"I don't think there is a lot that the hotel could do other than spend an awful lot of money on sound proofing the rooms. The issue is the same in any hotel I've stayed in whilst away on business trips and that is the selfishness of fellow guests. Maybe a few signs strategically placed reminding them that other people have paid to stay at the hotel too!" (97469682)
Basic but clean.
Television was faulty, rooms are inadequately sound proofed (was awoken at 5.30am by alarm calls and a television being switched on).

"breakfast - tea and coffee cold. Came in mid afternoon and needed something to eat (morning wedding, evening party) - finally managed to get room service, tried to get meal at Lakeside international at suggestion of staff on front desk but this was closed, and then came back to original hotel to order room service." "On arriveing at the complex, there was some confusion as there are two hotels. It would have been helpful to know that before hand, also there is a complex. The leisure facilities are very good but are not at the hotel they are a short walk away, but are on the complex. The hotel staff are very helpful and are able to help with information on local events, bus and train time tables." (99250811)
the room was well setout. the beds were comfortable . the hotel was easy to get around and every thing was easy to find.

members of staff were most helpful and accommodating when we lost our key; room service food was excellent and good value for money
small windows meant that rooms were roasting hot in evening; ancient heating and fan system as well as old fashioned doors that slammed shut meant that rooms were unbelievably noisy at night

"The hotel is part of an entertainment complex but no noise or disturbance was noticed. There is a sister hotel on site and its facilities and restuarant can be used. The hotel is very quiet at weekends during the winter period, ideal for a relaxing break. My one complaint is that there was no toast available at breakfast. It is within walking distance of shops for papers or general items." (99270422)
Clean, roomy, comfortable with all the necessary facilities and daily room cleaning.

"We initially drove up to the Lakeside International, and thankfully we didn't have our luggage so there was no embarrasment but the helpful receptionist on duty pointed us in the right direction which was only a few hundred yards away. On arrival to the Continental we were met with an empty car park and the receptionist looking out the window....once we had checked in she said I was expecting you.....there's nothing like the personal touch which makes one feel special. It was a quiet weekend so being from London we enjoyed the slow lane for a change. Our room was spacious with a double and single bed but the double wasn't much bigger than the single, it was a rare occasion when it would have been ok to sleep in separate beds! The decor is dated and could do with a facelift but this in no way compromised the cleanliness and order of things. It's a fairly large complex with an over 25's Disco and a floating Chinese restuarant so you don't have to go far for a night out. The breakfast was buffet style and their was plenty of it and it was nice for me and hubby to have the restaurant to ourselves. A good weekend had and would have no hesitation in returning." Clean, tidy and well presented with a super breakfast spread. Friendly Staff and a iron in the room......YAY!
Decor, although in good order needs updating. Soundproofing non existent and the double bed should really be reclassified as a super single hardly enough space to spread your wings.
