"In general a good value, family run hotel with helpfull staff and a good bar which stayed open until a reasonable time. The room was clean and had good views. I would use the hotel again." (99515316)
The hotel was good value for money with helpfull staff, clean rooms and good views.
The restaurant was shut which was inconvenient as most outside restaurants were closed due to the time of year.

"that there was no hairdryer. hilly access. Loved the stay. food was good, breakfast could be varied a bit. please note that we are commenting on our November stay as we cancelled for Feb for this hotel and the hotel in San Pedro. Would definately return. Staff were helpful and the reception staff obtained a phone charger for me, w2hich was very helpful." (97104576)

"La Cumbre is a lovely, traditional Spanish hotel. The staff were very helpful, polite and friendly. Food was excellent in appearance, taste and value for money. Drinks were reasonably priced as well. The hotel is excellently maintained and spotlessly clean. Noise was not an issue and there were various seating areas for your comfort including a lovely garden and pool area. The only slight concern would be for less mobile travellers who might find the hillside location a problem, but on the plus side, the views are stunning. The hotel is situated on a hill, fine if you have a car or were walkers like us.

"The La Cumbre hotel is located in a quiet spot on a hill providing excellent views all around, although it is quite a distance from the beach and Puerto de Mazarron is not what you'd call a pretty town. The coast and countryside are very attractive though. It's difficult to believe how the hotel were able to provide such good accomodation at their winter rates. Granted, some of the furnishings are a bit old-fashioned now, but all were in very good order and everything was spotlessly clean. Worthy of it's 3-star rating. The cold breakfast buffet was well laid out and offered a good variety of cereal, meat, pastries, fruit and yogurt; and even when busy there was no delay. The dining-room provided a good-value menu as well as a la carte which is popular with visitors as well as guests. If you prefer you can have just one course in the lounge-bar. Outside there's a small swimming-pool with very comfortable seating around, and panoramic views of the coast. The bedrooms all come with balconies and again excellent views. Bathroom was a little dated with a small bath, but a good and powerful overhead shower. It was fully tiled with a large mirror and marble worktop and shelves. With the money saved on accomodation I hired a car for the weekend. I recommend you drive just 5 minutes to Bolnuevo to see the wind-eroded rock formations, and then continue on past the nudist beaches (don't be put off by this as they're discrete creatures). The vivid colours of the rocks are fascinating on this beautiful stretch of coastline. After that, turn back and take the road down to Aguilas, less than 1 hour away. It is a wonderful route with sweeping bends through dramatic scenery that even the driver can enjoy!" (99776250)
Spacious room with good wardrobe space. Plenty of wooden hangers too!
Air-conditioning unit didn't work. Small TV was a long way from the bed and not in a good viewing position.

schöne Sitzecken,viele einheimische Gäste. Die Bar war bis 24 Uhr geöffnet. Parkplatz vor dem Haus.Schöne Aussicht vom Zimmer aus.
Der Kaffee- Automat im 1. Stockwerk war die ganze Zeit außer Betrieb, hätte schneller repariert werden sollen. Ärgerlich: die Musik während des Frühstücks war zu laut bzw. oft nur rauschen; dann lieber keine Musik! Wir haben etwas frisches Obst oder Gemüse zum Frühstück vermißt.
