"Very good." (97168726)
Large rooms - excellent setting - free coffee stations
Children at a private party allowed to run about the corridors of the hotel screaming and shouting until after one in the morning. Being over-charged on the bill (charged for meals that we hadn't had). This was rectified as soon as it was pointed out.

"Just about okay" (108015451)
Room was clean and pleasant
Almost ignored on check-in. No help to explain facilities Room was a walk away (open air) to reception and main facilities Aircon was useless - room okay for 1 person, cramped for two

"Great experience and good value." (97611952)
Great location, good facilities, excellent room, well equiped, good value breakfast.
Some banging of doors during the evening and night. Over efficient self closers ? Too early check out time, queuing at the checkout.

"good value for money as it is a contemporary hotel however staff need some serious training in the restaurant" (107119438)
food and cleanliness were good, room was nice and contemporary
rooms were noisy, staff in restaurant were in experienced and very poor, asked for a dessert menu 3 times!! never got asked if I wanted a drink, no bread with starter when all other guests got it, squashed guests together at dinner when the rest of the room was empty and to top it off got room number wrong on bill and charged my account with 3 dinners! breakfast wasnt much better, didnt get asked if I wanted TEa or coffee another guests had to ask for it too when there were staff hanging around doing nothing

"Exceptional. Will certainly be back again on my next visit to the area if rooms are available." (108063229)
Lovely rooms and facilities. Lots of space and exceptional standard compared with similarly priced hotels recently occupied.
Big pot holes on entrance/exit driveway and slightly expensive bar. Nothing major at all and had to really think for something to put in this box.

"Good to excellent except for how hot the room was. It may be we would have to pay but the TV channels are not adeqaute for a hotel of that stature, normal channelss plus news and Sky one." (108033846)
The hotel is in a nice place and very good standard. Easy to find once you Know where it is. Nice room
Why are the disabled rooms the farthest away. Logic says that if you have GF rooms you put the disabled nearest the door. We did get a GF and it was a disabled but it was also the farthest away and I had actually contacted the hotel direct and said that a GF room would do, not a purpose built disabled as Mrs Coote cannot walk very well and has a sticker but but a GF or near a lift would do. Room was very good but what happened to the air conditioning. It was very hot during the night ansd as there was some wild life about we did not wish to leave the window open for too long in case a large rabbit with big teeth decided to venture in. ( this is not a complaint about the wildlife it was all very nice, Deer and an old peasant as well.

Originally allocated a room which wasn't made up but the duty manager not only organised a free drink in the bar for us but also allocated us a nicer room.
No toiletries in the bathroom and only one bath towel

"Despite the above, I really liked the hotel and the lovely grounds but it could be so much better and so much more could be made of it. It has so much character and certainly beats a Travel Lodge for the same money." (99499598)
Beautiful location, beautiful building and grounds. Quiet. Not half enough is made of it though. This could be truly exceptional. Good breakfast in restaurant. Plentiful hot water.
Had to wait for room on arrival despite arriving well after earliest time of arrival. Sink plug rod broken. No shampoo etc in room - queried at reception and all we got was body lotion. Decor in room provided very much "bachelor pad" and dark. Invoice on departure different from price booked online - however it was quickly resolved.

"At the price, this is a very well prepared hotel with very good facilities. Access from the M25 is very easy and the grounds of the Park offer plenty of space for an evening walk. The food was excellent both in preparation and choice...and was varied every night. Since my initial booking I have stayed at the hotel a further 6 nights and it is now my choice of hotel for the area." (97849268)
Clean, well decorated. Excellent choice of menu in the restaurant.
No swimming pool bu there is a jacuzzi, Sauna and steam room

"Fine. We were staying for a family funeral, not spending much time in the hotel and it served it's purpose." (108022557)
I liked the "coffee points" where you could help yourself to a variety of drinks and biscuits, and the free internet access. The grounds are lovely for a short stroll too.
Broken light and clock one hour slow in room. We almost missed breakfast because of the clock. The only toiletry in our room was one small bottle of shampoo, not replaced on second night. The only toiletry in the other room was one shower gel.

"Lovely new rooms (in the converted barn section) absolutely beautiful. Lovely building and grounds. I like the mix of old style buildings with modern furnishings." (108026427)
Lovely grounds and very clean and internally modern hotel
Not enough staff on in the morning at breakfast. Slow service to check in the internet booking had not registered and as there were 2 weddings on it was doubtful at one point whether our booking could be honoured.

Even tho we arrived at 1am the check in was still easy and there was no fuss.
The food personally we thought could have been better and in keeping with the high standard of the hotel.

"The hotel itself is a lovely old building set in beautiful grounds. The rooms were very well done out and very clean. Our room was to the rear of the hotel with beautiful views. The service was not always 'spot on' but any short falls were rectified courtesly. The gym was not large but was fine for a basic workout. I liked the idea of the free coffee/tea stations although the soft drinks dispenser was not working throughout our stay and neither was the lift. The lift was not a problem to ourselves but may have caused some individuals problems mobilising about the hotel. I would definitely stay here again;-)" (97143695)

The only down side was the state of the Health Suite....spa, jacuzzi, steam etc....this area obviously needed some attention due to the age/mildew...and a few plants / water dispenser would not have gone amiss.

Staff a little slow with service on occaission; a one hour+ wait for a sandwich whilst the hotel was not busy is not too good.

Great value for money
The food wasn't the best and the service in the restaurant was extremely poor. We had a table of nine and it took 15 minutes from the first main arriving to the last. And they forgot to order two desserts...

Your staff were curt. When we first checked in we noticed that the sink drained very slowly. Informed a staff member and she said it would be taken care of. When we returned for the evening and started to take a shower the tempertature control would not stay where you set it. The temp. would go from cold to warm to scalding hot then back to do this cycle over and over. This happened all by itself. Then we found that we had only one bath towel and no washcloths. The reason we never called anyone was it was very late so we just went to bed. The hotel looks nice from the outside but not the inside. Also we were to have a breakfast included but never found it and the staff were no help.

"The hotel was in a lovely setting and couldnt have been better value for us, their special offer over the Christmas period was excellent and if they offer the same again next year we will be there. We found the staff to be extremely friendly (unusual for this part of the country) and helpful in every respect. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, well done to all at The Manor." (97217784)
Our room was newly refurbished and was of an excellent standard all round, the duvet good have a been a little larger, as the lovely bed was a super king and the duvet was a king size, nevertheless this is only a small comment in the overall scheme of things.
We liked everything

Down side Jacuzzi not working and taped up with scissors left laying to the side for 2 days,(dangerous) so very disappointed as we brought our swimwear.!!! felt we had been shortchanged as no pool on offer to compensate for lack of spa. No explanation given or gesture for lack of advertised facility. Regards David Tyler & Margaret Macfarlane." (97602715)

"Although only a 1 night stay, the room and service was excellent. Providing the price of £49 inc buffet breakfast does not change once works complete I will definately stay here again and recommend to my friends as it is excellent value for money. I stay in quite a few hotels for business and so many hotel rooms are in need of updating and refurb - it was so nice to stay in a room that was newly finished." (97181908)
I stayed in the new Ridings accomodation. Everything was brand new and so the room was excellent, felt like I was the first person to stay in the room - perhaps I was!
Apart from soap there were no toiletries and I had assumed there would be things such as shower caps etc as I usually rely on the hotel supply instead of carrying everything. Part of this accomodation block was swill unfinishedand will be nice to return once all complete.
