"Hotel desperately needs redecoration but most importantly new bedding!!!!! Would only stay again if had no choice and, as in this instance, everything else fully booked. " (107126993)
water pressure better than expected, nice shower gel, very nice breakfast. Phone in room to call reception (becoming a rare thing in budget hotels). Staff friendly.
clean sheets but blanket not fit for my dog and large hole in bed spread - fortunately too hot to sleep with blanket so used sheet only. Also mattress worn and lumpy and bathroom floor dirty or stained, carpet smelly. General internal appearance of halls and lift grubby.

Central to town centre. Adequate parking.
No air con - rooms too hot, no cold water - cold water tap ran hot after a few seconds. Shower facilities needed replacing.

erh...none other that it was close to the wedding we attended
My room was very dirty, dated and smelly....and the bathroom was horrible with no extractor vent. No mention of a car park got us a ticket on our arrival

Pleasant staff and location
Cooked breakfast was dry and took too long to arrive. No sauces available to moisten food either other than butter.

"Love the hotel, love the reception staff, really welcoming! Stayed here 6 weeks ago, nice room, this time AWFUL room !Waitress at breakfast, truly not what a hotel needs, no matter how basic the wage !I would have said something at the time, but what would that have achieved? Will stay there again, hopefully nicer room, and the madam off duty, with luck !Suggests she finds a new career, where rudeness is acceptable, try Tesco, for instance !!!" (97984478)
i love this hotel, its quait, and thankfully old fashioned, but room no 2 is awful!also at breakfast, the young lady on duty had attitude. If you do not like customers, get out of hospitalty females like that, our trade does not need!Breakfast, foodwise, excellent, pity about our waitress!!!
The toilet leaked urine onto the floor , when flushed! The mattress was literally knackered , and no 2 room, is frankly depressing, like a room in a d.s.s.hostel, i imagine !

The night porter was in attendance at half pass midnight, we did get a verbal apology from the reception
The bar had nothing to sell. This Hotel is tired. We have stayed at this Hotel several times in the last 35 years, it is now un acceptable, we will not stay there again.

Very helpful, friendly and courteous staff (Nothing too much trouble!)
the impersonal nature of booking online and the absence of any contact numbers for the Hotel on the website

"Great stay, very low price." (108093985)
Nice and helpful staff, extraordinary service. I spend lots of time at hotels, and this was one of the friendliest ever.
Lack of internet in room, and lack of regular electricity outlets in the lobby area where net was available. Technical failure when I checked out, giving me problems to pay by card.

"I was glad I was only staying one night." (97430097)
The hotel is very run down, and the decor, especially in the room I had, was dilapidated. Wallpaper was peeling, the extract fan in the bathroom did not work, the hot tap (wrongly labelled as cold) would not shut off properly and was running constantly. The cold tap dribbled all the time.

Locatiion in town centre
Side entrance open to anyone including potential arsonists. I think you could tighten security here so persons have to enter via reception.

"Thank you very much for an excellent stay." (97535481)
Very helpful and friendly staff. The room was good with a great view of the market place and the whole experience was really good - and excellent value for money.
The food at breakfast was very tasty, but unfortunately it was cold. The only other problem we was the long walk to our room - we are an elderly couple and not able to get around easily - I should have told you this on booking.

"cheap and served a purpose but could be so much more." (97648547)
the hotel was very central to the town. the bed was very comfortable.
the lift was out of the ark more like a service lift. The general decor away from the reception areas was very dated and in poor repair. The bathroom needed refurbishment the showrer was either very hot or cold and the head hight meant my partner at 6'3 had to kneel to shower!!!

"Overall good value fo money other than the problem with the temperature. However, the interior of the hotel was a little run-down - for example a cracked window on the staircase, torn wall-paper on the bedroom corridor. It looks in need of a re-furbishment. Food was good value." (97748133)
room was perfectly adequate for its purpose
on arrival our room was very cold. The radiator was turned off on a very cold day. It took several hours for the room to reach an acceptable temperature. Overall the hotel was not very warm but not as bad as our room.

Shower tap was not working correctly, therefore bath only available.

It was very conveniently situated.
The room was cold, the wallpaper was coming off in a number of places and in need of renovation. We only stayed one night but during the morning of our departure the lift broke down twice.

"I recieved a parking ticket early Sunday morning which could have been avoided if staff had informed me of the conditions. As a visitor arriving in the dark ( Saturday night ) it was easy to misunderstand the parking signs ie No overnight parking before market day. Breakfast was good but as a vegetarian I would have liked some alternatives to Egg/bacon/sausage. Apart from these small points I would probably stay with you again" (97310868)
Largely a clean and traditional hotel. Quiet and relaxed.

"For convenience, I put up with the heating issue, but now winter is approaching, I may consider using alterntaive hotels. There is also a sporadic issue with breakfast in that I prefer the dried fruit option instead of cooked breakfast, but this isn't always available." (97101411)
Convenience
There is a significant issue with the heating, some roomds are fine but most are not. This is recognised as each room has a prtable electric heater, but this is inadequate!
