"We had an excellent stay and would go again. The only criticism was the co-ordination of the cleaning of the room. We had to wait to check in on the first day as the room was not ready, yet they wanted to clean the room before we had checked out on the last day (we had just finished breakfast so we were not late checking out)." Very friendly staff, good facilities and good location.

    Co-ordination of housekeeping.

"Good location, nice clean modern hotel, very nice bedding, nice pool area with sauna, hot tub etc. The restaurant was also good both for dinner and breakfast." (3304623080)

Everything - it was just right.

    Nothing.

"Apart from very thin bedroom walls, this hotel provides an excellent service with very helful, efficient and friendly staff." (3304560344)

Very helpful and friendly staff. Good location in Clifden village.

Walls in bedroom too thin...could hear conversations, TV, snoring etc in next door rooms!

"I have absolutlely no complaints about this hotel. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, I relaxed in the pool, jacuzzi and steamroom and had a wonderful massage. I thought it was a very child friendly atmosphere and would reccommend it to people with children. The breakfast was lovely and we had a meal in the bar and it was gorgeous! It sounds like Im being paid to say all this but it was one of the best hotels I ever stayed in!!! Of course I would have liked it to be cheaper, but we got our moneys worth!!!!" (3304315495)

The room was very confortable, clean and warm (very important during Irish winter). The hotel is very well located.

"Upon arrival I was advised that the hotel was full and that an overbooking had been made. I travel frequently and reluctantly accept this, although disappointing when a holiday. I vented my furstrations firmly but politely. The hotel had tried to call me at work the previous Friday but no message left when my voicemail said I had already left on leave. At least the hotel had the sense to reserve another room at a neighbouring hotel and offer a free dinner for my wife and myself. The neighbouring hotel was inferior in standard so rather than stay theri two nights we moved back to the Clifden StationHouse for the second night. I think this surprised the hotel. An amicable settlement on the bill was made and this minor irritation wouldn't deter me from staying at the hotel again." (2530206)

great location, easy parking, good leisure facilites - although no time to use, friendly staff

Very little - a modern clean affordable hotel

"Provided everything promised and the final price was very reasonable for the quality. An excellent base for exploring Connemara. Excellent staff with the usual high Irish standards (such a pleasure after UK !)" (1963783)

    Clean and spacious. Good facilities.

Air con would be useful - can get noisy due to Station House Bar if windows have to be kept open during the night.
