"Overall very Good!!! ...but the areas for improvement would be.... 1) I found your policy of zero refund for all cancellations off putting and harsh. I think if i had of wanted to book our stay with you any more than a week or two ahead I would probably of looked for a different hotel, as it was I was fairly certain I would not need to cancel. 2) The additional £8 per day parking was an unexpected cost. 3) One of the main reasons we booked to stay in your hotel was for the Spa facilities, but when we got there we were told it is closed on Sundays and Mondays!! My girl friend was not impressed!" (97967340)

Quick and efficient check-in. Helped by having a very fast, welsh-speaking receptionist!

Upon check-out, I wasn't given a carpark pass and had to return to the hotel.

The room itself, bag storage and cleanliness of the hotel.

    Time to check in.

"the stay was comfortable but very expensive for what it was, I have stayed in better places, did not eat or drink in the hotel as it was way to over priced" (97004409)

booking in was very quick and easy on the internet, also on arrival. Staff helpful, room very clean

cost a mortgage to have drinks in the bar!!! very very over priced and v.a.t. also added on drinks? no internet connection in rooms only in certain points in the hotel,Basic television package i.e.no movie channels to select from also no points of interest for guests to visit

"I was happy to be in the hotell," (97755840)

Breakfast was really good. Personal was very helpfull. I liked it.

The first day I did not say anything but my towel rack was not fastened dow and one side came off. The next day it was just set in place without repair and as I touched it the towels fell to the floor again. The toilet paper holder was not secure on the wall and the paper fell on the floor. I did tell the front desk as I left about the needed repairs.

"A clean, well staffed hotel with excellent facilities." (97866660)

The hotel was an excellent example of what it is ... a chain hotel so has he look and feel of similar hotels. Very clean, staff all excellent, friendly, helpful, not intrusive but there if necessary. Room had all you need, good shower (pressure and temperature), bed good size and comfortable with plenty of pillows. Breakfast buffet style but hots were hot and plenty of choice.

Outside of hotel has eastern europe 1960's look. Noise from in room ventilation system. On line directions to hotel from M32 beat us, as no road numbers given on signs!!

the quality and size of the room, finishing touches and cleanliness.

We were a bit jealous that our friends who booked on same website and payed the same amount as us ended up with a bigger and more luxury room than ours. Also didnt like paying for parking.

"We were extremely favourably impressed with your hotel and the value for money, compared with others we have stayed in. In spite of being a large hotel, it was warm and friendly. We loved being able to swim early in the morning and we particularly liked the bar area. We only had breakfast on two mornings but the quality and choice was excellent." (97845265)

Comfortable bed, good shower, radio and tv reception

    Couldn't fault anything

"The Hotel and its team were of excellent quality. The City centre is an easy walk and the facilities were excellent. Small but perdectly equipped gym helped work off the excesses!" (99508297)

A very modern, refurbished hotel with excellent facilities. The rooms were of a large size for a City hotel and the service recieved during our stay was excellent

There was a couple of large Christmas parties that hogge dthe bar in the evenings but that has to be expected at this time of year! Didnt enjoy paying eight quid for an overnight car park!

Central location, walking distance of main shopping area of Bristol. Room was fairly newly decorated and lovely spacious bathroom with robes.Breakfast was really good, best quality I have had in a large hotel, well worth £10 (although included in our rate). Flat screen tv was nice too!

Coving in bedroom was coming off, generally felt a bit like staying in an impersonal box! Swimming pool was out of action. Drinks extortionate prices in the bar and can't believe we were charged £8 a day for parking in their car park - a rip off but no choice as there are so many parking restrictions in the city!

"We went to Bristol to celebrate a relatives 60th birthday and all of the family, and friends from around the world stayed at this hotel. Everyone was impressed with the quality of the hotel, and the staff. Everything was of the highest quality and the rooms come with iron & ironing board, safe and fridge, with tea & coffee making facilities. Also satellite TV with Sky sports so we were able to watch a match which we thought we would have to miss. The beds were excellent and provided us with a great nights sleep. The food was well cooked and served, the bar snacks and room service were excellent." (99708305)

THE HOTEL THE FURNITURE AND FITTINGS WERE OF EXCELLENT QUALITY. THE LINENS WERE ALSO OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY, TOWELS SOFT AND FLUFFY,PLUS TOWELLING ROBES. ALSO TOWELS WERE SUPPLIED FOR THE POOL. I WOULD RECCOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE WHO ENJOYS THEIR CREATURE COMFORTS. THE STAFF WERE ALSO EFFICIENT AND VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL, WHICH ADDED TO OUR ENJOYMENT OF OUR STAY THERE.

I WOULD HAVE PREFERRED TO HAVE AT LEAST ONE SET OF DRAWERS FOR OUR CLOTHES, I FOUND THE SHELVES IN THE WARDROBES A BIT HIGH FOR ME, ALSO I FOUND THE LIGHTING NOT AS BRIGHT AS I LIKE, ALTHOUGH THERE WERE AMPLE LIGHTS IN THE ROOM.

  • 8/10 Paul ( Young couple)

from Gloucester , GB  on  July 30, 2007

"We picked this hotel because of its location and the fact that there was ample free parking. We attended a concert that night in bristol city centre, this finished and we returned to the hotel to have some drinks at the bar, we were amazed as this is a 4 star hotel in the city centre to be told the bar shuts at 11pm, unbelievable. We were told if we wanted drinks we would have to order them via room service and drink them in the room. If we had known this we would possibly not have stayed. The breakfast which was a buffet style was excellent, lots of choice. The cooked options were excellent and not greasy or fatty at all. On checkout we were charged £8.50 for overnight car parking. I remarked that it was free car parking and that i would not pay, the receptionist said it was £8.50 and i would have to pay, i produced our booking confirmation (via internet) where it stated parking was free. We weren't charged which was good but another reason if we had known we would not have picked this hotel." (99139643)

Location was excellent, clean room and modern interior.

Strange smell in the room, whether it had just been decorated wasn't sure. Also the windows didn't open..... what if there was a fire in the outside corridor ??

"Very friendly and helpful staff, beautiful and clean, decoration is very classy and modern and we felt very comfortable there. My children (16 years) had the greatest time, they had room service which was great, the food was lovely and breakfast was the best. I would suggest if you fancy a few nights away go there and relax. The pool is in a very romantic setting with lovely mood lights, the gym was small but who really wants to work out when you are relaxing. Next time I will be making use of the spa facilities." (97634250)

The accommodation was fresh, comfortable and very classy, I am actually contacting head office to get the artwork and furniture for my own house. The hotel was clean and welcoming. Breakfast was lovely. I travel frequently and have to say this is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in, and the breakfast was better here than any of the other hotels I have stayed at. I will definately be returning!!!!

The facilities were luxurious, the staff were polite and well mannered.

Car parking facilities limited to first come, first served. How does that work in a 24/7 business? Who is ever first?! Offer alternative parking arrangements also.

Well situated, clean, comfortable bed, spacious shower (big enough for 2)nice little extras, great breakfast, sophisticated decor.

The fact you could not open the windows in the hotel room. The outside of the building could do with a little modernisation.

Staff were pleasant and the hotel room had good equipment which worked well.

The vent in the wall through which blew a freezing gale force wind which could not be closed & the lack of good lighting. And the cost of using the phone in the room, very excessive.
