"Excellent location just right for town and beaches and not noisy on saturday night. Good quality accommodation and well worth the room rate from Active Hotels. Breakfast was a very short time window and started at 8a.m.; rather late for business travellers, some of whom said they had to miss breakfast." (97677679)

Location, quality of hotel, room and food. Staff.

    Limited breakfast times.

    Central location overlooking scenic parkland

Breakfast stops at 9.30am. Bedding was very old....full of dust.

"This is a lovely hotel - I have stayed there before. The hotel is clean and bright - but the room they gave me this time had only a tiny window and so it was gloomy. The bathroom was bright and airy though." (97313937)

Location just next to Bournemouth park

My room was gloomy and just underneath the water tanks

"Room was totally adequate for our needs. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the bar / dining area was very up to date following a recent refurb." (97239446)

Convenience of being in quiet area but only a few minutes walk to the town centre

"good central location, but unfortunately allows groups of hens/ stags to stay who caused noise in the early hours with room parties and no night staff to quiten them. Guest had to repeatedly ask them to be quiet. would not have booked if we knew that groups were staying there. Breakfast was adequate but no continental option." (97501642)

    Central Location

Groups staying that caused a disturbance all night and numerous guests had to get up in the early hours to tell them to be quiet as there was no night staff.

"This is a perfect hotel for an overnight stay or a couple of nights - The bar overlooking the gardens was great, but I'd find the room a bit too dated for a longer stay (old fashioned, especially the bathroom)and it would be frustrating if you were using the hotel as a driving base - purely because of the performance to get your car out of the car park, but.... I am basing this on a one-night stay on a Friday night. It could be completely different on a weekday." (99942312)

1.The location. 2, Staff - the check-in lady was extremely helpful as on-line we had only been able to book a single and a twin - she swapped it for a triple, with a smile! 3, The bar/breakfast room was modern with a fantastic view/entrance to the public gardens.

The bathroom needs updating and the bedroom was a close second. The car park was like a slide-puzzle, leave one space and all the cars had to be shuffled around in the morning - the poor guy who had to stand guard so that I didn't get a parking ticket when they moved my car into the road when they wanted to get a car out.

    Good value for money. Central.

One bedroom window did not work. The grubby balcony.

"Good medium size family hotel. Good Bar/restaurant on ground floor overlooking the lower gardens. Small car park at front of hotel. Nice and friendly staff. There were 10 of us staying in the same hotel and all of them had tiny rooms. We were fortunate to get the best room at the hotel as it had a beautiful balcony with table and chairs!" (99598194)

Our bedroom had a lovely balcony (the only one in the hotel). Our room was a double large room, however all the other rooms were quite small. The bathroom was adequate but quite small.

Small bathroom but it was clean! the TV was not working properly and the bathtub taps were quite loose....

"a nice place with adequet parking, and easy to find as it is near the Bournemouth International Center (lots of signs to that)" (97933858)

There was wireless internet in the hotel and I was lucky enough to have a signal in my room I could log on to (not guaranteed)

There was no room service offered or own food alowed in the hotel. As a woman traveling alone I don't always like to sit in a restraunt by myself and eat an evening meal.

"For the price we paid it was a good little hotel, pleasant and comfortable enough. Perfect if you do not intend to be in your room for long and want a base close to the sea/conference center etc. Be warned regarding the restaurant service (quality of food good though), this is the first time in a long time both my husband and I agreed not to tip, they didnt have a clue about standard table waiting practices and there were plenty of other options close by charging same prices." (99021870)

Our stay at The Lampeter was enjoyable, the room was large and tidy as were the bathroom facilities (nice big towells!) and all common areas of the hotel. It was a perfect spot for the conference center (5 min walk) and there were lots of good little restaurants & takeaway options nearby. 10 min walk to the sea but the weather was not condusive to walks on the beach during our weekend unfortunately!

The inhouse restaurant served good food but the service was very very slow, 40 mins for a hot sandwich and a few crisps on the side! We gave them the benefit of the doubt and went back but every time it was the same, fine in an evening when you have no other plans but frustrating when you want to be off doing things. The bed was small and we could feel the springs through the mattress but they provided ample pillows which was a nice change. Tiny TV on a brace on the ceiling was practically useless.

"Bournemouth is certainly not the holiday resort it once was, it is very drab and rundown in areas, at night one feels under threat from unruly gangs who show no respect for visitors, beer and drugs. I understand this is a problem the local council and police are aware of. We would not recommend anyone to stay in central Bournemouth itself. But we enjoyed our stay visiting Poole and Christchurch by bus, which are delightful places." (99077885)

Very central, easy walking access to town etc, Local bus service excellent

Bedroom small.very noisy air venting shower fitting needs attention sound proofing poor. Bed worn out, definately needs a new mattress.

"in hindsight the infomation on the web page was good, together with the reviews, and it was this that swung in favour for our choice. i feel that the hotel should make efforts to gain a rating so far as either stars or tourist board, and if the reason for not doing so is finanial, this is disappointing. such a move would give greater credibility to reviews." (99789711)

our room on the top floor was compact and bejou but adequate, our mothers room was spacious for their needs. the hotel overall was well presented, clean and facilities were good.

top floor room's shower was spluttery, car parking was tiresome with the car keys left at reception and the manager sometimes having to move several vehicles to allow our vehicle to be moved from the carpark. evening menu could be more flexible with options not from the al a carte menu

The room and location was very nice. Hygienic situation was good. Check in/out was done by very friendly and helpful people

"We booked two rooms at the hotel, the single room was excellent - and good value as there was no extra charge for this. The double room was great - with views accross the gardens. Reasonable rates for the hotel too. Enjoyable breakfasts with a good selection. The staff throughout the hotel were friendly. One of the best things about the hotel is its central location, within easy reach of the beach, shops, buses, bars and restaurants. We visit Bournemouth every year and will certainly use this hotel again." (99869470)

The Lampeter is in a great location for central Bournemouth. Clean, comfortable and good value for money.

There was nothing at all to dislike about the Lampeter - it's a great hotel.
