use the gym and swim around 8am followed by breakfast. The large puddle of water directly outside the hotel was unpleasant. The cooked breakfast was horrible having been cooked at least 20 minutes before breakfast was served." (97249710)

"The problems we encountered didn't spoil our stay as we were only there for one night but had we been there for a whole weekend, that would have been different. It was value for money in the sense that the location was great but the staff weren't too helpful when we pointed out problems to them. I would recommend the hotel for a great location and it may have been bad luck that we had the problems we did, but we didn't feel that as customers we were that important." (99355739)
Great location, central Manchester, train station, shops and trams very easily accessible.
Lifts didn't work (was with my pregnant sister) and the staff didn't seem too bothered when we pointed this out to them. We couldn't have a shower as it was not working properly, the room was very hot and there was no way of turning down the heating.

"The hotel is in an ideal spot the only thing apart from the room was the pub that was attached to the hotel, there was alot of drunken men which were having to use the hotel toilet as the pub one was broke, my friend and i were sat not far from the toilets and they smelt and the men were coming up to us which was not appropriate. We moved away and didnt feel comfortable. The only reason i would recommned this hotel is for its proximity to the town and the MEN arena." (97556022)
The foyer.
The rooms were not that great, they could do with refurbishment, we stayed in an executive room but was more like a standard.

Very ignorant staff. We couldnt get served a drink each night at the bar. There was several people apart from ourselves very angry that nearly led to fights. We ended up leaving to go to another bar. Also the restaurant was an extremely slow service and the food we orderd they couldnt even get it right even though they took forever..

"Have stayed at this hotel previously with no problems so knew what to expect...... although we had read some not so good reviews since our last stay...... we found the hotel very good value for money. On check-in we were upgraded from standard (no window)to executive as we were asked if we wanted smoking or no smoking and we asked for smoking. The room was a little small but adequate but the bathroom was a good size with a bath and a shower with plenty of hot water. The bar had cheap drinks from 5 till 8 and the pizza in the pizzeria was very good ....even though we were the last customers and were served a meal at 11.15 when we returned from the concert we had been to see.My only critiscm woukd be that the cooked breakfast had all gone by 10 when we got to the dining room even though they were serving till 10.30 but there was plenty of other options available" (97359166)
