"I appreciated the friendly, efficient, professional welcome service at reception on both of the two nights that I stayed. I would come again if I have the pleasure of returning to Trieste in the future." (3304687789)
Very clean and comfortable and good value for the money. Efficient service.
I did not have any problems.

"Very friendly staff - would highly recommend to anyone...once the refurbishment is finished!" (3304633605)
Central Location, clean & airy!
It was in the middle of refurbishment so the initial impression was quite frightening!!! The signs in the hotel were in Italian so we were unsure about a couple of things...

"It was a rather good experience altogether." (3304880875)
Its convenient central location, the cleanliness of the room and bathroom, and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff.
Not having a private parking facility nor air-conditioning in the room. Though not bad, the breakfast could be improved.

Very cheap and clean hotel
The elevator is not working and the rooms are on the second floor.

The room was clean, warm and had all the facilities I require.
None. I was perfectly fine as it was.

"This hotel had a good central location in Trieste and was cheap and clean." (3304007047)
The hotel was clean and reasonably priced
The hotel is being refurbished and the downstairs was a dark, off putting building site. The beds were very small, fine for the children but inadequate for a normal sized adult. Breakfast could have been a lot better, there was very limited choice and portions.

"The central location on Via Roma made walking access possible to the waterfront, the impressive piazza unita d'italia, many churches, a wide variety of eating places and an endless supply of clothing shops in all price ranges. Bus services are punctual, clean and cheap including the frequent service to the airport. The city sightseeing bus and the tram service was not operating due to road works and the 'Grotta Gigantes' on the Carso plateau was unexpectedly closed when we arrived. Overall, Trieste is well worth a visit but we have strong reservations about the hotel (particularly for elderly visitors) until the lift is sorted out." (3304141520)
Central location, clean room, warm (at or below freezing outside most of the time), comfortable bed, reasonable price.
Minimise the inconvenience caused by the installation of a new lift to the hotel on the first floor. Guests have to carry their bags up two narrow flights of stairs which are dusty and badly lit.

Good value for my money. It was a cheap hotel and it was a clean hotel with nice people.
It is just right.

"while we have no complaints whatsover with the hotel the entry was daunting. There were no sigs indicating that the hotel reception was on the first floor, and the ground floor foyer was derelict. We almost did not proceed further. If we had been prewarned of this condition we might have had more confidence." (2817488)
Rooms and staff pleasant and helpful and very clean.
Entrance to Hotel from street was appalling and we very nearly did not enter. Stairs protected by temperory timber and building works in progress. Extremely unatractive.

"THere is no parking close to the hotel for those people driving a car. Unloading the car was IMPOSSIBLE. The hotel is on a busy street. We parked on the street any where we could find a spot! Also, no elevator....a real problem if you have heavy luggage." (2703966)

"This easy to find friendly, clean hotel was perfect for our needs, i.e. a one night stopover on my way to Ljubljana I did fear, however on my arrival, Oh no what have i booked here? Very dirty entrance obviously under reconstruction and a very dodgy stairwell. Much room for improvement! As stated previously was made to feel very welcome on checking in and the room was lovely and clean, spacious and had telephone, TV and a lovely bathroom and shower. (Even had a hairdrier in it which pleased my girlfriend)." (2613171)
The room was bright and clean and excellent value for money. If i am ever back in Trieste i would have no hesitation in staying here again.
Possibly breakfast but then again for one star accomodation you get what you pay for.

It was simple, adequate, everything of good taste and intelligently managed.
At least in August air conditioning would be much necessary, I think.

"as a hotellier myself (the Lambert Arms, London Rd, Lewknor Oxfordshire, UK) with over ten years in the trade I was left thinking if I could have this guy work for me. Wow. Its proximity to the town and transport was spot on. I will definately go back as this was a stop over and the region itself deserves more than the 12 hours I gave it." (2685642)
the host Mr A was great, very helpfull giving directions and transfers to airport and town. The house itself was prepared immaculatley with guides of the area in several languages.
They are working on the grounds and there is alot of rubble and builders material next to the entrance, it will look great when done but does retract from the picturesque and quiet neighbourhood.

"Adequate. Get what you pay for." (2456158)
Clean room, good value. Good in-room air conditioning.
A double bed should be a double bed and not 2 singles just pushed together. Inappropriate. Entrance hall gives a terrible impression. No indication that hotel is upstairs?! Maybe a better choice at breakfast...

"My stay was excellent. I found Trieste to be a much more attractive and interesting city than was originally suggested and the hotel experience, which provided a comfortable and convenient base for a holiday contributed greatly to my enjoyment of the visit." (2202667)
I thought all elements of the hotel were exceptionally good, it was clean the staff were very helpful and it was well situated.
The only slight improvement I would make, would be to increase the range of fresh products available with breakfast

"Large clean 3 bedded room well positioned and a good price. Room on side street was fairly quiet and had a wonderful and very quiet ceiling fan which meant that the window could be closed to keep out noise when sleeping. The shared bathroom toilet seat was propped up on the floor and it was a little strange when the automatic light went out when in the shower!" (2292384)
Very Central, between bus/train stations and main sites of interest.
Breakfast could have been better and compared badly with all breakfasts taken in Slovenia and Croatia in previous 2 weeks.

"The only bit of information that might have been more help was to have had a map of the area stating where the hotel was situated and how far it was from the bus station as if you are arriving from the airport you usually are coming by bus. Also a list of bus numbers to each tourist site eg: Miramare and Grotta Gigantie would have been most helpful. Also an indication of restaurants where they were situated and what they served would have been great. But none of these points have any bearing on how good we found the Hotel, it was great." (1569056)
The hotel was extremely well placed being very central to bus and train stations, shopping and restaurants. Our room was very clean and well lit and heated.

The Albergo was very conveniently situated and had all you could ask for for from a hotel room. Nice, clean big rooms and a very nice bathroom.
We thought the breakfast was a bit poor - but breakfast habits are different in Italy, Spain and France.

"When booking the HotelI was aware that it would be basic budget accommodation. I found that the room was adequate for my short stay needs and the towels and bed linen clean, the nearby bathroom and toilet were also clean and always servicable. The continental breakfast was basic but the coffee was hot. The staff on reception were always polite, helpful and friendly and spoke good English. However I feel that the dark entrance would perhaps alarm a lone female guest. Would I recommend this Hotel? The answer is yes and no." (1623267)
The hotel was close to the bus terminal and the area convenient when visiting friends at other hotels. And well sited for city walks.
The hotel sign was poorly displayed, the entrance via the street was dark and not welcoming, the two flights of stairs to reception were also gloomy and created a poor impression.

"Nice clean bedrooms and bathroom. Warm and comfortable and in a really good location for getting from the train and buss stations. The breakfast was not very good as there was only one choice of cereal and packets of toast, it would be better to offer at least one type of fresh fruit and fresh bread. It was reasonably priced there and I would stay in the hotel again." (1442639)
