"A little more information about the hotel facilities would be useful. For example no mention is made of Brian Turner or the Japanese restaurant. Brian Turner is a very able chef and had we realised he was there, we would have made time in our stay to dine in the restaurant. Hotel staff were professional and helpful, particularly the efficient porters." (97688719)

Good standard of furnishing, room clean and tidy. Helpful staff.

Shower head was a bit hard to adjust.

"We arrived at hotel to leave our suitcases so we could have a couple of hours sight seeing before checking in at 2pm, the staff were very helpful, our cases were stored and delivered to our rooms when we returned.checkin was very quick, our rooms were spacious and very clean.although we were out for the evening we did have a drink in the bar and people were having bar meals that looked really appetising. breakfast was between 7.30am - 10.30am it was self service so you could eat as much/little as you wanted and plenty of variety, I would certainly book this hotel again." (97239132)

Very clean, spacious rooms, staff were very helpful, we had a beautiful view over looking grosvenor square. Breakfast was good value for the money.

"it was convenient to book a room for the following weekend. unfortunately when i arrived after a long day travelling i was told no room was available although it was booked on my credit card and no doubt i would have been charged if i had not turned up. to cap it all your staff gave the impression that helping me get to a nearby hotel and getting my luggage there was a major inconvenience." "I booked a double room for myself and a friend as we were going out in Mayfair for my birthday celebrations. As a surprise my friend upgraded us to a suite, which was fantastic. I can't really fault this hotel or the staff, who went out of their way to make me feel special – even sending a bottle of champagne up to the room. I don't know whether I would have anything negative to say if I'd stayed in a regular room but I would certainly come back again to find out. The location is perfect – very quiet yet in the heart of Mayfair, the decor is stylish and the staff were friendly and approachable. I will definately come back!" (99655357)

"Itwould be much better if the customer understood what they were getting for their money, especially if there is some special rate that meant compromising the service. It is a lovely location but I paid for three rooms and had hoped to be near to my god daughter and her friend on their last night before heading off back to Australia. It was supposed to be a surprise and so overall it was disapointing. I also paid £100.00 to hire the hotel Bentley for the trip to the Theatre and the driver ended up getting stuck in a half an hour traffic jam which made us late for the performance. Overall a nice hotel but the staff did not seem to want to cater for those of us who do not frequent luxury as much as we would like." (99403011)

    Location was good.

Noisy Air Conditioner My God Daughters room was not ready until 5.00pm on the day of arrival. The staff at the desk were less than courteous to this fact. There were long hairs obviously not cleaned off the tiled bathroom. The water nearly knocked me over because of the power and actually the was discoloured.

I think the location of the hotel is excellent and all facilities are superb.

If I was being very fussy I would say that the aircon unit is slightly noisy. Also, a teapot with the tea / coffee facilities would be a bonus!

"We stayed for 3 nights and on the fisrt day the hot water tap in the bath didn't work. This was reported and whilst we were out at the theatre it was fixed however on returning we found that the engineer had left the tap on and as a result the bath was half full of water and there was steam everywhere. The second day on returning to the hotel at around 5pm to dress for dinner we found that the room had not been serviced. We called reception who said that they would have it done within the hour. It was done but again I was disappointed that I had to chase them up about it." (3304669021)

we got a good deal, but breakfast was not included. The room was somewhat rundown -- before renovation. Small bathroom.

    from Laurencekirk , United Kingdom;GB  on  July 5, 2006

"With a fabulous building, with a great address, in a fantastic area somehow the hotel ought to have more style, more character. The panelled bar could be great but the lighting is all wrong and the art on the walls is bad cheap, hotelly reproduction old master. How can you create atmosphere? What is it that would mark this hotel out? It was absolutely OK but no more than that. What would make me go again? Only the special deal I got! Breakfast was very good." (3304952283)

    Comfortable, clean

Ordinary, characterless, small, small bath (but it was a single room).

  • 5/10 Neil ( Family with young children)

    from Belfast , United Kingdom;GB  on  May 13, 2006

"I thought the hotel offered poor value for money condsidering the problem we had with the sink. When I reported it to reception upon checking out there was no apology from the staff. I had expected a gesture of some kind. We also asked the concierge about arranging travel to the airport and he could not do this for us. I felt like we were inconveniencing him by even asking. I understand the hotel is expensive because of its location but I did expect a better service overall." (3304429866)

    Nice decor and well equipped.

There was a serious leak in the bathroom sink and we had to clean a lot of water off the floor the first time we used it. We then had to use the bath instead. This was very inconvenient especially as we had our young son with us.

(3304575865)

The room itself was excellent and very clean

Very comfortable and clean hotel, made our stay meeting Brian Turner!

Unfortunately no kettle/tea etc was provided in our room and there was no mini bar. We had to call housekeeping in the morning to arrange for a kettle.

Comfortable beds, quite room. Not too cold not too warm. Checking out; good service regarding luggage and taxi.Discount was given on minibar item due to problems -See areas to improve on !

When checking in; what is included in the room.Any other info that is not already mentioned when booking. When asked to see to that other things (glass) are not missing; do so without delay. Review quality of key cards- ours lost their function twice even if kept well away from other magnetic(-tized)items.

Room was very nice and clean. Hotel was central to all areas of London.

More toilettries in the rooms, and rooms far too hot.

The main concierge was amazing. He helped us with everything we needed.

We stayed at the millenium twice over 3 weeks. The first time, the room was impecable. The second, most of the appliances in the bathroom didn't work very well, there were holes in the carpet, and the wallpaper was peeling.

"The central location of this hotel and the close proximity to Oxford street is a big plus. Very effient chek in system and the staff were very friendly. Lovely restaurant. However the hotel has a dated feel to it and the standard double rooms are too small for a 4 star hotel. It is ok for an over night stay but not suitable for a longer stay" (2454106)

Convenient. Central location. Eay to get to.

The hotel looks dated and could do with modernisation. The room we stayed in was too small for two people. Not a 4 star experience.

However, the devil is in the detail and when things went wrong we were not kept informed and the problems were not rectified quickly enough. However on checkout our complaints were taken seriously and we were recompensed for the inconvenience." (2980040)

Very friendly helpful staff. Excellent central location.

Room needed updating - no electric socket for kettle except under desk!, shower curtain leaked over towel rail despite our best efforts, room very noisy on Saturday night as it overlooked the ballroom, communication between staff - when we made a complaint we were ignored or the opportunity to put it right came to late

"Great location, especially for Hyde Park where the Live 8 concert was! Reception area is nice and piano bar open till late - but a bit expensive at £4 for a bottle of lager. Generally a good value hotel, rooms adequate for their purpose but a spot of refurbishment would not go in miss in areas. That said, it's no worse that most other hotels of this size. Didn't try the restaurant, but looks expensive! Overall a good hotel. I would visit again!" (2411524)

Twin room quite large and clean with all usual facilities. Decorations a little bit tired, but typical of hotels of this type.

Plumbing was noisy in the bathroom and the decorations inside the room were not great, e.g. paint splashes on door, floor tiling in bathroom a bit tatty.
