    "Stayed for 4 days staff went out of there way to help, very pleasant hotel." (97625306)

    Excellent friendly helpful staff. Staff arrange lifts to and from rail station as no local transport. Nothing too much trouble for the staff. breakfast selection was great and as much as you like no limits like some hotels.

    Location of hotel no local public transport.Train station 3 miles away 1 train an hour.Rooms are small but well equipped and have shower and bath.

    "We only stayed one night, and there was some party on that night, which we werent told about, and it kept me and my girlfriend awake until early morning. Had I known this was going on, I would have booked somewhere else. We were travelling down to pick up a car and back up the next morning, 700 mile trip, and being kept awake did not help! The walls are also very thin and could hear people speaking next door. Would not use again." (97689443)

    Value for money

    The window lock was broken therefore not allowing the window to be opened and there was no remote control for the TV - both were reported to reception.

    The room was very comfortable, we liked very much that we were on the ground floor, and the bathroom and shower were great.

    The breakfast was barely adequate, and definitely NOT worth the high price. We did not realize the breakfast was priced separately, and we would not have opted for such an expensive meal had we been given the choice.

    Nice hotel, restaurant good, lovely carvery, breakfast very varied and plentiful.

    Need to check all items in bedrooms are in working order, remote control for tv did not work and probably only needed new batteries, staff should check these things.

    The staff were very good,very helpful and always smart. The food was excellent,the service smooth and well done.The bar was cosy and quiet and prices very reasonable.The rooms were very clean with a bright airy feel,with plenty of tea and coffee and nice white clean towels.

    Not many,just the bed could have been more comfortable my wife awoke with backache some mornings,and i hate long life milk for the tea and coffee.

    "Ideal for the business traveller. 2 1/2 miles out of town so no good if you want to walk into town. However, good restaurant food and bar area. I found there was no need to leave the hotel. A nice hotel representing good value for money." (97596727)

    Excellent value for money. Compares very favourably with the bigger hotel chains. Good quality food in the restuarant, nice clean rooms.

    the service in the restuarant could have been better. For expamle, the menu/wine list was given but took ages to take the order.

I understand guests want to celebrate happy occasions but not all of us visit hotels for special occasions.     Fair price for accomodation, good food

    Hotel room over main entrance and music blaring from a wedding reception was very loud and late which left me and my husband tired and weary.We went to hotel for a break from working hard but went home more tired than when we arrived!!!!!!!

    "It was a lovely stay.The beds were comfy and there were extra pillows and a blanket.The seats were all great and it was hard to leave the small bar next to the restaurant.     "It was an interesting building and we were intrigued as to the history. No one in the hotel had any knowledge of how it had evolved. Eg what was original and what had been built on etc. All in all very well appointed friendly clean hotel. Much better than I had anticipated.     "This is a most charming hotel just outside the equally charming town of Wetherby. Our room was very nicely appointed and clean and looked like it was freshly painted. The bathroom was very convenient and all facilities worked properly. The hallways were nicely done too. Ample parking facility. Map provided was easy to follow from main roadway.     Extremely helpful and attentive staff both in reception and in the restaurant.

    Note that the A La Carte menu in the restaurant only allows for either a vegetable or a potato side dish. Remember to order both for a pound extra if that is what you want.

    "Your facilities for smokers are inadequate. There is an outside area for their use but it is uncovered and smokers are exposed to the elements. Although it is not politically correct to smoke, we are not lepers and are entitled to the same treatment as any other guest and not to be treated as if we were second class." (97023684)

    Key to thr room did not work and is apparently an endemic problem in the hotel. The cut off point of 8.30 for a meal we found restrictive since we had travelled some distance.
