    very friendly and attentive staff ; the room was quite large and well appointed, wich was a surprise

    adaquate food, not up to the level indicated by the fancy names

    "big thankyous to catherine, kay and the other restaurant staff, also thankyou to maxine head receptionist and the housekeeping girl, the staff are very nice, makes such a lovely change from the typical british poor service. the staff here are really make this small coastal town hotel a wee hidden gem in the north east of scotland. also the complimentary sachets of hot chocolate and the biscuits in the room were sssso good !!"     staff were pretty much on the ball, friendly, helpful, responsive, good attitudes.

    only had fairly basic tv viewing choice, channels 1 to 4 and sky paramount comedy 1 were viewable. most hotels around the world give you a far better experience in this area.

    Clean & Comfortable, Very quiet too, considering the very bad weather!

    Felt that the restaurant has gone downhill a bit in the past year. But having said that, only because it was excellent before. Still a good hotel though.

    "The hotel is needing money spent on it as it is tired. The staff are good and breakfast is amazing. The evening meal was somewhat disappointing and they could widen the range of coffees served at night to include Latee and cappachino rather than just ordinary coffee." (97727686)

    Good size room

    The room and the hotel were adequate but dated and took me back to the 70s. Bath towels were too small and the TV was something out of the 70s

    "After a long day on the road I was very dissappointed to find the bath with dirt rings round it & hairs in it!! I found the surroundings in the Brasserie, chairs, carpet etc. to be very dirty. The food was awful, I have never seen salmon so overcooked & the pototoes where the complete opposite, undercooked. The fitness room should really just be closed down, as it consists of 4 machines that are very very old. The staff where very welcoming & extremely helpful however I would not go back." (97628751)

    The bath was dirty, the gym facilities where very poor & the evening meal was appalling.

    "Excellent Hotel. The staff make you feel welcome without being overbearing. The food has always been fresh and tasty with a good variety on the menu. If you do not wish to sit in the bar all night you have the sky sports channels in your room - big plus point. The views from the hotel are amazing, even when the weather is bad. On a nice evening you can walk down to the harbour area which is very pleasant. Overall I've stayed in a lot worse hotels than the Banff Springs and paid a lot more money for them.     "Excellent hotel overall. It is a bit out of the way and if you wish to go out for dinner you have to go to Turriff (12 miles away). The views from the rooms facing the sea area breathtaking and well worth asking for. The bar area is very comfortable and the food has always been plentiful and of a good standard." (3304152262)

    "i booked a room in the annex the room was very nice but would have liked to know that to get to the room you have to go back out of the hotel and round the side of the building.not a problem but at this time of year you do have to put your coat back on to go to the bar or to have your evening meal,as with breakfast."     Excellent west facing sea views from bedroom/restaurant/bar area. Ample parking.Well staffed by pleasant, customer-focussed staff.

    Poor TV reception in bedroom. Improve seating arrangements in bar-provide more comfortable seats for residents versus others having bar meals.

    "I had stayed at Banff Springs previously so was aware of the good standard of the hotel. Generally the stay was excellent with quick service at breakfast, friendly reception staff and a clean, comfortable room. The hotel is ideally situated for touring with several small fishing villages close and Fraserburgh only 25 miles away (well worth a trip to the lighthouse museum - absolutely fascinating). The local food everywhere was good and the pubs were friendly and inexpensive. Macduff is only a mile away and the marine aquarium there is worth an hour or two of your time." (1458553)
