"Total rip off! Not a good advertisement for Manchester. It would have been better to pay more and stay at the Midland Hotel!" (97488747)

    Clean and handy for event.

Impersonal; breakfast extra; expensive, poor service and presentation in dining facility; no parking; failure to create tab for for hotel stay despite promise to do so by check-in staff

"Staff were very helpful and friendly. All areas of the hotel were very clean. We would have no hesitation in staying there again." (97132025)

Very clean, helpful staff and bar food was very good.

Overall, we enjoyed our overnight stay, but our room had a smell of cigarette smoke even though we had requested a non-smoking room. Having said that, the room and bathroom were spotless. Also, there was no water in the morning for a little while, but it did eventually come back on and didn't cause us too much inconvenience.

"Would not stay again or promote this hotel to my friends" (97720283)

    clean rooms

slow staff response times to problems, no answer when we called reception, breakfast too expensive for the choice and quality

"Would stay here again, it was clean and fairly close to the centre of Manchester." (97767120)

Check in was easy, although we did have a few minutes wait as there appeared to be only one person on duty, and quite a queue forming, but 2 young ladies arrived and we were checked in. Staff were courteous and helpful.

The only bad point I found was the table lamp needed a new bulb, but that was nothing to complain about really.

"It was good value for money but the room was a bit tired, although the bed was comfortable. I might stay again - it would be dependent on how rich I was feeling. If richer, I would stay at the Midland where we've been before." (97314470)

Easy check in, pleasant reception staff despite a slight glitch with the technology, housekeeping staff efficient although we did have to communicate with signs.

We had a room near the lift and it was EXTREMELY NOISY all night with parties of people coming and going and making a lot of noise on the corridor. We didn't go to bed till 2.00 am but it was ALL night after that.

the facilities and equipment was good, the staff were really friendly. over all me and my friends had a great time and we were all pleased about the value for money.

the only bad thing i would say is the bed sheets, i didn't like them at all.

"The hotel was very clean and staff helpful. Felt reception should have known a little more about area. My son was very sick and when asked about a chemist was advised boots opened at 8.30 but had worked myself for years in London and felt it would open earlier so rang them and they opened at 8.00. Staff should know small things like this in case medicine is needed which in my case it was and urgently. Even though information was not correct all were very helpful." (97469348)

Towels were very hard need replacing and more pillows needed.

    Proximity to central Manchester

Small rooms.First room faced the front and that side of the hotel gets a lot of noise from the road and tram network.

"Convenient city centre hotel, with rather basic facilities and small rooms. I consider that the price charged (>£100) was excessive considering the size of room and basic level of decor." (97462615)

The hotel is close to city centre facilities, included the International Conference Centre at G-Mex. Check-in, service and breakfast were efficient.

The rooms were a very basic standard with rather hard beds and pillows! Although clean enough, the decoration and furnishings were basic. All rooms were small, and some very small - considering the price that I paid.
