    "Would not return" (99968092)

The room was clean and everything worked.

Access to rooms from outside walkways/stairs. Room very small and drab. Very strong smell of disinfectant which was overpowering at first. Having left window and door open for well over an hour the smell reduced but mixed with damp. It would be better to air the rooms than try and hide damp smell with cleaner. Outside of hotel in need of spruce up.

"Staff were quite friendly but gave the impression that they would rather 'be elsewhere'. They were aware that my sister's car had broken down on route and we did not arrive until 8.30 pm. We were both very tired, hungry and it was raining but we struggled with our luggage on our own and were informed that the restaurant was closed. We went down to dinner on the Saturday at 7:20 pm and reception said we were too late. The catering manager said she would fit us in so we paid £20 for 2 dinners and £9 for a bottle of wine. The starter arrived at 7:40 and we were asked, during our main course, what we wanted for dessert as they wanted to clean the kitchen. At 8 pm one of the waiters told us that he could finish when he had hoovered his station but he could not do that whilst guests were in the dining room. As we were the only two left we presumed that meant us. By 8:05 I asked if I could take my dessert and wine up to our room to finish it as I had rushed the 1st 2 courses and could not manage it. I feel a course in Customer services would not go amiss and, as the restaurant closes so early, maybe a bar menu could be available, even if it was only sandwiches and fries." (108024964)

Excellent location and views. Leisure facilities were superb.

Not much room in bedroom due to mis matched furniture. Mirror on wall away from electrical socket so difficult to dry/style hair. Kettle located away from tea making facilities due to placement of sockets. Shower kept going hot then cold, almost got scalded at one point.

lovely lightening in the day, good view.

breaktfast was too early, and not a fry up or anything like that. i think you need to do something with the front of the hotel for during the day. very dull compare to evening lightening.

"the overall facilities at the hotel were good with good leisure facilities. did not like having to have meals when the hotel decided i had to have them. a more flexible approach would help to enjoy more. the hotel is under going changes so may try again in the future" (97995372)

    "Pleasant experience" (107286993)

Sightview - gym - pool - bar and dancing program

small room - plastic glass in the room - not having table tennis court though I was told initially there is - not having proper place for putting my toothbrush etc above washbasin.

"Would not visit again, unless could find no where else to stay on a business trip. If I had travelled a long distance and turned up at this hotel with my family for a summer break - I would definitely not stay !!" (107250787)

Staff at the hotel were polite and consciencious. Actual room was of a fair standard

The hotel was in a very poor state of repairs, including all exteriors, interiors, communal areas. All aspects of the hotel facilities were in disrepair.... rather reminded me of 'Faulty Towers'. The web description was not accurate given the reality. Breakfast did not begin until 9.00am which was too late considering my stay was for business purposes, breakfast is usually offered from around 7.30am

"Generally I got the feeling that this Hotel is being managed like an old age home and staff treats customers as if they are a nuisance. I would suggest that you start by teaching your staff that love and mate is not an appropriate way of addressing customers in any hotel, regardless of the fact that this is clearly a cheep hotel who really do not care if their customers return or not!" (97720917)

Excellent waiter at breakfast (foreign male, no nametag).

Paint chipping away from walls in room, heating insufficient, were cold all night, bed & blanket too small, cannot see TV from bed - badly mounted, no teaspoon in room, had to stir coffee with my finger, breakfast was terrible - food tasted old & cold, too many people on the same table, not enough space to use cutlery without bumping into the person next to you, rude on-duty manager in the dining room, did not greet , just pointed us in the direction of our table without saying a word. General smell of urine around the premises, room & dining room.

"I was extremely disappointed, I feel I was duped by the internet advert as this hotel is a ex Pontins still run as such. I have also made a complaint but no one has come back to me as yet." (107127658)

Tatty Hotel. Mis-sold on internet. Pontins beds STILL in use. TV image was orange. Hotel staff were unhelpful. Breakfast was military style.

"We thought the hotel good value for money. Our room was clean and newly decorated(though a little on the small side), with newly fitted ensuite. Dining room staff very efficient and pleasant. Breakfast food choice and quality could not be faulted. Our stay was not long enough to sample all facilities on offer, but were impressed by amount on offer. We would definately stay again, it's more economical than a caravan with a lot more space. " (97082103)

location, away from town. Views, supurb. parking. Entertainment(what we saw of it one l night)

external decor, tatty chairs all along balcony

Excellent value for money for a one night stay - did not use hotel facilities other than the TV and coffee making facilities in the room - excellent TV reception.

Set time for breakfast - rather late and so left before breakfast.
