Comfortable bed. Tea making facillities. Super generous cooked breakfast with unlimited help-yourself toast, juices, tea and coffee.

Well equipped bathroom with plenty of hot water and clean towels.

Room overlooked courtyard which was extremely noisy with customers from Rubens(?) talking, etc till midnight (Thursday evening).

"Framlingham is a lovely small town with good restaurants and interesting shops plus the fantastic castle. Stay was generally comfortable in the hotel despite bad points shown above" (108092773)

Historic hotel, friendly staff, central location, fresh water, tea, coffee etc supplied in room and refreshed daily,

Occasional very loud traffic noise from cars and motorbikes apparently racing each other; bar was uninviting because of regulars; no clear indication of what was on the menu for dinner (so we didn't dine there); breakfast supplies limited and dwindling (e.g. no yogurts, fresh fruit, etc by last day). Parking was hard to find and when full was very hard to manouevre in.

Pleasant small hotel in charming country town. Friendly staff and comfortable accommodation and good varied dinner menu.

Breakfast arrangements seem a bit haphazard. Standard of cooking a bit variable and disappointing - not as good as other meals.

Room was excellent and the hotel had a lovely old world charm with lots of exposed beams and open fires. Cooked breakfast was also excellent.

The fan and plumbing in the bathroom were extremely noisy. It was also very loud when other guests used their bathrooms - enough to wake a light sleeper.

Pleasantly furnished & restored 16th Century Coaching Inn

"The room was excellent and the short break was made all the more enjoyable by the attitude of the staff who could not have been more helpful. The restuarant was first class and the fact that you could mix and match between the restuarant and bar menus gave a substantial choice of dishes and it would be difficult to find fault with the presentation or size of the dishes. The only thing that would have been useful would have been alittle more information about Framlingham. We booked because of its general location without realising what a lovely place it was in its own right. I would unreservedly recommend this hotel to anyone." (99294501)

    Excellent and enjoyable experience throughout.

Our room was number 8, spacious and well furnished, and a four poster bed, lovely bathroom. The Crown is set in a quaint village surrounded by beautiful, peaceful country side. Visit: Sutton Hoo, Framlington Castle & Orford Castle. Smashing." (3305201251)

    Lovely Room.

Room over the bar, noise till late. This was not mentioned when we booked, to be fair we did not ask for a quiet room, shall do so in future.

"Not too much to say - a genuine old coaching inn in an excellent location with modern comfortable bedrooms." (99895158)

Interesting old hotel, lovely situation in the square, nice modern and high quality bedroom accommodation. Generally friendly and informal staff.

We didn't appreciate the building works out the back, starting up at 8am in the morning (Saturday). Also note that the flat screen TV in the room has an alarm/wake-up function but unless you plough through several levels of menu with the remote control there is no way to check if it is on or not. I was not amused to be woken at 6am! Guests should be advised to switch the TV off at the wall. Actually in any event the TV signal was so poor so that the analogue service was feeble and the digital services sometimes non-existent. Finally, the breakfast buffet was a bit poor, more suited to a much cheaper hotel.

"The hotel feels more like an inn with rooms, rather than a hotel with a bar and restaurant. As a consequence, the room we stayed in on a Saturday night - being immediately above several bars and with an open staircase connecting the bar and restaurant area with the rooms above - was extremely noisy until around midnight. Breakfast was not of the quality expected at the inclusive price - little if any evidence for example of using the quality local products that are available. The room itself was very pleasant and with more attention to the quality of fittings and furnishings - plus better sound-proofing - would have been reasonable value for money. However, as it stands, this hotel is not good value for money in comparison with others either in the vicinity or particularly on the continent." (3305015922)

Spacious room with sitting area and en-suite bathroom; location of hotel overlooking town square; pleasant staff

Extremely noisy; more care needs giving to furnishings and fittings (eg. TV reception poor, better quality mattresses needed, hook hanging of bathroom door......)and very ordinary breakfast at the inclusive price

Spacious and clean. The bathroom was newly appointed and worked well.

The decor was dark and unappealing. Heavy dark drapes made the room dark

Plenty of space and lots of hot water!

Need to supply skimmed milk and semi-skimmed at breakfast. Not everyone like full fat these days. Not easy to find the car park. At the rear does not explain how far you have to drive to get to the car park if you arrive at the front door.
