"Excellent-very impressive compared to the Holiday Inns in the US...this was much nicer." (108036860)
Were able to check in early AND the baby crib/pen was already set-up for us. Last minute reservation was a great price. Very clean and up-to-date. Very impressive Continental Breakfast (not your typical 'pass through' with a stale roll and bad coffee....instead - tons to choose from and a large dining area to enjoy it in)
Absoluetly none.

good breakfast
room overly warm even though radiator was cold. Loud drunk kept both me and my friend awake over night. Receptionists didn't seem to smile or offer help with heavy bags

"I would have liked to have known that the sound-proofing on the street rooms was so inadequate so that I could have brought some ear-plugs with me!" (97158540)
Hotel clean, staff helpful and friendly
The inadequate sound-proofing meant that noise from the outside street could be heard until 5am Sunday morning (every person walking past, every laugh, shout even talking). To make matters worse after a disturbed nights sleep the seagulls started at 6am and could be heard for the next couple of hours

"Good location, clean and comfortable, good value for money. Staff very helpful. We enjoyed our stay very much. We'll be back." (97592902)
We liked the location just off Union St. A lot of thought has gone into the design of the building. we liked the design of the shower room/toilet especially and the breakfast area. The breakfast buffet was very good. I thought the mattress too soft but i slept very well with no ill effects from the soft mattress.
Although off Union St it is close to a taxi rank and there was a lot of noise at pub closing time. Bedroom doors could be better insulated - got woken at 3am by some idiot on a mobile phone going to her room. She was so loud she didnt need a mobile. So better insulated doors would help.

"Express by Holiday Inn is definitely offers a very good deal and the standard is excellent, for a mid range hotel. I do understand that they were short staffed, but they were still able to cope with a busy hotel. I have to salute a few members of staff that had to sacrifice doing doble shifts and even ding a split shift for the hotel." (97691567)
The hotel is located in a quiate area yet quite central and very accessible to the main attractions, shops, bars, restaurants.

"Was not familiar with the Express; first experience quite positive. Varying reports on how far it was from the train station; were ultimately advised to take a taxi because of potential problems in walking the neighborhood after hours or early mornings, but otherwise felt quite comfortable walking around and exploring the neighborhood on foot. In retrospect I think it is too far from the RR to be dragging luggage... Altogether a good experience & would recommend for overnight or short stays" (99140637)

"Hotel is in a great location, on arrival the check in process was second to none, staff were very friendly and welcoming. Our Room was exactly what we had asked for, nicely decorated and very comfortable. Top marks to the housekeeping staff also as the whole hotel was maintained and cleaned to a very high standard. Breakfast was a self service continental breakfast, with plenty of choice and was nice to wake up to. If your still feeling hungry after that, then there is a nice bakery directly opposite the hotel.Checking out of the hotel was also easy and friendly. The hotel offers a left luggage service which also means you can have a wander around the city before you depart on your journey. Only downside was the noise. Overall very enjoyable." (99894265)
All members off staff were very friendly and helpful
Unfortunatly there was a lot of noise from other guests including loud music at 6.30am and doors of rooms slammed shut.

I cannot fault the accommodation- but one small comment, soya milk would be a good addition at breakfast for lactose intolerant guests!

The room was bright and nice
No toilet brush available, milk sachet in room was curdled, only a couple of tissues left, but apart from these minor things it was fine.

Location good, in the centre - but then Aberdeen isn't that big! And it's just opposite a late night bakery if you are peckish!
Check out at 11am (then again I always want to lie in bed a little longer!)

"Except on friday and saturday nights, Express holiday Inn Aberdeen is a very good hotel!" (3305018556)
Modern and very confortable hotel. Very clean. Near shopping street
Chapel street is a very noisy street on week end. When we booked by internet I ask for a quiet room, not on the street. But we got one on the 4th floor on the street. The night was terrible. In front of the hotel there was a fast food-bakerei open all night and near a dancing hall . The morning later, the staff said me that the families and the patrons with prioriyclub card had priority for quiet room and not me so the hotel could not carry out my request...We would have new it before booking!! The location is not good as it seems: the hotel is near Union Street but the street is very long and it is far from the interesting part of Aberdeen, at the opposite from old city.
