"the hotel was good for our needs - a place to stay before flying out next morning." (97598083)
Value for money. Lots of easily accessible parking available. close to Manchester Airport. Good value meals.
Comprehensive instructions on how to find hotel were not available.

"Not enough staff and poor communication." (107117797)
First room should not have been used - paper and plaster off ceiling. One socket did not work. Changed room after one night and second room was a great improvement, but TV remote not working.

"Satisfactory but would look else where next time" (107121708)
Idealy situated for airport and business
There were no curtains to the window therefore light was a problem in the early hours, breakfast layout was somewhat hapazard with toast being offered on the same plate as the cooked breakfast, it was a bit disorganised.

"terrible! dont stay there ever!" (97086426)
nice location
brken toilet in bedroom, long nail from toilet roll holder sticking out of wall, doors locked in morning had to wait for them to be opened so that we could get into breakfast. breakfast was appalling service. no tables were laid for breakfast.there was no fruitjuice or milk out for cereals. we had no spoonsand waitress didn't know were they were. eventually she found some.toast arrived uncut on a huge plate.floors ,tables and chairs were dirty. it was worse than fawlty towers!

"Because of the lack of cleanliness and lack of quality standards that the staff have I would not stay here again and in fact told colleagues to cancel their future bookings as I know they would not be happy with that poor level of service. my colleague would only order toast for breakfast as he did not have confidence in the staff providing him with a quality and Hygienically safe breakfast. Other couples staying at the hotel were discussing poor quality of service too, I would imagine this explains why the hotel is losing its repeat custom (unless they are skipping breakfast)." (108010394)
rooms spacious and clean
Breakfast terrible and unedible _ reheated sausage was rock hard and mushrooms obliterated through the deep fat fryer, also unedible, fried egg overcooked and crispy on underneath. Fruit juice glasses dirty with lipstick, tables not clean (sticky). Duty manager needs re-training in front of house Quality service and barstaff member who cooks breakfast needs replacing for a properly trained chef.

"The hotel rooms are clean, the pub's upholstery filthy and the food mediocre, it is a child friendly chain pub (not relaxing). This would not be somwhere I would choose to go to again. " (108059485)
Friendly staff, rooms clean
Pub/restaurant - disgusting filthy upholstery, food mediocre to poor. maintenance poor (eg broken toilet seat in first room I was put in and missing sink plug in the second)

Location, price and car park
The breakfast in the morning was very poor. I ordered a veggie breakfast and it came with bacon on. I then sent it back and ordered toast and tea. The toast arrived cold and no milk for my tea. The member of staff gave me some cream - which I did not want to put in tea so I had to go back to my room to get some milk. The cup in which the tea arrived in was also dirty. The whole party I was with (my husband and 2 other couples) thought that the breakfast was very much so below standard.

Value for money
Upon arrival at the hotel, although I had a confirmation printed from the internet ,the hotel had no record of my booking. The hotel restaurant was closed and thus I could not dine or get breakfast on site.

Room was clean and fresh. Bed very comfy. Breakfast excellent. Staff very attentive, polite and smiley.
Downstairs areas smelt stale and musty. Curtains in room were hanging off runner in places.

"There are much better B&B.s in the area for the same price, the hotel was fairly empty (5 people at breakfast). So somewhere to go only as a last resort. " (97253838)
Lowish cost - £55 is about standard for a chain hotel. Staff enthusiastic and hard working, and they mailed me my invoice which I didn't get on check-in because the printer wasn't working. Bed linen clean.
General feeling of neglect. Bar area had a curious odour - vinegar or something, and in general was 'sticky'. No-one on hotel reception - staff had to finish bar orders. Phone didn't work. Shower parts in bathroom. My breakfast table was actually sticky (varnish). Surroundings somewhat depressing. The building may have been the old workhouse, but it had no feeling of history or style.

the room had just been refurbished and was of an exceptional standard. we had booked a twin room but got a queen size bed plus a single.
"hotel" is actually a pub with a family orientation so lots of screaming kids running round.

"Good value and no serious complaints." (107154943)
Spacious room with comfortable beds.
Hair dryer not working. Curtain rails in need of attention. Bathroom somewhat antiquated.
