"Overall our stay was very good, the hotel is very clean and tidy, the staff are friendly and helpful, locality is ideal for all area's of the city. My only criticism is that you can hear everyone talking as they walk down the corridor past your room, which can be quite irritating in the early hours, but then I am a light sleeper." (97114631)

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The Bar area was clean, tidy and very spacious and comfortable. Rooms were very Clean and well maintained.

The Breakfast Buffet was a bit disorganised and the plates available were tiny

Recent refurbishment was to a high standard. Staff very helpful and efficient. Location good, particularly for Aircoach and easy walk to Temple Bar etc.

Left luggage not in a secure room, but we had no problem.

The king room i booked wasn't available but I was given a free upgrade to a suite at no charge - Excellent service

    LOCATION VERY CENTRAL YET QUIET.

RATHER DARK LIMITED VIEW FROM WINDOW BECAUSE OF PROXIMITY OF LARGE GABLE END BRICK WALL OF ADJACENT BUILDING.

Refurbished rooms were to a good standard. Public areas clean and well maintained, location excellent.

Breakfast not included and a little pricey.

"OK, but the breakfast experience should be better." (97557189)

I disliked the Breakfast area. Felt I was in a cellar. Should be brighten up and have some more view out. For me it is very important to have good breakfast area/food when Im on Holidays. Regardless of that, the food was OK, should be more choices of sandwich spread. Fruit was OK, and the staff was the best regarding breakfast.

Very nice room, good value for the money, overall very friendly staff and willing to help if we had any questions

The door to our room was broken and really hard to open and close. We had to have a concierge come up and show us all how to do it, and it still took a lot of man power. He also seemed to think we were a bit dull having not figured out how to open the door by ourselves.

"The hotel was still under renovation, the entrance was down a dodgy side road and the location was less than desirable I would have liked to have known the type of area it was in, the fact there was no main entrance as it was all boarded up and surrounded in scaffolding and that it was still being refurbished" (99967416)

The Room had been refurbished very well.

    The location.

We were not inform that the hotel was undergoing renovations, so we did not appreciate the fact to be woken up at 07h00 in the morning with construction workers making noise.

Location. Good special offer price. Clean and convenient. Facilities good.

A couple more PC's with internet access would have been good as we had to queue, but not really a problem.

"I have stayed in several Best Western hotels whilst on business and have always been happy with them. The Academy is the worst Best Western I have used. Having said that, the location was excellent, and Dublin itself is an excellent location for a pleasant weekend." (3305239258)

The location was excellent; the breakfast was good; the staff were friendly and efficient

The room (503) was small, there had been a flood at some time and there was still a generally damp smell. The dining room was cramped and the hotel in general felt cramped . . . narrow corridors, tiny lift, etc.

easy to find, very central to the town, very freindly staff, first class all round accomodation

the only downside was the building work, but noise did not effect are holiday as it was done in working hours

The food was excellent, and the reception staff was very nice

The bed was very uncomfotable, so much so, that neither us could sleep, also, the room backed onto a bar which was noisy until 2:00am, and then construction started around 6:30am. in other words it was very noisy.

Very noisy whe I was there construction work outside and fight in the room next door at 2.00am whitch ruined my nights sleep. There was no apology from the staff at the hotel from their atitude I couuld only take it that this kind of thing was normal.

very close to O'Connell street and air coach connection - staff were very good helpful and pleasant and clean room

due to planer operating at night and resurfacing in O'Connell Street less than 100 mtrs away - not much sleep but hotel not to blame just picked wrong night.

"It would have been good to have some in room information about the local facilities for example the best restaurants and the best entertainment venues. Also it would be good if they could state that they provide towels so you dont have to take your own! Overall I was very pleased with the accomodation and the staff and we had a great holiday!" (3304385079)

Large rooms with excellent facilities and room service. Being able to request breakfast in you room was great! Within walking distance of the city centre and the 1st stop of the city bus door is right outside!

There were builders outside our bedroom window and at times the hammering was quite annoying especially when you want a lie in! but otherwise we had no problems.

"Had two rooms. One overlooked a building site which can't be helped and building work was only 8.00 - 18:00. The room was clean but the window, although double glazed did not closed properly. The second room overlooked a courtyard which was used by pubs etc. This meant that it was very noisy with barrels/crates being loaded/unloaded well into the early hours. The hotel is in a good position at the top of O'Connell street. Very handy for the hop on-hop off bus (which goes from opposite the hotel). Hotel staff were friendly and breakfast was very good." (2742340)

The hotel was in a central location and the breakfast was very substantial.

One of our rooms was very noisy with pub barrels etc being handled at all hours. The other room had a window which did not close properly.

In down town Dublin I think teh Academy hotel could not be in a better location. Across teh street from the city bus tour pickup / drop off point. Not on teh main busy crowded O Connell street and relitively quite for a metropolitain location. Very close to teh hub of it all A really good place to start any Ireland tour or vacation. Stay on upper floors to minimize soem noise.

Directions from staff to the hotel off O Connel street as it is up a little side court yard about 50 meters Acroos the street from the Royal Dublin Hotel BUT not on O Connell Street. The side street OFF O connell Street.
