    "My overall view of the facilities at the Village Hotel Cardiff were good and the staff were very freindly and helpful. Your receptionist accomodated me and my wife with a table in the restaurant when we arrived back very late one evening. This was unexpected and we were very grateful to her and the restaurant staff for this. I understand that it is difficult to cater for all situations for very different people but I do think that a small refrigerator in each room would be very beneficial and useful to all your guests."     Clean Tidy with no gimmicks

    The room did not have a small refrigerator, it was a hot weekend and I am Diabetic with nowhere to store my insulin.

    Nice pool & convenient to Asda 24hr store

    Given wrong information of pool times, towells were makeup stained & only half a bottle of bubble bath left. Put in a room above a wedding disco party loud music playing until midnight our 1 & 3 year old unable to sleep.

    the checkout experience was appauling. it took 45 minutes stood in a queue to get checked out. this was attributed to a 'broken server'. I severely question that this incident was isolated and therefore wonder why the management feel it is acceptable for guests to wait this long? i have stayed in many hotels around the world and never have i experienced such poor service.

    friendly helpful staff, good sized room, only a short overnight stop so didnt get to try leisure facilities. Reverend James beer on draught!!!!!!!!!

    Very friendly atmosphere. Very good choice on menu. Excellent breakfast.

    Staff had to be prompted to complete laying out what had been paid for at te reception following a funeral.

    A Modern Hotel that was easy to get to without going into Cardiff with its attendant traffic problems

    "we enjoyed our stay here, it was nice having a bar and restaurant built in to the hotel. the pool, sauna, steam room and gym are excellant." (97366835)

    The room was a good size, with a t.v/radio, kettle and other v useful extra bits. The bed was comfortable, but squeaky.

    the hair dryer in the drawer wasnt powerful enough to dry my long hair, and the view was of a flat roof. I could hear the people in adjacent room talking.

    "Excellent hotel - booked on website but when confirming with the hotekl they had no details of the booking however called your help line and the person went out of their way to sort out including calling me back to let me know that they needed a little longer to sort and then calling back to confirm that it was all done. Once at the hotel everything ran smoothly staff were very helpful" (97417390)

    "delighted to find that we were still able to use the leisure facilities on the day we booked out of the room -an added and much welcome bonus -didnt know at time of booking so was a real treat to be able to unwind after a day in the city before drive home" (97038178)

    lovely relaxing friendly atmosphere..good vibe about the hotel.really enjoyed using the gym and the sauna and steam room..brilliant stress busting place to stay and only a bus ride into town !!cant wait to come back again...also the breakfast was delicious

    "If we had known that there would be an extremely loud disco under our room we would not have stayed here as a good nights sleep was essential & we had requested a quiet room specifically.     "Felt a little unsure regarding the entrance/exit of car park and the booms that were used. No indication of how to get them to allow entrance and exit. I would have liked to have been able to enter the hotel without having to run the gambit of the smokers standing there passing comments and littering the stairs with their butts. generally, I had a very positive experience with regard to the appointment of the hotels amenities and the staff's attitude."     "If we had known there was going to be a wedding party we would not have stayed here. The noise break-out was intrusive, the smoking groups outside the front entrance unpleasant, and the breakfast staff who served us had not been trained to do the job. The whole breakfast experience was pretty chaotic due to the number of people packed into the breakfast room." (97249635)

    Noisy due to party downstairs and neighbouring room occupants. Breakfast was generally good but spoilt by inexperienced staff e.g walked us all around breakfast room until he located table, cleared it and re-laid it for us but failed to wipe it clean first, brought tea & coffee but no cups.

    "Bar staff were not very attentive and where more interested in continuing their own conversations whilst serving. Had to wait 2 hours for main course and when we enquired we were told that our starters were on there way, yet we had eaten them over an hour before. Quality of the bar food is of a low standard."     Lovely relaxed atmosphere.

    If I was going to be super critical it would be that the bed although queen size had a zip up the middle to join 2 mattresses into 1, not a huge problem by any means but it was there!

    it is a very convenient hotel, close to the motorway with plenty of parking. it's within easy reach of the city centre either by taxi, bus or train, all of which are just around the corner.

    "I didn't expect there to be a disco playing loud music until 1am on a Thursday night, I would have liked to have know there would be a noisy function on that date (31st May) when I booked. Staggered breakfast times would be a good idea, ie guests are allocated a time when they book in so as to avoid the crowding.     Good size room, spacious hotel, excellent pool facilities, good buffet breakfast.

    Room wasn't spotless on arrival, breakfast very crowded, disco kept us awake until 1am.

    Cleanliness. Everything we could have needed was in the room. It was spacious and very light. We could not find fault with the accommodation.

    Before departing, we stripped the bed for the cleaners and discovered the mattress cover was stained.

    it was clean and welcomeing the lesuire facilities were excellent and the lesuire staff were very friendly

    we were not told where to have breakfast and had to ask we had to ask twice for a cup of tea the resturant meals are over priced

    "The stay at this hotel was surprisingly terrific! The location next to the M4 was, for me, ideal and not too far from the centre of Cardiff either. The facilities was excellent and the accommodation was sufficient to have a good nights sleep. The breakfast in the morning (and this is my honest view) was nothing more than superlative! Who said a full English breakfast was bad for you? 'Forget the diet' - here you had eggs sunny-side up near fatless, sausages to die for, black pudding outstanding, etc, etc. There is of course sufficient other courses for the less adventurous. I will definately be going back. Forget Travel-Lodges and the usual overnight budget hotels, this hotel, for me, is unparalleled with them. My only concern is that you do not stay there when I wish to. I would like it all to myself! To the Management of the Hotel, upgrade the sunbeds and your on a winner!" (99664127)

    The facilities of swimming pool,sauna,steamroom,cafe,village pub,restaurant so closely at hand (within the complex) was extrodinarily excellent.

    The sunbeds (in my experience) do not support the hotels standard. I would advise the hotel management to invest in more suitable and acceptable equipment. In addition, they do require constant cleaning and maintenance!
