Central location. Value for money
Benoit is doing a stirling job renovating the hotel. The exterior is not appealing and the interior leaves a lot to be desired.

It was just fine

"The hotel is being refurbished, the bathromm had been and was lovely. The bedroom could do with new wallpaper or a coat of paint and more thought put into the furnishings. However overall the hotel was excellent value for money. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Numerous restaurants and brasseries nearby meant lack of restaurant in the hotel was not a problem." Nice friendly atmosphere, excellent location, good continental breakfast
TV was on top of a wardrobe

Cosy room and off the main road. Also nice location opposite a park and off-street parking was available.
The shower needs a door - it leaked water on the bathroom floor and the floorboards upstairs were quite noisy.

"Please don't be put off by the external appearance of this hotel, the reception and lounge / breakfast room are full of charm and texture and the rooms spacious , clean and comfortable. The ferry port is approx 5/6 minutes away" (97340014)
Very warm welcome, the room was lovely with a brand new en-suite,comfortable bed and acess to a balcony overlooking the park. Hotel very convenient for a good choice of restaurants and after a quite night and a good sleep - we had a deliciously fresh breakfast and after leaving the hotel, we were on the ferry port in approx 6 minutes - full marks for an excellent and convenient stop over.
The only small gripes were lack of hot drink making facility in the room and the price of the G & T's

"Look forward to staying again when the hotel has finished its refurbishment. The secure parking to the rear is very useful - especially if you have a motorbike or a car in the back of which all your recently purchased goddies can be seen ..." (99796846)
The room (10)was well decorated and had a lovely cast-iron bath. We could see leopard skin print carpets under the doors of some of the other rooms....oooooh!
The refurbishment of the hall and stairwells is 'on-going'.... However, do not let the alarmingly grotty exterior disuade you from going inside.

"Like the convenience of the location for restaurants / bars / shops. Renovation needs to be completed asap as initial impressions are not good." (99144505)
Comfortable room. Hotel is in a quiet street in a good location for Calais Centre.
Whilst our bedroom was good,parts of the the hotel are undergoing renovation. Decor was quite poor on entry / stairs etc;

"A very nice hotel. Room very clean and functional. The hotel is in a quite part of Calais opposite a park, but turn right out of the hotel 2 minutes walk then you are faced with a road turn right for bars and eatery's (for all prices and tastes)turn left and 10 minutes later you are in the shopping area. Good bars La bounty, the irish corner, la beaurea and the hovercraft" (99309349)
very clean functional

We were made to feel extremely welcome. Good breakfast. The view over the park was an additional bonus.
Shower head needed descaling & water didn't drain away efficiently.

"Generally good value. Rooms are recently decorated with interesting styles. New clean sheets and recent bathrooms. Friendly efficient staff. Good central location, but quiet (winter)." (99084079)
Good value, eccentric character of the rooms.
Exterior condition was in need of refurbishment.

"At first sight the hotel looked very poor, but on entering it was obvious that a lot of refurbishment work was going on. We had a twin room which was adequate, the beds were comfortable and the linen clean and fresh. The room had not been renovated, but the bathroom had. The bathroom was big, modern and clean. The breakfast was good value, plenty of choice and nicely presented. There is a lot of work to do and we felt that it would be very nice when completed. However, in the mean time it was perfectly acceptable for the price paid." (97948659)
Very central, easy to find, easy parking. Pleasant outlook over the park.
