"Adequate, but lack of close proximity parking facilities an issue for me" (107203206)

The room was clean and complete with all required facilities

Coice and quality of food for evening meal was not great. Distance from local parking facilities is an issue for people with items of luggage.

"Not very good but you are often the only hotel in Reading with vacancies" (107187448)

    Good location

Meal facilities very poor. Breakfast food was cold. Long queue to use toaster. Tables too low for comfort; more suited for use in a bar.

"otherwise fine besides the Fri/Sat noise. Good location" (97896673)

Old style hotel certainly a draw

Noise from center court garden bar was unacceptable on the Fridy and Saturday nights with bar open unbtil 2:00am. No chance of sleeping until 2:30am. This could easily be rectified though by ushering all patrons back into the bar at midnight for the last two hours. Will not stay here again because of the Fri/Sat night fiasco. Unfortunate since it is a great location and a quaint hotel otherwise. Just bet the drinking back into the bar and any smokers out on to the side street instead of the central courtyard. I think your weekend profits will improve if you do so as i'd pay more than the 49GBP for those nights with a bit of crowd control in the coourtyard.

"I thought the hotel was fine, the room was clean and comfy. The only downside to the hotel was the breakfast, the scrambled egg looked several weeks old and the whole experience was a let down. The staff were friendly but when I asked the receptionist if she could find out the times of the trains that day she informed me that was not part of her job. This is very unusual in comparision to all the other hotels I have stayed at. Overall good and a fantastic location for Reading Town Centre." (97481640)

    Clean, smart and comfy

    Shower was weak

    "Enjoyable" (97459014)

Town Centre location Small hotel with character and period charm - a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Good reception and bar staff Good bar food. Great full English breakfast included in the room rate

Car Parking - had to park 400 yds away at the Oracle public car park and it was raining v.hard.

"The lack of a lift and having to negotiate narrow corridors when carrying luggage was a distinct disadvantage." (97436752)

All room facilities available and working Breakfast good (but see below)

No lift - long climb to room. Unpleasant aroma - drains? - in part of landing Room window difficult to open and close Breakfast 'fruit salad' was 80%+ sliced apples

    The central location.

Our dirty towels hung over the door and towel rail to dry. No repsonse to a reported loose toilet seat.

"Nicely located hotel within the town centre with clean and tidy room and providing good supply of teas, coffes and iron pressing table. Just as we expected. A free internet connection would be a bonus." (99868090)

Efficiently located in town centre, clean and tidy room.

    Internet connection is not free.

Clean, furiture and decoration up to date.

1-Felt insecure-strange fire exit stairway coming through room from other floor.2-Need fully opaque screen on bathroom.Otherwise have to use bathroom in the dark.3-No private parking-public parking cost £16 ,therefore adding this to the cost brings the overall value for money into question.
