  • 9/10 Shelagh (Mature couple)

from Milton keynes , GB on  July 3, 2007

"It was a very pleasant stay. The only complaint would be quite a minor one about breakfast. The breakfast staff seemed reluctant to replace anything after 9am even though breakfast was available until 10am." (99221160)

It was quite central (quite near the station) but was still quiet. Very pleasant staff. Comfortable bed.

Nothing, although there was a very loud wood pidgeon which woke us up each morning at dawn!

  • 10/10 John (Mature couple)

from St. loup lamaire , France;FR on  April 5, 2007

"All the above aplies - it is an excellent city centre hotel which provides clean, spacious, comfortable and tasteful accomodation at a very reasonable price. The added bonus of a private car park is super. We collect family members coming to stay with us who arrive at Limoges airport and this makes it a plesant break - drive to Limoges, stay the night, have a meal in town, then after breakfast pick people up from 'bellegarde'. It may be an idea to provide simple instructions of the route to the airport from the hotel." (46888846)

spotlessly clean, breakfast, super hot water, relaxed, easy attitude of staff. Veary important a lock up private garage in a city centre hotel

Because I am rarther tall I prefer a longer bed and a longer bath

"Would use again, very good town for an overnight stay." (99550949)

Knew who I was the second I walked through the door, easiest check in process ever. Excellent reception. Lock up private car park also.

Appeared to be no where to get an evening meal in the Hotel, however plenty of options in town, cuba bar and Joes Bar in town excellent.

  • 9/10 Kathlyn (Other)

    from Philadelphia , United States;US on  October 23, 2006

The hotel had the ambiance and charm we wanted. The room was very clean and comfortable. The bathtub was perfect.

The location near a bar of rivelry and as we were staying only one night,Saturday, it made sleeping very difficult. Oh well, that is what shutters are for.

The breakfast was superb. We liked where the hotel was situated. All in all a great evening. Thanks" (3304881077)

  • 8/10 David (Mature couple)

    from Skipton , United Kingdom;GB on  June 28, 2006

Hotel is handy for the station. Good sized room. Excellent buffet-style breakfast. Very efficient staff.

Once a grand hotel the decor and some of the fixtures and fittings are now looking tired and in need of updating. It was very hot in Limoges, during our stay, and the absence of a/c resulted in an extremely uncomfortable room temperature...

"I would have liked an orietation of the hotel to road and railway. An indication which is the quieter rooms. Since it was hot and there was no air conditioning a window needed to be open." (3304844984)

Plenty of space and good furnishings

Our allocated room was at the front and noisy. This was changed willingly

  • 8/10 Hugh (Family with older children)

from Sutton coldfield , United Kingdom;GB on  April 24, 2006

"The hotel was on a busy street near the railway line - the rooms at the back overlook the courtyard. Both could be noisy in the early morning. Breakfast was fairly basic and there is no restaurant." (3304082594)

The traditional French atmosphere - rather faded grandeur. Rooms have nice high ceilings but are not that big as the ensuite facilities have been squeezed in. Good location for shops and restaurants within walking distance.

No tea making facilities in the room - but that is the norm. Our two rooms were on the first and fourth floors which would have been a bigger problem if the children had been younger. Our room was not a non-smoker and so smelled rather fusty at the start.

  • 9/10 Sally (Young couple)

    from Datchet , United Kingdom;GB on  March 20, 2006

"Thanks to the review of others, we were able to have a good idea of location in relation to things we wished to see and general amenities. The local restaurant recommended to us was superb. As mentioned above, tea and coffee facilities would have been appreciated. The staff were extremely friendly and tolerant of our inability to speak French! No request was too much trouble." (3304375461)

Clean, warm, airy room with large windows enabled us to feel comfortable. An excellent start to a break. Staff particularly friendly and helpful. Many Thanks.

For the English, tea and coffee facilities in the room would have made the stay complete.

"We looked at the Hotel Mercure while in Limoges. Much much better, I am afraid. OUr hotel needs a large injection of capital." (3304131123)

Not much. It's a bit run down.

Servicej at breakfast - almost non-existent. Receptionist needs training in how to be welcoming.

  • 7/10 Peter (Solo leisure traveller)

    from Liversedge , United Kingdom;GB on  February 23, 2006

"No bar or restaurant was the biggest disappointment for me. And I would make this point if someone asked for an opinion." (3304096362)

    Convenient location, clean, good staff.

For a three star hotel, no proper bar was a bit of a let down.

  • 9/10 Simon (Young couple)

from Worcester park , United Kingdom;GB on  December 6, 2005

"The hotel could sell itself a little better. It is small but quaint, rooms are large and have all the necessary basics. The staff as a whole were polite and helpful.Hotel is situated in a good location to get to all the towns amenities and good restaurants nearby." (2985430)

room was spacious and comfortable, beingat the rear of the hotel meant it was also quiet.

On check out the receptionist could have been more helpful in her explanation as to the bill status.

  • 10/10 Nell (Young couple)

decor in rooms - very different - nice to stay in a hotel that isn't the same as all the rest. Also breakfast was excellent.

  • 4/10 Anonymous (Young couple)

    on  September 28, 2005

"The hotel was in a good location. We had a room at the back of the hotel which meant we were off the main road and therefore it was quiet. The decor in the room was bizarre and the towels were rather mismatched and old. There were no tea making facilities in the room. We were disappointed as in a guidebook it had said this was the best place to stay in Limoges." (2720598)

    Good location

Staff were not particularly friendly (except housekeeping) or informative. There were no tea making facilities in the room.

"The hotel is in a very good position as regards access to the station and the town centre. However, its position beside the railway means that there is a lot of noise from passing trains. The room was very comfortable and tastefully decorated with a large ensuite. Staff were always very helpful and polite. Any problem was very promptly dealt with. There are a lot of good restautants quite near at hand." (2349584)

Room was very comfortable and tastefully decorated. Bathroom was good, spacious and spotlessly clean.

  • 9/10 Christopher (Mature couple)

    from Portsmouth , United Kingdom;GB on  May 27, 2005

"Very close to the railway station and only about 5 - 10 minutes' walk from the interesting parts of town. Pleasant gardens close by. Apart from expensive and dubious-taste pay-per-view movies, you can't recieve any English-language broadcasts in your room, so bring a radio if you don't speak fluent French and want to stay in touch. Overall, this hotel is a good choice for comfort, situation and value." (2297615)

Very clean, excellent buffet breakfasts, trouble-free check-in and check-out.

No tea-making equipment, satellite TV or radio in room.
