    "Overall it is a lovely hotel in a great location, however the furniture needs a little updating. Really enjoyed our stay and would return." (97598775)

    The location was lovely and very convenient for us. The breakfast and service was great. Nice views from the room window and a good sized car park. The staff were all friendly.

    The shower door was not secure and there was a little wear and tear to the furniture. Apart from that no other dislikes.

    "Probably the worst hotel we have stayed in." (107288723)

    Hotel was conveniently located for where we wanted to visit.

    The room was very basic, dated and in need of decoration ie a chunk of plaster off the wall. The en suite was shabby and looked grubby - neither of us used the shower, choosing to wait until we arrived home. There was no loo roll holder. Our room was over the bar and we had to endure Kareoke until the early hours. Poor staffing levels ie one member of staff providing waitressing and reception service on Sunday morning as other staff hadn't turned in for work. There were a large number of guests staying at the hotel and this meant that breakfast was chaotic and uncomfortable with guests hovering around waiting to be seated. Access to bedrooms was through bar/breakfast area - in the evening we had to walk through a private party to access our room and then negotiate our way through breakfast tables to check out the following day. Again, very uncomfortable.

    Left waiting at reception whilst trying to check in. Size and cleanliness of the room, I am sure there was a bogey on the wall next to my bed. Not very well cleaned bathroom, thick dust on light above mirror and on extractor fan. Noise coming through the walls of the next room. I would not stay here again. Over priced for what it is.

    The staff were very friendly, polite, and extremely efficient, the hotel was perfect, I would thoroughly recommend Holden Vale Hotel to everyone.

    I can't live there 365 days a year.

    Nice resturant, bar and atmosphere. Staff very good: friendly, efficient and patient.

    Room was very basic for price(decor, carpet etc) in comparision with the rest of hotel which was very nice, Shower cubicle sliding doors were very unsafe. Towel rail coming off the wall. Forgot to tell the staff which should have done.

    The hotel was set in a lovely quiet area, with pleasant views.

    Dislike is not the word we would use but a bit more attentive staff for booking in and out would have been nice.

    "We were at the hotel for a school reunion which was held at the hotel. Our experience was therefore limited.It was adequate for that purpose. The food provided at the reunion was uninspired but I am not aware whether that was the hotels choice or the organisers. The hotel was adequate for the night but if I was staying longer it would not be an automatic choice. I would recommend the hotel for a limited stay." (99794523)

    The location was excellent. The heating level was good and it was a very quiet location.

    The bedroom was too small.

    "The hotel was easy to find and was local to main roads in all directions. The room was clean and well presented and had everything i needed. The staff were friendly and helpful and made me feel welcome. The evening meal was really nice and the breakfast was excellent. To sum up, my stay was enjoyable." (3305082318)

    Easy to find, convenient for area being visited

    The first room, the bathroom light was faulty, the second room, there was a very loud extractor fan outside the window
