"For an overnight stay. Acceptable." (97874266)

Pleasant atmosphere in reception/bar area. Enjoyable breakfast

Double room booked. Found ourselves in a room for the disabled!! A lot of noise from other guests coming in late. Walls must be paper thin.

  • 7/10 Ronald ( Mature couple)

from Congleton , GB  on  March 28, 2008

"When we arrived we were given a twin room even though we had requested a double room. We were compensated with complementary bar drinks and were able to change to a double room the next day. On the second night we were kept awake from 3.00 - 5.00 am by a stag party. Little evidence of intervention by the night staff. Breakfast on the first morning was very busy with only one over-stretched member of staff manning the self-service area. Hence considerable waits for milk, cups, bread and tea-bags. On a more positve note, the service was good the rest of the time and the reception staff were friendly and helpful." (97599293)

Friendly and helpful staff. Rooms reasonably comfortable and functional for the price. Continental breakfast offered a good choice of food. Well placed for access to Cambridge city centre. Park and Drive only a short distance away.

Heating very slow to respond. Bathroom linen well past it's best. Matresses in twin room seem to provide little support.

"I have put yes in recommend box but with some reservations. Look at the the fact double rooms usually accomadates 2 people it should cater for 2 people. The towels are to small or to few for showers if individuals have long hair or over 6 foot tall. The waiting staff in resturant although pleasant need training in skills that make the clients feel welcome not that they are doing what they are told. Service is not duty it's to make an experience for the customer they can enjoy. Decoration as with all of this type setting is so sterile the waiting staff must work even harder to create an atmosphere." (97326630)

It was adequate and clean. It was a smoking room - the main factor in picking this hotel.

Lack of towels (although I was able to get some from desk). Lack of a spare blanket as I don't care to sleep in central heating. The lasanga(sp)was not very nice. They did not have enough tea etc in the room to accomodate 2 people.

"For an overnight stay good value for money. A little difficult to find particularly in the dark. Breakfast very nice but a bit chaotic as everybody appeared to be there at the same time. If you did not have a car the hotel is quite far from town (about £12 taxi fare each way & not on an easy bus route. Staff were polite" (97828800)

    clean & comfortable

we were 3 adults in family room - no bedding/towels were providedfor the third person, similarly only two cups & tea making for two.

Dirty carpet, clod room, small room, tea and coffee inadequate. Having to pay for internet. TV menu difficult to access through the pay items.

"easy instructions to get to the hotel provided by your website.have always stayed in holiday inns, and found this to be exactly the same, but on a smaller scale, excellent for that overnight stay, or if you just need a bedroom, and somewhere where you can eat breakfast and dinner. it has a pleasant lounge area where there is a small bar.Overall the room was very clean and quite spacious , and we would definately stay ther again" (97275312)

  • 10/10 Lesley ( Mature couple)

"We chose this hotel as from previous experience you can be assured of extremely clean and comfortable rooms, the only drawback was the distance for us from the town centre as we were not just using hotel as a stopover. Although it was only two miles it was quite a walk, ok when the weather is good! Parking in the town was fairly expensive but there was a park and ride nearby which was very useful." (97006163)

Really clean and comfortable, helpful staff - bus times, cost of taxis etc. and that breakfast was included.

    Distance from town centre

from Rochdale , GB  on  August 24, 2007

"Stay was ok, only thing I would suggest is to have some signs up showing where the hotel is. We found the area using satnav and then it took an extra 25 minutes to locate the hotel on the business park! We weren't the only ones, when in the bar from 21:30 to 22:30 there were at least 4 people that checked in late saying the same thing! Maybe arrow signs on lamposts?" (97034068)

It was close to my meeting the next morning

The guy/woman in the room next door snored all night and I could hear it through the connecting door! Had to turn up the TV to get to sleep!

Well, I hate Mcdonalds ,but it beat your menu choice on offer, so I was forced to eat there . You need to introduce old fashioned hospitality Not a room factory" (99504052)

"It was a surprise to find the location was on a business park, and we drove right past the turning at first. The sign to it was rather discreet! We had expected it to be in the town. The food we chose for dinner was excellent, and ir was fascinating to watch the rabbits! After the initial surprise, we were delighted with our experience and it had been my intention to write a complimentary note had youn not emailed me." (99830650)

It had everything we needed without being fussy; clean, simple but attactive;good size shower cubicle.

the bathroom was very clean and the shower good.

the complete absence of room service, the poor quality of the seating area in the foyer which was very smokey and consequelntly unpleasant.

"There was plenty of information available for days out for the surrounding areas but we would have appreciated more information on local pubs/restaurants as the dining facilities at the hotel were so limited." (3305133777)

The main good point was the cleanliness. I know the hotel is relatively new but the room was spotless. The fact that it had temperature control made our stay very pleasant as there was four of us in the room. The staff were pleasant and helpful and the food (Although a limited menu) was excellent.

As it was a family room, we were expecting tea/coffee facilities for four people but you had only catered for two people. Also storage was very limited for four people.

"Stay was good. A pity it was only 1 night as services were very good. Would stay there again. A longer stay might be difficult as it there was little in the way of shops etc arround being in the mifddle of an industrial site. Would be difficult without a car." (3305245534)

Very clean and tidy. Room was spacious with all facilities

Not within walking distance of centre of town

"As an Express hotel, it works well, but the quality of the food provided at breakfast could be improved. Also, a way of heating rolls/croissants would be great. Don't like flabby croissants. Also, felt that the continual blaring of a large tv screen was somewhat tiresome to say the least, particularly if trying to talk to someone." (3305206590)

Intelligent lighting, neat shower room, comfortable beds

Only one chair provided in a twin room - not good if guests are elderly and/or disabled.

Shame the windows didn't open more than a crack, we wouldn't have had to use the air conditioning. Ice packs frozen each night for the coolbox each day. Good healthy breakfast choices." (2925889)

    Staff very helpful and friendly.

Couldn't open window wide enough. Not enough radio channels on TV (Radio 3?)

"We had a very pleasent stay at the Hotel. I have previously been at this hotel before so I knew what the Hotel was like. The check in process this time round was much better as there seemed to be a problem with finding the booking details last year. Overall the Hotel was ideal for our needs. The Hotel staff were very friendly and the manager even helped me to start my car after my battery had gone flat during the night!" (3304808269)

Modern, clean, friendly helpful staff. The continental breakfast was great too with a range of food on offer to meet all tastes.

    Nothing to comment on.

"More information about catering facilities would have been useful. Lack of decent breakfast (given cost of hotel) a definite minus point. Ok for an overnight stay - but Travel Lodge a lot cheaper! Insufficient information about adjacent leisure facility - was there an arrangement? I felt it was very expensive for the level of facilities provided. Clearly caters purely for the business market - if advertised as such would not have stayed there." (3304690442)

Air conditioning Quiet (good soundproofing) Convenience
