    Friendly and helpful staff

    Location next to the nightclub. Were kept awake until 3 am. Very distressing.

    clean & tidy with good breakfast

    very noisy between 2.15 am & 3.00 am with nextdoor nightclub coming out with fighting and shouting

    Early good quality breakfast available,together with the excellent Italian food.

    No lounge, and small TV Perched on top of wardrobe.

    "If you want a central location then this is for you. If you cant stand thunderous disco music until 2am then its not for you. The disco midweek is open from 10-2 with admittance only £10 which includes free drinks. a must for all party animals. A quiet holiday retreat it most definatly isnt." (99652038)

    The Restaurant and Bar was excellant.

    Noise from the Nightclub and that the windows wouldnt open to let in fresh air. This was done to keep the noise down.

    "We found the staff to be very friendly and the surounding area to be very nice with good places to eat and drink with stunning countryside surounding a very nice market town . " (97919521)

    It was nice to recive a complementry bottle of water and also to have a cooled room when we arrived

    The room was too dark and could do with a bigger window or brighter lights also was too warm when the air con was swtihed off at night.

    "Everything we needed to know about the hotels situation and parking etc was given to us as we booked. Whole process most enjoyable .     The whole experience was excellent. Rooms superb, staff helpful and polite. Spotlessly clean. Food excellent. We will definately retun for another visit.

    "Rooms at Bruce street; difficult to find and foot access not ideal through alleyway from back car park. Some rooms very noisy from adjacent nightclub+ some rooms really should have facility to open windows; ours was a solid sealed unit - it was uncomfortable(air con machine too noisy to use permanently) + was wee bit nervous in event of fire? But...overall I would recommend it;especially as an alternative to rip off Edinburgh accommodation. Best part is restaurant attached...food is really good + staff very likeable." (99819377)

    No ventilation in room at all/very uncomfortable. No private parking a disadvantage. Difficult to find.

    "Excellent. I brought my son and grandson to visit my father who is very ill, with cancer, in the local hospital. Your duty manager(ess) Vicky was outstandingly helpful (a real asset). Although I originally come from Dunfermline it is a few years since I have driven through the town (too small to be called a city) and got lost as a result of the one way systems - I could see the hotel but was lost on how to get parked close to it!"     very comfortable. facilities inside the room very excellent also.

    Only a couple of small whinges: I felt that the tv was too small and sited too high on the wall. Car parking/one way system is a nightmare (appreciate outside your control) Noise from the night clubs (again outside your control) Otherwise no complaints.

    Room was quite attractive.

    Told it was a kingsize bed but just 2 singles put together. Not good quality beds. The noise from the nightclub was just not acceptable for this price.

    "The owners have spent mucy money doing up an old church but in soundproofing the rooms they have created ovens which are uninhabitable. Sadly they have had previous complaints but still put me in the room in the first place. Got a small reduction." (3304780723)

    Clean

    Room far too hot - 27C at night - air con units very noisy and windy with noisy fan outside so could not even open window. Night porter changed me to a room on the other side where the cover to the air con vent blew all night. Got about 4 hours sleep and was forced to abandon my stay after one night. Car park is also Public so have to pay from 8.00am till 6.00pm. More an Italian resto than a hotel - no public rooms.

    "On arrival we were unable to enter the hotel via the door marked main entrance & had to phone reception to be let in. Our room smelt strongly of cigarettes & as the window did not open we found it impossible to get rid of the all pervading aroma. When attempting to get a table for dinner in the ajoining resturant at 10pm on saturday night we were told to return in 3/4 hour when a table would be free. When we returned we were told the kitchen had closed 15 minutes ago! However, the lady in reception on sunday morning was extremely friendly and helpful." (3304222620)

    Convenience in the locality

    Another chair in the bedroom would have been useful. There were two of us staying there and nowhere else to sit comfortably.

    The staff at the hotel were found to be very helpful and friendly during check in and throughout the stay. The room and hotel facilities were all very good and clean.

    Only stayed for one night and did not notice anything major that should or needed to be improved.

    "This hotel was much nicer than I was expecting as I thought I was paying for the central location. Our room was really big and had everything we needed. I wish I had known that they have DVD players in the rooms as the channels on the satelite tv are limited. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Even though the hotel is very close to the City centre it was very quiet at night and within the hotel itself it was noticebly quieter than a lot of hotels that I have stayed at in the past."     I was pleasantly surprised by the size of our room. The decor was lovely throughout and we had a really nice view.

    The taxi driver had a lot of trouble finding the place. There wasn't a lift and I wasn't offered any help with our bags. This could have been a problem had I brought a full size suitcase.

    Good sized room with modern bathroom facilities

    Soundproofing is urgently required. Nightclub was overpowerfully noisy between 10pm and 2am every night. Parking is in a public car park and is a sttep climb up steps to the hotel.

    "I was very impressed on booking the room at the level of time taken to ensure my requirements were clearly understood. I had difficulty in initally finding the hotel clearer directions for its location would be a bonus. Dissapointed to find they had no parking facilities, however this was quickly eraded by the warm and freindly welcome recieved by the receptionist on arrival. The hotel is part of a complex consisting of a spanish resturant on the ground floor of the hotel and a number of bars with mixed usage in the adjoining building, for which I was informed one bar for business persons????? Dissapointed that no great emphasis was given to persons in resident, it felt as if the hotel side was an incidental facility to fully utilise the building. The bars had some function going on during my stay and was very busy, so went else where for a drink and meal. On return refused admission to bar by door persons as told was to busy, yet as I entered the hotel group of younger persons openly addmitted." (2490827)

    Hotel room very good, clean and comfortable with above average room facilities

    Resident facilities i.e. meeting or rest area outside of the bedroom. Possible access from rear of the building for inital transfer of luggage and removal of the same.
