"An hotel of vastly superior class and service to others in its price range and exceptional value for what one gets. Restaurant food superb but food service in bar needs attention; very slow." (97210286)
Really professional hotel, standards very high.

"Hotel easy to find, and in a central location convenient for the town centre. Must have been good as the bars and restaurants were very busy, especially for a Tuesday night!" (97309367)
Simple and efficient

"We had stayed in the Talbot before and knew of its high standard and cental location. Our stay was pleasant and my one complaint ( see above ) was highlighted by the fact that the last time we stayed we had a bigger room looking out over the harbour. With hindsight we should have checked beforhand where our room was to be situated as the harbour view is important to us and as we were on a relaxing break from two small children, the constant whirring outside our room, wasn't what we wanted to hear!" (99561354)
The Talbot is centrally situated and being beside the harbour is definitely a plus. The staff were very courteous and efficient and the whole experience was very enjoyable.
The only negative side to our stay was that we were allocated a small room at the back of the hotel which looked out at other buildings no less than 40ft away. Also there was a fan or machine of some sort outside our window constantly making noise. That said we got used to it and it didn't stop us sleeping.
