"Poor. I requested a non-smoking room, but I then found that this was not guarenteed. The hotel is deserately in need of reburbishment and is tattered around the edges. It does nor represent good value for money." (99714554)
Initially put into a smelly smoking room. Upgraded into a room requiring desperate decoration

"A comfortable stay. I would stay again if visiting for a short break." (108008106)
location great for theatre visits and close to victoria station. easy to travel around. A comfortable night stay.
Water not very hot in my room, and one of my party's room didn't have tea/coffee/milk so had to ring for it. Also a running tap all night that wouldn't turn off. Need to get to breakfast early as it wasn't very hot and a little overcooked.(minor problems!)

"Overall as we only had paid the lower amount, I thought it was value for money, clean, accessible and did the job." (108015899)
Good deal on Active Hotels- £109 per night instead of the usual £225. Ideally situated for Buckingham Plalace and tube station.Despite being on the main road, it was very quiet.
Very poor staffing levels. Not many spoke English. Four times the cleaners came into our room in the morning whilst we were still in bed.The hotel was full so we had to eat our breakfast in the bar area instead of the restaurant. Breakfast was adequate, self service buffet. The night before the bar shut at 1am which is unusual.

"Really enjoyable and would definitely stay here again." (99026215)
We got a great deal for one night bed and breakfast and dinner for one night for £99. We felt this was a brilliant inclusive deal especially as we booked just two days prior to our stay. The hotel is very central and the room deluxe room included in this deal was really nice. Staff were really accommodating.

"A number of other users gave this hotel a very poor review and after staying there I feel theyÂ’re totally deserved. IÂ’ve seen far more competent and friendly staff in a two star hotel than was on show here. Their only selling point is being one of the cheapest hotels in London in their star bracket; unfortunately though itÂ’s a truism that you get what you pay for." (97520508)
great location
Extremely poor quality of staff. Rude. Incompetent. Loud. Inappropriate behavior. All this on every level of staff, from the lady who tried to clean our room while we were still sleeping to the manager who could barely figure out how to check us in.

"Staff weren't very helpful, even after we requested that they find our phone messages, they never got back to us. We had to ask that room service trays were removed after 24 hrs, newspapers after 6 days were still left in our room even up til we checked out, we had asked for these to be removed too !Room wasn't cleaned properly just barely tidied. Biscuits only replenished for 2 days then none. Toilet didn't flush properly either.Access to international phone line was cut off regularly obviously due to staff change overs, we had to request to be put through all the time even after explaining repeatedly that we had to able to contact Australia 24hrs a day as we run a business!! It is advertised that there's a mini bar in our room - well there's a sign where it should be!!!!!!!!!!!" (3304885716)
its proximity to where we had to be in London and public transport
Cleanliness obviously isn't high on priorities and we didn't receive any of our phone messages that we know were left!

"We have stayed in this hotel before. It is convenient in that we can walk to various art galleries. The staff are pleasant and helpful. It is expensive; on this occasion we did not have a cut price offer. We would like to stay again but would hope for a pleasanter room." (3304328727)
It was a back room so fairly quiet
The lighting was not good and the room was dark so we had to keep it on all day.

"Exellent hotel in a great location within a short walk of Buckingham Palace and Victoria station, Bigbus London tour stops right outside, this costs £20 and includes a river cruise, overall the best way to see London on a short stay, plenty of pubs & restaurants within the area. Would definitely stay again." (3010165)
Although double rooms were unavailable on our arrival we were offered a more spacious twin bedded room by way of compensation, the concierge showed us the room at our request, as the room was on a corner it had a suite size feel to it, they also allowed us to check in early.
Public areas are very clean and attractive at first glance but on closer inspection some of the furniture is a little worn but this is a small complaint and didn't affect our stay

"The location was excellent for Victoria theatres and station, and an easy walk from the Palace, the Mall, St James' Park and Horseguards. There were restaurants within walking distance in addition to the hotel one. The standard of accommodation was generally good, although the hotel was showing signs of wear and needing refurbishment e.g. paint worn off the cupboard in the dining room, and bathroom looking dated. The waterproof sealant in the bathroom looked like it had been applied with a spade. Breakfast was a good average. Smaller rolls would have meant less wastage, and some red fruit would have been nice, plus pastries. We booked on the net with an agency, so were happy about the price. We would have been unhappy with the hotel if we had paid the rack rate, as it wasn't quite attaining its four stars. As it was, we were happy enough with all except the variable water temperature. A concierge was on hand to keep our luggage safe after checkout." (3304085115)
One of the rooms we had was larger than average with an extra seating area. The location was great for Victoria and for Buckingham palace.
The water was often so lukewarm that it was impossible to bath or shower at certain times of the evening.

"Everything was fine, though once we had unpacked all our bags, we tried to use the shower, but the hot water wasn't working. Maintenance came within 5 minutes, but were unable to sort the problem out, so we had to move rooms. This was a inconvienent, plus this also wasted 1hr 30mins of our time (from unpacking, to maintenance visiting, moving rooms, unpacking again). Somebody then brought us up new rooms keys, but when we came back from our night out, the keys didn't work. This resulted in one of my friends having to wait up to let our other room mate in." (2988832)
Spacious rooms

"I was told car parking was across the road, this was infact a good 15 minute walk away, breakfast, we had to wait twenty minutes for a table, the waiter who served us did not smell clean, and the quality of the breakfast was not good, the breakfast bar was empty to the fact that my colleague had to go without. Apart from breakfast though I thought it was reasonable if a little expensive but it is London." (1593634)
good location, clean room
breakfast was poor, car park long walk away

"All in all a good Hotel, nice helpful staff, very nice room... Only let down was the very noisy and not very efficient airco... I stay in London a lot and it seems to be a standard to run London Hotels very hot ambient temp wise. Normally you can counter this but sadly the airco wasn't up to it. Luckily this wasn't a hot summer or it would be very warm in that building... I'd still give them 8/10 as everything else was fine... I'd definitely stay here again..." (97084702)
Location, style of the room, very nice shower, The bed, the 24 hour room service...
We were in Room 110...The air-conditioning unit was very noisy and the fan control appeared to have little effect on the noise at any speed.. It was a humid weekend so leaving the window open was necessary to maintain a comfortable temperature... Quieter better cooling airco would turn this from a good hotel to a really great one to stay in Central London... Ice machines on a couple of floors by the lifts would be a nice feature, you could get Ice from the Bar but at 02:00 in the morning the bar is closed...
