"was happy with booking on line - but price was quoted at £42 on line and when we checked in it was £45 - no explanation was given but paid accordingly." (107108759)

    good enough for our requirements.

staff seemed to be multi tasking - ie on reception - running bar and taking food orders!!! (the chap who booked us in was then serving us at the bar) Not a problem but people were waiting in bar area at times as staff were busy in other parts of hotel.

"Would not stay there again, but staff was friendly" (107128057)

Staff helpful in advising you not to walk about the area at night and to be extra careful throught the day!! Also advised to park under the CCTV camera! Nice area

Window cracked in hotel, door boarded where it had been damaged, windows would not close properly and being on the ground floor it wasn't very safe.

"Only 'slept' in hotel, so can't comment on bar/facilties. From what we did see of ammenities though, it did look old and in desparate need of new decor!!" (107127810)

Price was fair cosidering state of hotel. Kept as clean as possible by the staff.

Hotel in general was 'tired' and could do with a facelift. The bed in the room was very poor as the mattress was way past it's useful life....especially in a hotel which led to a poor nights sleep.

    THE HOUSEKEEPING WERE VERY FRIENDLY

ON ARRIVAL I WENT TO THE BAR TO FIND SOMEONE TO CHECK ME IN AND ASKED THE BAR MAID COULD I PLEASE BE CHECKED IN ,SHE ASKED A YOUNG MAN AND HE IF HE KNEW WHERE THE RECEPTIONIST WAS AND HE DIDNT KNOW ,THEY THAN PROCEEDED TO TALK BETWEEN THEMSELVES. I WAITED FIFTEEN MINUITES TO BE CHECKED IN.THE CARPETS WERE WORN AND DIRTY ON THE STAIRS.THE BREAKFAST WAS GREASY AND WHEN I ASKED FOR SCRAMBLED EGG FOR MY 4 YERR OLD SON I WAS TOLD THE CHEF WOULDNT DO IT. I WAS RECOMENDED YOUR HOTEL BY MY SISTER WHO WORKED FOR THE SPIRIT GROUP ,NEEDLESS TO SAY I WAS DISSAPOINTED

    quiet hotel

water sipping through ceiling and wet walls, if had choice would not have stayed there as wet walls are not a healthy place for young children breading ground for chest and breathing problems.

"You get what u pay for Peeling wallpaper, holes in doors, broken windows, broken heating blocked drainage, lights out , Clean sheets and towles. Seemed cheap when compared to other hotels close by, but why save £10 to suffer the above comments and have a room that smelt like the inside of a dustbin." (97029706)

    Closeness to BlueWater

General disrepair / neglect of buildings and rooms

"The staff were helpful and the main hotel was good. The food was freshly cooked and good." (97432715)

The door to the bathroom was not screwed up properly, the first light did not work, the bedside lights were loose, the switch was loose and the heater was inadequate. The second room was better but someone had punched a hole in the wardrobe door.

    Pleasant view

Shower was poor and no shaver point

"I travel on business and on average stay in one hotel per week throughout the country. I have stayed in a range of overnight accomodation ranging from very good to "never again". This one falls into the latter category" (107217326)

Overall in dire need of decorating. Old, dirty decor, window locks broken. Pub food was some of the worst I have had, refried chips and a soggy, microwaved pie. When asked if everything was OK I replied that the food was not very good as they could see by almost the entire meal being left. The only response I got was "sorry Sir"

"Room: Dirty, windows would not shut and lock, no heating, Heater wireing just lay on the floor, heater wire cut and repaired with tape, Hole in room door pluged with a bit of wood and tissue. Dirty decore, shower head and pipe was missing. Bar: Locals drunk and fighting. Dog in the bar. Restaurant: Dog in Kitchen!, incorrect meals delivered, Drinks charged to the bill that we had not ordered. Windows cracked and just a very poor place to stay. DO NOT TAKE CHILDREN." (97235023)

You could switch the noisy extractor of in the bathroom.
